We definitely liked the atmosphere and dekor. It was a Wednesday evening so it wasn't overly crowded but still filled with some regulars and other guests. My friend went for the Lamb Stew and I got the Beef Burger and we both weren't too excited by our food. My friend thought the stew could've been better seasoned and I found the burger a bit too dry. But nonetheless we both decided we want to come back und eat here again too. Maybe we were just unlucky or picky that day.

His wit is lightening fast which helps as he reaches for the higher shelves The Guinness is superb and worth the visit alone having been thoughtfully managed with temperature and excellent maintenance by professionals There is no pub in Dublin or Dun Laoghaire that I want to spend in more than this pub Some call if "the old man bar" because young and old alike feel welcome there If you like fun the owner encourages all singers good and bad to belt one out so don't be shy even if you don't know all the words. The food is decent, I won't say overpriced because when there is a view it's pretty, and in life you pay for pretty views. but they didn't exactly lower the prices when there was no longer a view. And so it's overpriced. Stop failing at life. You guys have a prime location next to the train stop by one of the greatest towns forming on the planet. You have an opportunity here, show up.

Daniels is great…read more That's it, great. Come here a lot with my family, have for years. The menu isn't anything wild, huge steaks, chicken kievs, rack of lamb, that kind of thing. But it's just so well done. Delicious. Plus, how can you argue with the service when Daniel himself comes out of the kitchen and chats away, tells you about his new wines, where the steaks come from and drives home to get rhubarb for your desert cause he ran out (this honest to goodness happened one night). Lovely man, lovely family run place, lovely food. Go.....now!

We both had steaks rate and medium rare with a delicious pepper sauce and fabulous homemade crispy onion rings. The star of our evening however was Daniel himself. On this night, he was both waiter and chef and was so considerate and charming , I could imagine bringing friends from abroad there just for the experience of meeting him! They don't have ginger beer though! The staff are great, considering the size of the bar they keep everything running smoothly. We asked a member of staff for advice on what to do while visiting and she immediately sent over a local employee who gave us some tips. Although we just ended up staying in Hardy's all evening. They serve food, it's a more casual dining experience than the hotel restaurant serving up burgers and wings - more traditional pub grub. I can't fault the bar at all - it was really busy when we visited, which I imagine it would be most evenings. Don't bother venturing in to town before trying this bar out!
