Don't sleep on Moonshine Grill! We've been here a number of times and recently returned for dinner…read moreafter an event at the Fairmont Hotel. We somehow snagged nearby street parking and a table for two with no wait despite it being a busy Saturday evening after a UT football game. Make a reservation if you have a large party or are on a tighter schedule. It's a bit loud for those seated in the lobby/entrance area, but totes a vibe. For food, we ordered the blackened catfish, brisket burnt ends quesadillas, and harvest bowl to share. Everything was delicious and served quickly, even with the aforementioned dinner rush. 10/10 would order the same items again. I was so appreciative of the server splitting the entree over two plates without us asking. Did I mention the complimentary popcorn and cornbread? Twas a FEAST. I'm already thinking about the next time we're going back! If not for Moonshine, definitely for the speakeasy downstairs.

We arrived and in a few minutes we were seated at a table and immediately given water in mason jars and asked for our drink order. I opted just got an Arnold Palmer but the drink menu had some cute cocktails and mocktails, as well as a nice selection of beer and wine. Instead of bread, our server brought us a basket of seasoned popcorn. The popcorn had almost like a Cajun flair, but it wasn't spicy. It reminded me of the Ground Round chain from when I was a little girl. We decided to try the corndog shrimp appetizer. I couldn't decide on an entree because everything looked so good, so I did the Parmesan chicken and my coworker did the steak salad. The shrimp arrived so quickly with four large pieces of shrimp on a stick wrapped in corn dog batter and fried to a golden brown, with a blueberry mustard dipping sauce. The shrimp were delicious and while I didn't get much of the blueberry in the mustard, I enjoyed the sweetness it provided. My Parmesan chicken was a crispy and juicy breaded chicken cutlet with a lemon cream, artichoke hearts, and what appeared to be prosciutto on top. It was served with a side of pesto couscous with grape tomatoes and cucumbers. I wish I had ordered mashed potatoes on the side, because I wanted something to soak up the lemon cream sauce, which was the highlight of the chicken. We also were served 3 mini cornbread muffins with honey butter. My coworker said the salad was just okay, and was a little on the small side. The desserts were definitely a MUST and if you visit Moonshine and don't save room for the Espresso Brownie or the Peanut Butter Pie, you're going to regret it. The brownie was so fudgey and warm and served with ice cream. It was decadent. The peanut butter pie was the biggest slab of PB pie I've ever had with a thick Oreo crust. I wish I had someone with me to share it, it was huge. Overall, if I lived in the area I would definitely be back to try other things.

Came here on a Sunday dinnertime with some friends for Vietnamese food. Showed up around 6 PM and…read morethey weren't too busy. Parking was plentiful. It's located in a strip mall with a pretty unassuming entrance. Service was great, we were warmly greeted, and they have a moderate amount of seating, though it wasn't crowded during our visit. Mostly Vietnamese food on the menu, but they also offer a lot of variety: Tom Kha Pho, iced coffee, Korean shaved ice (bingsoo), banh mi, and rice dishes. Feels like they're mostly Vietnamese focused with some fun extras mixed in. It's a pretty chill setup, you pay first at the counter, then they bring your food along with a water bottle. Pho ($17, 7/10) - Pretty standard, good flavor, large portions in a large bowl - Standard sides with mint, lime, jalapenos, and bean sprouts - No option to choose your meat, it just comes with brisket and meatballs (though I didn't ask, so maybe substitutions are possible) - Generous with the meat portions though, which was a nice bonus - Broth was rich and flavorful, plenty of noodles, left me satisfied. Definitely can compete with specialized pho spots in town Someone else at the table got the Tom Kha Pho, and it looked really good and creamy, definitely want to try that next time. Overall, this spot feels very family oriented and homestyle. Really enjoyed this meal.

We've been to Azure a handful of times now, and I honestly think it deserves to be called Azure…read moreAsian Fusion & Cafe because the food deserves just as much attention as the drinks and desserts. It's surprisingly hard to find Asian fusion done properly. By that, I mean food created by people who actually understand the different Asian cuisines they're pulling from; not just combining ingredients and calling it fusion. Doing it right is knowing the flavors, techniques and ingredients well enough to bring them together in a way that is optimal and respectful to the cultures and regional cuisines being represented. Definitely check them out for lunch or dinner, or even just drop in for dessert like we've done: Bánh Xèo Tacos ($14.99) Vietnamese x Mexican: The banh xeo shell was incredibly crunchy without being messy. It's filled with shrimp, pork belly, vegetables and pickles, with a cilantro-lime dipping sauce. You can also ask for Vietnamese nước chấm. The meat was moist and flavorful, and that cilantro-lime sauce was seriously addictive. Vermicelli Bowl ($16.99) Vietnamese x Japanese: This was so refreshing. It had wakame, red pickles, cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes and carrots. The meat was well-marinated, and I'd definitely order it again. Papaya Salad ($13.99) Vietnamese x Thai. It was served with a whole fried soft-shell crab and shrimp chips. It leans sweeter from the Vietnamese nước chấm, which I personally prefer but still kept the nod for raw crab for the Thai but in a way of the fried softshell crab. We've also had their croffles, drinks and bingsu, but the Chè Thái Bingsu ($13.99 L / $10.99 M) is our favorite. Vietnamese chè Thái meets Korean bingsu, and somehow it's even better together, lighter and less overpowering than traditional chè.

Their fried chicken sandwich was audibly crisp with fresh tomato and lettuce that I made two meals out of. The pancakes were soft and sweet! The experience, unforgettable. It brought happy tears to my eyes and we really appreciate the thought and care put into our day. I couldn't decide what I wanted so I went with the eggs Benedict which came with hash brown casserole. I also got a lemonade. My traveling partner got the Bacon Basil Tomato omelet with smoked cheddar and garlic aioli. We also got an order of ricotta pancakes with strawberries. My eggs Benedict was served on a unique bread - not a traditional English muffin - that kind of fell apart as I ate it. The flavor was great though. I should have gotten regular home fries, because the hashbrown casserole was cheesy and I wanted something to soak up the hollandaise and egg. The pancakes were so light they fell right apart when we began cutting into them. The flavor was great though. I would definitely recommend Phoebes.
