Good food , ambiance and service. I had the open-faced mushroom sandwich. Jim had the pot pie. Both were good but I'd order the pot pie next time as I love a good pot pie. All their food looks homemade. We also ordered their PB pie to take home, so can't comment on that...yet.

That mac&cheese was bubbling when it was brought to the table. But also is their spicy Bloody Mary and the sandwich was delicious and juicy!

The food was very reasonable and so good! The service did not disappoint either. Nice kick in the spicy Bloody Mary!!

Loved this place! We were in the area so we stopped for lunch. The food is creative and wonderful! 1. Wood fired ham & cheese. I had it with red potatoes - cooked perfectly and seasoned right. The sandwich though - wow! Ham piled high, provolone, cheddar, BACON, on texas toast. The Buffalo cauliflower taco. 3 veggie tacos with a Buffalo kick. Nummmmm! Reuben sandwich. Slow roasted corned beef piled high with Swiss cheese on rye. A classic made to make you smile! Excellent! As Arnold said, 'I'll be back!'

Devoured food we had one pizza slice left out of it all!

Amazing service and food! I've tried the buffalo chicken sammich and the bbq burger, Alfredo with chicken, pizza and the Mac n cheese! All AMAZING

Great place in downtown Wapakoneta. I enjoyed a yummy toasted ham and cheese sandwich with a delicious cherry-apple jam. Fun time chatting about the town with our bartender.

While it was festival time and the bar was a bit busy, the staff was wonderful! Met the owner who sold me the last growler (even though they don't do that anymore). I'd 100% recommend them! They were so welcoming!

We were in town for our nephews swim meet and wanted to try something different for lunch so we decided to stop in J Marie's and so glad we did. The food was delicious! We started with the Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms as an appetizer and they were even better than we expected. For our main course I had the Wood-Fired Ham & Cheese with a side of Mac/Chz. My husband had the Drunken Swine Flatbread. Both were absolutely amazing and the portions were plenty. We were stuffed by the time we were done. It's a fun and unique restaurant with 2 wood stoves and a full bar. The staff were casual and friendly. From where we sat we could see the cooks and they were doing a great job and paying attention to detail of their work. If you haven't been here yet I highly recommend it.

Headed to Wapokaneta this weekend. Menu links on this page do not work. Is this place still there?

How is this place on price?

I think that they are reasonably priced- burgers and flatbreads in the $8 to $12.00 range and entrees in the $15 to $20.00 range- service is excellent and it has a very cool atmosphere

I was asking the people I work with there where are some good places to eat for lunch.I believe The Side Rail came out of nearly everyone's mouths.I arrived at the restaurant for a late lunch probably around 4:30 and the place was not too busy but had its share of patrons. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door with a hello and a smile.I chose to sit at the bar beings I was alone. The decor was very neat with a mix of local and railroad themed decorations. The alcoholic drinks included a large collection of various unique and flavorful drinks and cocktails. I enjoy a good hard cider but the one they had listed on tap had a strawberry flavoring. I mentioned my fondness of ciders but my lack of enjoying strawberry flavored drinks to the waitress/bartender and she immediately offered a sample. I was quite surprised how good it actually was.The menu definitely has a large selection of unique food and combinations especially burgers. I started with an appetizer of garlic cheeses curds. They came out quickly and were fresh, hot, and crispy just how I like them. The garlic flavor with the cheese curds was a great change from the normal cheese curds I'm used to with them even being in cubes.I had to try the burger with Peanut Butter and Jelly, the loaded fries, and Mac and cheese.I was really second guessing that ordering that choice was a good one but boy was I surprised. The burger was cooked perfectly.I will never understand how a burger with cheese, peanut butter,a fruit jam sauce, and even a egg actually not only worked together but was delicious. The loaded fries were crispy, cheesy, and the jalapeños were flavorful but not too hot.The Mac and cheese was also very delicious and very creamy.I will definitely be returning to try some of the other unique sandwiches and cocktails. The only regret I had was forgetting my leftovers in my truck when I got back to my hotel.

