Recently went to Clancy's in Sidney, Ohio...it was very clean and brightly lit. The staff were helpful, friendly and gracious. Ordered a Mushroom/Swiss burger and fries. The fries were seasoned and ok, but the burger was tasteless and soft. The mushroom sauce lacked any taste or flavor and had a minimal amount of mushrooms. It was dinner time and the only customers I saw were drive-thru/carryout ordering meatloaf dinners. Maybe I should have gone that route ‍ Likely won't be returning. read more

I haven't been to a Clancy's in 35 years, didn't know they were still around. My parents used to take us to the one in Galion Ohio, after going to the family doctors. I remember them being a roast beef, and baked potato place, but that was 35 years ago. There are only two left in the U.S. and this is the only one in Ohio. I got a Topper, Richelle got the bacon double cheeseburger, and we shared the fries. The burgers are fantastic. Topper is a two 1/10oz hamburger patty, slice of Mercian cheese, lettuce and tarter sauced three bun delight. Bun is slightly toasted, but so soft It was falling apart as you at it, reminded me of Nichole's bread when we made burgers at home. Richelle said the bacon dbl. cheese burger, good, better then other fast food places, like If you would make it. Fries are outstanding, nice thick slices. Staff is friendly: If you dine in they bring your food too you. We were even asked if we need refills. It's fast food style, but they have daily meals specials that are more like fast casual. It's really has a mom n pop neighborhood hamburger joint feel. read more

Been going here since I was basically a baby. I would definitely recommend the cookies! The place feels very welcoming and like you are stepping into the 1950's. The interior elements like the stained-glass lights really pull the whole thing together. read more

Pleasantly surprised, visited this place recently and got some ham & cheese sandwiches which were very good. Saw they had breakfast, so tried again a few days later and was also pretty good. I usually don't go to this side of Sidney very often, but may have to now that there is something worth driving over there for. Guy on speaker taking orders was very friendly and efficient, older woman manning the window during breakfast was not overly friendly, but not rude either. She didn't give me my drinks at first, but they were there and waiting when I asked for them. Overall, a good experience. It's hard to find good food in Sidney, a lot of these restaurants just don't care about order accuracy and customer courtesy, but this Clancy's seems to be pretty good so far. read more

This is the first time I've been to this restaurant but my parents rave about it. I was starving after my workout and wanted some place with a drive thru so I didn't need to go inside. This place was fast and cheap. I wouldn't recommend the fountain pop, it had a horrible taste. And I wouldn't recommend the bacon, it was limp and tasted like the microwave kind. I wouldn't recommend the hash brown, I took one bite and it was greasy and soggy. The eggs were a generous amount for being two eggs. The wheat toast was fine. I'll try lunch or dinner here sometime before I write them off completely but I won't be back for breakfast. read more

My review may be a bit skewed as I am awash in nostalgia, however the meal we had was also really good. Ok, the food review is probably more of a 4, but the experience was a 5 and since I'm so glad that there is a Clancy's left, I'm giving them all 5 stars! I was on a road trip 2 weeks ago with one of my best friends who is not very interested in food and did not grow up in Norwalk, Ohio, so she didn't know what to make of my off the charts excitement at accidentally stumbling on the only Clancy's still in existence! If you grew up in a small Midwestern town in the early to mid '70's, McDonalds and Burger King hadn't yet made it onto the scene. We were "left" with Burger Chef and Clancy's as fast food options. At the time we felt overlooked and unloved by the big chains (be careful what you wish for) and had to "settle" for Clancy's and Burger Chef. Then one day they were gone, gone, gone. And we missed them. Terribly. After finding this treasure, I called my mom and told her we were coming back the next week. And we did. We got a hotel room in Wapakoneta, visited the Temple of Tolerance, and came to All-you-can-eat fried chicken day at Clancy's. I can't remember if the recipe is the same, but I do know that it was delicious, the prices were more than reasonable,the staff was very friendly and enthusiastic, and the place is much cleaner than typical fast food restaurants. This chicken (which was my favorite as a child) is only available on weekends, so plan accordingly if you're going to relive your pre-fast food chain glory days. read more

