We meet weekly in one of their simulator bays, and I can't believe how much Gary has improved my swing and grip in just one class. I've learned so much, and I highly recommend taking lessons with him. Each session runs around 45 minutes to an hour and costs $60, but if you purchase the series, it drops to $250--only $50 per class. Such a steal! Hornacek's has a huge selection of golf gear, from clothes to clubs and bags. They even have an amazing clearance section in the back, which I love checking out after my lessons. I scored a pair of last season's G/FORE shoes for a fraction of the original price. The staff there are always super friendly and ready to help. It's definitely a go-to store for anything golf-related!

I'm not one to usually write a review about sporting stores, I usually just review places I eat at…read more I would, however, like to write a very nice experience I had today around 12:30 - 1 PM ish when I had to find a new mug/tumbler to bring to my Krav Maga classes. There was quite a selection, and I was looking for a specific design so I looked for an employee who went through a lengthy process on the hunt for the tumbler I picked out. I unfortunately do not remember his name, but he had blonde hair I believe and was fairly tall compared to me lol. I have OCD, so I analyze every detail when I buy something. Or just everything in general. After he had recommended the Yeti Rambler and a few others, I ultimately decided on that one. This was when the probably most odd adventure at Dick's began of finding the tumbler color I liked that had the least amount of markings, dings, imperfections, etc. There were quite a few of that specific tumbler color, & it took a decent amount of time to finally decide on one. After pulling out every color of that size of mug I decided on, I narrowed it down to a few, but was still struggling due to some very minor markings I saw. I had asked for his help more than a few times to see if he could spot any markings on them and he crouched onto the floor with me, looking at them and pointing out what appeared to be the best option while I rotated the tumbler to look at it with the lighting at certain angles. Not only did this employee take the time and patience to help me, but went as far as getting me a wet and dry paper towel to see if a tiny dot of a smudge would wipe off -spoiler: it did indeed come off- but I really sincerely appreciate how understanding he was about the situation and how far he went to help me. I'd imagine a majority of people on this planet would go mad trying to help someone pick a tumbler for over an hour, but there was no judgment on his part and was very kind. I also left with an awesome tumbler thanks to him, and slightly embarrassed/guilty for the probably agonizing experience he had to go through lol, but still was very kind throughout all of it. Updated Review: Made an apointment to get fitted with possibly new shafts for my driver, and…read morepossibly even try out the highly hyped up Newton Shafts. Well this never happened. In addetion to a rediculus $175 fitting fee should I choose not to do anything, or new shafts wont add anything to my game (most all other companies only charge $100 including manufature fitting days like Titleist on real turf) There was a considerable mark up un shafts as well. Example: A Newtoin Shaft from Newton costs about $300-$325 direct from Newton. I was informed that a Newton Shaft from Club Champion was more like around $450 because they claim to do something extra to the shaft.. I suddenly feel I would be shafted!!! If you are a scratch or near scratch golfer with money to burn, this might be your place. Or better yet fine tuning by the club manufacturers if you are good enough fith connections. But for the majority of golfers out there, you can get fitted and outfitted by a decent fitter and any golf store for a lot less and likely equal results on the score card.

We reserved two hours and that was plenty. They also have a chill room on the lower level it has some tables and games and a pool table. Standing water on fairways and every bunker. Numerous areas under repair. Huge divots every shot so wet we ran out of sand. Played in a scramble tourney that was supposed to have multiple tastings on holes and I think there was 3. The tourney prize for first was a head cover like what?!?! Just a money grab. *UPDATED* Jeff below will try to tell you lies to make what occurred seem better to save face. There was only 3 tastings. Two par 3's had empty tables. Prizes were underwhelming at best. A bag tag looks like a child made at elementary school, a free round of golf in these conditions (couldn't pay me to play it again), and one of their own head covers. Utilize your vendors from golf brands. Other courses offering hundreds of dollars, clubs, etc for lesser tournament registration fees. You offer what seems to be after thoughts to be cheap. Every course waters more in the summer so it doesn't get fried but morning tee times see dew. Not standing water and soggy ground with every step. It was the most unprofessional tournaments I have ever seen. Absolute amateur hour. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COURSE!!!!!!