Unfortunately, the larger dining room on the other side is the complete opposite--sterile, plain, and uninspired. It could really benefit from a decorator who could bring it in line with the vibe of the bar and outdoor areas. 17 West positions itself as the nicest (and essentially only upscale) restaurant in the New Bremen area, but it falls short of that goal. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Salad sandwich with mashed potatoes. What arrived was a croissant that looked like it came straight from the IGA bakery, topped with a single sad leaf of lettuce and a thin, pale tomato slice. The chicken salad was scooped with what appeared to be an ice cream scoop and simply plopped onto the bread. The result was a bland sandwich with almost no spice or flavor. The mashed potatoes were presented the same way--scooped and unappealing. Overall, the presentation was cafeteria-level at best, and I've had better sandwiches in hospital cafeterias. My wife ordered the Firecracker Chicken. Her side salad was tiny and unremarkable, and while the chicken leg itself tasted decent, it was still just a sauced chicken leg. At $22, it felt significantly overpriced. 17 West likely wouldn't survive in a larger city with real competition. In the New Bremen area, however, it benefits from having very little rivalry, which allows it to stay in business despite the clear mismatch between its prices and the quality and presentation of the food.

The dinning room is nice, low light and low music playing. It seemed to get a little smokey in there but it wasn't bothersome. Our server was so lovely! And another lady that was floating around checking on tables was very sweet and fun! We really struggled with our ordering and "locking it in"...therefore we ended up ordering what felt like half the menu. For appetizers, we got calamari and the baked crab dip. The calamari was pretty light and delicious. The crab dip was heavy and but had a great flavor. I wasn't a huge fan of the chips but it was great with the bread that came to our table. The bread basket came out steaming and the butter was amazing we had to ask for extra. The butter is whipped and has green onions in it. Hubby and daughter each got clam chowder--it was different from what they are used to (and they are both clam chowder connoisseurs) but they still thought it was very good--just thinner and a lot more meaty ingredients. Daughter loved the halibut with risotto. Hubby really enjoyed the boathouse burger--bacon jam was new for him but he loved it. Though the burger was messy--he definitely cleaned the plate. My seafood platter was pretty good, I ate the scallops and coconut shrimp first. Then came our next dilemma...dessert!! So we each got one! Crème Brûlée, Highlander Grogg Chocolate Cake and Chocolate Chip Cookie Skillet. Everything was a hit!!

The food left much to be desired. Our table of 7 ordered a variety of dishes such as the Rise and Shine, Country Breakfast Skillet, a pancake, and breakfast sandwich. We tried to doctor them up by adding lots of salt and butter but it was useless The eggs had no salt or pepper although they do a nice job of cooking over easy eggs which some places fail at. Homefries, which were really hasbrowns, were mushy and bland. The pancake was dry. The bacon and toast were good.

It's the kind of place where the biscuits are fluffy, the coffee's always hot, and the welcome is as warm as the griddle. This morning, we popped in for breakfast, and from the moment we stepped through the door, we knew we were in good hands. That feeling was confirmed when Holly, our waitress, greeted us with a smile and the kind of friendly service that makes you feel like a regular--even if it's your first visit. I went all-in with The Hog Log, and let me tell you, this is not your average breakfast burrito. It's a hearty wrap filled with sausage, bacon, ham, scrambled eggs, and cheese, all rolled in a soft flour tortilla and smothered in rich, homemade sausage gravy. Every bite had that perfect balance of smoky, creamy, and savory flavors--and the gravy? Next-level delicious. My wife ordered Uncle Dave's Favorite Breakfast, which comes with your choice of pancakes or French toast, eggs done your way, a breakfast meat, and toast. She chose pancakes, bacon (crispy but not burnt), whole wheat toast, and eggs over medium. The pancakes were fluffy and golden, the bacon had that perfect crisp, and the eggs were cooked just right--firm whites with warm, runny yolks. It was classic comfort on a plate. The décor is classic country diner meets local charm--think rustic wood accents, sweet signs on the wall, and the kind of vibe that makes you want to slow down and savor the morning. Whether you're a local or just passing through Champaign County, The Farmer's Daughter is worth the stop. The portions are generous, the food is fresh, and the service--especially from folks like Holly--makes the experience even better. So go ahead, order the Hog Log. Or Uncle Dave's. Or both.
