Adorable place! I have driven by but today was my first stop for breakfast. The atmosphere is beachy and relaxing. Staff was very attentive and polite. I had a wonderful breakfast and will be back in the future !!

Good breakfast and great atmosphere. Ordered the grits but they were meat grits. Was totally surprised but they were pretty good! This place is in the state park. Drive around

Then I ordered my food, the most popular dish, so I was reminded more than once. The Fried Chicken Dinner. Geez, I'll say it was fried! Probably more than once. When it arrived, nearly 45 minutes after ordering it, I strangely looked at it, as if it was eatable. The bartender asked if something was wrong, I simply said, well it certainly looks done, probably too done for taste. It was darker than chocolate. Bartender came back, and asked if I wanted a to go box, I said I definitely would not. It's at this point where, it obvious to anyone who's ever worked in a food service job, to ask if I wanted to get something else, or would like to speak with someone to help the now situation. None of these things happened. Instead I was told many excuses to what may or may not had had happened to my food. My favorite was the excuse for the unbeatable food was because they had a new cook/chef, of which according to the bartender, didn't have clue what the F#$k he was doing, and how the new cook was so terrible and shouldn't be there cooking in the first place. Then the bartender walked away to go wait on other customers. No box, No Check, No Good Bye, and definitely No Thank You! My last encounter with anyone was, the bartender, as I stood up, I said, Well I guess the cook should be fired, along with some others, The bartender said, yeah, I guess so, You have a good night sir, very condescending! I said .... umm, you too. Strangest Restaurant Experience Ever. But I will definitely not have an Experience like that one again , at least not at the wooden shoe.

The staff was so friendly and welcoming, and our waitress was great and recommended the spinach dip. We split the dip and the Drunken Swine flatbread and they both were very good. We are already planning to stop here on the way back and maybe try the pickle pizza and the bison burger. We thought about getting the peanut butter pie for dessert but were too full, next time for sure! The ambiance is very cozy too with a mix of historic and modern feel. This place put Wapakoneta on the map for me, and I will be back to explore more!

Today the plant manager was kind enough to take me to lunch. This is the restaurant she chose and I was not disappointed. We were immediately greeted at the door and were told to choose our own seats. The waitress was very friendly and was prompt with taking our drink orders. I wish I was not on the clock because their bar seemed to have a good selection of different alcohols with some I have never saw. They even had a few decanters on the shelf I wish I would have asked about. I asked for a Dr. Pepper but the waitress let me know they have a soda like it but not the actual brand. I also regret not asking the brand of the soda because it was actually more flavorful than Dr. Pepper. I ordered the bison burger and red potatoes and my boss ordered a pizza. Our food came out pretty quickly and looked great.I did not try the pizza but it looked cooked perfectly with a nice crisp on the crust, next time I will try the pizza for sure it reminded me of my times in Italy. The red potatoes were cooked nicely and seasoned tastefully. The bison burger came with pickles, a green relish type mixture, and a dab of what I believe was a blue cheese. All though the meat could of used some more seasoning, the relish was more like a sweet jam spread and paired perfectly with the bison.Greatly enjoyed my lunch and without a doubt will be returning soon.

Its sleek lines and modern structure stand out among the modest buildings that surround it. Every inch of its interior and exterior are detailed in lavish sophistication. We stayed in the Spa Suite- a beautiful, spacious room with a deep soaking tub perfect for relaxing. Snacks, drinks and card games are within easy reach, tempting you from their station on the oversized desk (for a charge, of course). We skipped slipping into our robes and ordering room service and went down to the hotel bar instead. The bar offers a number of handcrafted cocktails, I was so conflicted about which to order that I told the bartender I would just go down the list- and she happily obliged. Dinner hadn't quite started yet so we ordered food from a limited lunch menu and made friends with the bar patrons. After all, it's still a small town and everyone around is incredibly friendly. Unfortunately, due to my overly enthusiastic cocktail buffet, I didn't make it to dinner. Luckily, I had a gorgeous room to stumble back to, and when I woke up, the minibar snacks and drinks truly saved my night. I absolutely think you get great value for the price of a stay here. You get the sophistication of a luxury hotel without the steep price and pretentiousness that you'd find at a similar hotel in a bigger city. I can't wait to return!