Clancy's provided me with my first actual employment - so maybe this review is a little biased - but that employment lasted about 6 months and was 21 years ago. What I remember standing out about Clancy's were the Apple and Cherry Fried Pies, the All-You-Can-Eat Chicken on Sunday's, and the hot ham and cheese sandwich. read more

Clancy's is what diner was before McD's. Prices are fair and food is decent. Nothing fancy. Meals have "home cooked" taste and the setting is retro. (They aren't trying, it just is!) Soy burger that was disgusting. Friend order a dinner, it only took them 2 minutes to get her meal out the drive throw window, everything was premade, instant potatoes, heat and service meat, dried out dinner rolls, very costly meal, 12 bucks and we could of just got a banquet tv dinner for a few dollars, it hat is basically what it was. My friend order mash potatos and french fries, the fries where baked potatoes that they cut into strips then deep fried Disgusting. Recently went here to get some dinner before meeting a friend. At first the food and service was great the girl at the drive thru got my order fast and was super nice. But as I was eating my fries I noticed that some of them had a very strong chemical like taste to them. It was gross and I couldn't figure out what the taste was. I then threw them away and ate the mediocre mashed potatoes and green beans, many of the green beans were hard and chewy and had very hard pieces on the edge of them. I was not pleased. I ended up throwing away most of my food and probably won't be going back here for a while. I thought it was supposed to be good home cooked food not this. read more

Clancy's has been in Sidney for 30+ years and Ive been told it was Sidneys first drive thru. The Topper and the Giant sandwiches are their main sandwiches and they offer alot of other sandwiches and options on their menu. Drive thru is available. They usually have all you can eat fish on fridays and all you can eat chicken on saturday evenings (i believe I have the days right, I like both so I eat whatever they are serving that night) :-) The restarant is "modern" inside and has been well maintained but it is the old style building. It is always clean. So old styled that if you need to use the rest rooms, you have to go outside and around to the back of the building to enter the restrooms. It is nothing fancy but it is a good place to get good food. read more

I have only ate at Clancy's once. That was enough for me to not want to go back really. The wait for service wasn't long, it was midday so I was kind of shocked. The food was bland and on the cool side, not exactly what I expected. I can and have lived with that from other places, mainly because I don't like to complain, but there is one thing that stood out during this visit. This one thing is the reason that I do not wish to revisit. While eating in the dining room one of the workers was cleaning up in the dining area, picking up an assortment of left overs, used napkins, used straws, and random bits of things on the floor. While I like the idea that they were cleaning, what happened next is the point of contention. They then proceeded to walk back behind the counter to the grill and begin working with the ingredients for the next order and cooking without washing their hands. This may have been just a 1 time occurance, but I was kind of put off after seeing that and couldn't eat anymore. I just hope the person that ate what this person prepared didn't get sick. Other people seem to enjoy this place, and I have no problems with that. I'll just be eating elsewhere. read more

I'm a frequent customer at Clancy's and although the food is good when I actually receive what I ordered.. the staff in this store is so incredibly rude, immature, and lazy. I don't know how many times I've gone through the drive thru and been greeted by a rude employee. THIS IS SO BAD! It's very obvious that these girls don't love their job and they take it out on the customers. They blatantly ignore special requests and multiple times I have been through with a friend and a girl has given him a phone number that isn't hers. This is inappropriate beyond all means. I also work in the food industry and it is unacceptable, I would never treat customers the way they do. It needs to be addressed. read more

This place is a great alternative to the major food chains. It offers the normal american fare ( hamburgers, fries); but it also has a few unique items on the menu. Every Wednesday is a new, creative meal. Also, every Friday there is AYCE fish fry, Saturday and Sunday is AYCE fried Chicken. My two favorites are the deep fried Tenderloin and the Country Fried Steak. Breakfast is also a pleasure. But I believe the best asset of this establishment is the regular customers and crew. Their friendly banter and charasmatic atmosphere gives this place the gold star is deserves. read more
