So this place is OPEN. It's confusing because the neon open sign is flashing, there's a sign at the front door saying to use other door, but then there's also a sign that say this business is closed. Lol. I could see people inside eating. So we walked around and found the door to go in. They offer hand sanitizer at the door and are keeping to safe distancing regulations. Side note: We are pulling an RV trailer and had plenty of room to park. On to the food. I ordered the fresh squeezed orange juice, and the California Eggs Benedict without bacon with hash browns. Everything was really good! The eggs Benedict was served on toast instead of English muffin which at first I wasn't thrilled about but after a few bites I was sold. The orange tasted fresh squeezed and yummy. My only critique is that the hash browns were a little soggy. I suppose I could have ordered them extra crispy but didn't. The waitress was friendly and fast. We were in and out in like 30 mins and we didn't feel rushed. Definitely a place to visit while traveling through. Cheers! read more

Where to begin... the walk, I'll start there! No semi parking here & the weather is amazing this morning! So, I took advantage of a morning walk and it was well worth it!! A little, old school, local diner feel with amazing service! They tend to be popular so, expect a short wait. Not to fret, they have full staff and all provide top notch service. Try counter service, especially if you like to watch/admire the efficiency of the food pushed from the kitchen window. I opted for the "build your own" (ham, sausage, cheddar) omelette with sourdough toast, and a side of bacon. Accompanied with black coffee & water. Absolutely delicious! What an amazing place for breakfast! The servers are fantastic always ready to serve with a big smile. We came with a huge group, and they seated us quickly, bringing out our food in record time. If you need a little driving break from I-80, this is the place to go!! So yummy and cute. We entered the door and were immediately greeted by 3 or 4 different servers who told us to choose our own seat. It has a very cozy feel and we felt welcomed. I ordered the Breakfast Quesadilla which was very good!! I loved everything it was filled with, and it had a huge size!! I haven't had many breakfast quesadillas but this was probably the best one I've had. They really it down right. My boyfriend got the breakfast burrito which was a LOT smaller than we expected (usually breakfast burritos are huge) so I definitely recommend the quesadilla for its size and taste if you're looking for breakfast with a bit of a Mexican flare! We had stopped in a couple of times back in November when we were last in the area, but all of my delicious photos got deleted! We were in town for the 2022 balloon festival and just HAD to get some photos of the best omelettes in town! The atmosphere here is great! Very homey, and close while still having your own space. They even have a counter where you can sit and enjoy your meal (as opposed to sitting at a table). Service is always friendly, and the food (especially) this visit was delicious! Passing thru I decided to stop for breakfast. Yelp helped me find The Griddle. I had excellent service and the Canadian Bacon and Eggs were really good. The restaurant is clean and a legit diner experience. So, Canadian Bacon in the desert. Crazy! I also happen to be Canadian / US Dual National. I also happen to make my own Canadian Bacon, where I live in Pittsburgh, so I have a few things to add at this point. First of all, we call it Peameal or Back Bacon, and you got it correct. It's brined pork loin, not the usual ham with a rind that I see so often in the US. Also, you could ask your butcher to roll the roast before slicing in corn meal, if you want to be even more authentic! I like to pan fry the Peameal in a cast iron pan, or even better I grill it on the BBQ. Just don't cook it too long or it becomes tough. You guys did a good job bringing a smile to my face on my final hours on my trip from Pittsburgh to Sacramento I suggest everyone goes and experience The Griddle on their way through Winamucca NV read more

We came in for breakfast after coming in late the night before on the way from Boise to Reno. We were taken by how friendly all the servers were. People came by to refill coffee mugs and water glasses. I counted at least three servers other than our waitress who stopped, even though they were also caring for their tables. I ordered a breakfast special: pork chops with e1ggs, hashbrowns and toast. The chops were tasty, the hashbrowns crispy and the toast was served with homemade strawberry and Blackberry jams. They would have also brought a mango jam if I wished. They used to serve Farmers coffee, which was nothing special. In the past year, they upgraded to Boise's Dawson Taylor, a big improvement. 06-13-2024 This place was a good fine if you are passing through and you want to take a break. We got lunch here and were pleased. The staff was friendly and professional. The interior was clean and so were the restrooms. Our food order came pretty quick. Our server was Adriana M. She is a great server and I hope you get her if you stopped by. BLT was lopsided all, but one bacon was on one side of the sandwich. So, if you eat that side first your other half will only have one slice of bacon. The fries did not seem fresh like just sat under a heat lamp. My cheeseburger was ok. If we come back, we will definitely try something else on the menu. read more

Eh, not impressed. Chose this spot on our way through Nevada and would not return. We arrived at 12:30 and it was relatively busy. Took a bit to get seated, but then we didn't even get our order taken for 15 minutes. Then it took another 45 minutes to get our food. We only ordered 2 omelettes. The food was just so-so. Not a ton of flavor or anything special. The hot cake was probably my favorite part of the meal. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed, which I totally understand, but we never once got our water refilled in over the hour we spent there. I would've been a lot more understanding if she had just said, "sorry it's been busy, let me grab you some more water." However, she never once recognized that or communicated with us. We stopped here about 9:30am on a Monday morning. It was a little busy but not too bad. We had a seat at the counter. My wife says it's a cute little diner. Menus were provided and our drink orders taken right away. My wife ordered the fresh squeezed orange juice and she said it was very good. They don't serve lunch until 11 a.m. so breakfast it is. My wife decided on the breakfast burrito, enchilada style which comes with potatoes and I chose the gravy train potatoes which comes with toast and eggs. Our meals arrived rather quickly and looked good. The potatoes seem like frozen hash browns not homemade.
