He, unfortunately, had to have unexpected life-threatening surgery and was out of commission for a bit due to this. I reached out to RJ this week since he was the instructor listed on the gift certificate to see when we can schedule golf lessons and then I received a call from Gil asking why I was reaching out to RJ and what he had to do with any of this. He hardly gave me a chance to speak and then he said that the gift certificate is expired and that RJ and Gil have retired. He didn't even give me a chance to explain what had happened or suggest whether there was anyone else that could provide the lessons. He then hung up in a hurry stating the certificate is expired and that he only provided service from November - April anyway. Maybe in upcoming November he can do something for us is what he suggested. Very poor, disappointing service. He seemed to have enough time on his hands last May when it came to accepting my $210 for the gift certificate. If he was kind, empathetic, and allowed me a moment to speak, I would understand his point. Unfortunately, this was not the case. I hope the rest of the golf community is not as cut-throat as this group.

Full disclosure - I had swung a golf club maybe 2 times in my life before taking lessons. I am SO glad that I took lessons with Jim. He is very knowledgeable about the sport, but takes time to really understand you and works with you in the best method it takes for you to learn. You constantly see him writing notes and taking videos of your lessons (he also shares the videos with you after - self reflection and analysis is important!) and his feedback always makes me improve and feel better about my golf game. He truly caters the lesson to your needs and your abilities. He took time to really explain everything to me and answer all my (probably silly) questions and never made me feel dumb about not knowing golf terms or rules. Aside from the instruction, the facility is perfect for someone looking to learn their swing for the first time or improve upon foundations they have already learned. Each lesson and practice will involve 2 camera angles that allow you to play back your swing in slow motion so you can really get a good idea of what you're doing well and what you're doing wrong. After each lesson you also get a recap of your lesson with playback videos and instructor voice overs to walk you through what you just learned so you can continue to build upon it. I was introduced to stripe via a friend who I hadn't connected with in a while. We were looking for a way to catch up And spend some time outdoors so heading to the driving range seem like a perfect idea. However, finding an affordable driving range that isn't overly crowded in Phoenix is a bit of a challenge. Now mind you, I am a high handicap golfer, who does not spend a lot of time on the course. So when I do go out, I accept that I am likely going to Dig up a lot of holes and lose a lot of balls. If your game is like mine, then this is the place for you. I wouldn't put too much emphasis on aesthetics as this is about as rough cut as they get. However, they have a driving range, a putting green And a chipping area. All of these surfaces are pretty rough and are not anywhere near top golf quality. However, if you're trying to improve your game, and you are not too bougie to play on some hardscrabble, check this place out. They do close a little earlier on evenings, but this isn't a course you would want to be out late on anyway. They also Have an executive nine hole course that you can walk or ride on. We loved the small group personal attention we got from our coaches, to include Coach Martin. Not gonna lie, we got to our hotel exhausted each night. Every day was an exercise in deconstructing our bad habits into good ones. That grip, that grip, that grip. I promise at the end of the course you WILL know your correct grip. This makes a huge difference. I learned how to use my irons. I've been "allergic" to my irons because I never knew how to use them. Now I do. Our coaches, Jonas and Mike were problem solvers. They would work with me and keep trying to find the right solution to my issues until they were happy with the results. I can't wait to get to our local golf course to try out my new skills, thanks to Tour Striker Golf Academy.
