Just moved down to the Valley and played a few course in the month I have been down here and I would say Dobson Ranch is the best course I have been to for your average golfer. They will go over the top for whatever you need and they always have a cart out on the course for refreshments (was interesting that the other few I've played didn't). The vibe is very chill and welcoming with all workers I came in contact with were very happy to be there (says a lot about the culture). As far as pace of play the other reviews are correct is does play a little slower as it is an easier course in the Valley and welcomes everyone and with that you are going to get caught behind some learners but also remember that we were all there once too! I also have had interactions with Andrew (the boss) he seems very accommodating and sensible. I absolutely love this course and the staff. Overall it's a 10/10. Last point I will say is to the review who was not impressed by the conditions in June I would recommend pinetop or flagstaff for your golfing options during the summer because when it's 120+ in the valley I don't think there's enough water in the valley to keep the courses in crazy good shape. If you're just coming to the golf course to hit some balls at the range, or enjoy some drinks, this place would probably be fun for a date night. But as many of the reviews have stated, the pace of play on the golf course is terrible. We teed off at 1 o'clock and finished just before six. According to the Ranger, the course had some bachelor parties, which doesn't excuse the course for allowing them to slow pace a play for everyone else on the course and ruin the experience. I don't think financially it makes sense to cater to a bachelor party when you'll lose all the other golfers who will not come back to this course to play. The course was in fine condition, but that doesn't really matter when the pace of play is absurdly slow and the slow groups aren't required to move forward a hole. I won't ever be coming back to this course to play. read more

This golf course has completely sold out. They overbook tee times and clearly don't care about everyday golfers anymore. The focus is entirely on hosting events and tournaments for guys who think they're PGA players, even though many of them have no control over their game or the course. Because management prioritizes tournaments and group events, pace of play is painfully slow. Rounds drag on forever, there's no course control, and regular players are left dealing with the chaos. Staff does nothing to manage spacing or enforce pace, as long as the event money keeps coming in. Also, don't buy the Ranch Card -- it does nothing for you. You're better off just going on GolfNow and grabbing a Hot Deal. Same or better pricing without the empty promises. If you're looking for an enjoyable round with a reasonable pace, this isn't the place anymore. It's become more about booking events than providing a quality golf experience. read more

Went to use the practice range. Couldn't find a parking spot cus 3 douche bags in oversized trucks were taking up multiple spots,one taking up 4 full spots. Why they were you towed is beyond me. So glad I drove from Peoria and wasted a 1/4 tank of gas. read more

I haven't played here in years. We recently went to the driving range and really enjoyed it. So on our next outing, I wanted to check out the course and we bit the bullet and paid full Maricopa County resident rate. This was in early July and the course was already in poor shape. The fairways had many dead areas, as did some of the greens. It is a fairly open and relatively easy course but the conditions are really bad. Not related to the course per se, but we were paired with a woman that the starter told us played here every day and would be in her own cart. Fine by our r threesome. But in practice it was horrible. This lady had zero golf etiquette. She would park her cart at the ladies tees while the men teed on the whites. She would hit her shot, hop in her cart and roll on toward the hole. Several times I yelled Fore as I was hitting into her. Finally on one hole I skulled a shot into her calf. She also constantly drove her cart past the "cart path only" warnings on MOST greens (even Pat 3). I fault the staff for allowing that to happen, they clearly know what she does. All-in-all, not worth the price. It's something I do - forget why I stop going to a place. And then try it again since it's local and I WANT to support. I may hit the range again, but even that was problematic - much of the time the distances it stated were wrong. read more

With the sun blazing down on the valley, but time off during the week, we attempted to find a driving range that would let us get out of the house, get active, but not hate our lives while doing so. Luckily, Dobson ranch has many shaded bays at their driving ranch as well as a tracking/game system with QR codes on each table to quickly order a drink. We were there at 2 pm on a Friday, so it wasn't too hectic. About 50% of the bays were occupied. I'm sure it gets quite busy during the weekend and when the weather drops down to double digits. Our entire experience at Dobson Ranch was great, every person who worked there that we interacted with was so friendly and kind. The breakfast burritos and nachos were great and the service was exceptional. Shaun took good care of us he hooked it up with drinks and push carts since we were walking. The pro shop also had some good sale deals on clothes and hats which was nice. Overall great experience, so glad we picked this course since we were in the area for the weekend. Dobson Ranch Golf Course is a solid course. I took golf clinics here in the fall of last year and played a round in February. During my clinics, we mainly practiced in the driving range. My class was well taken care of. Our bays were reserved well in advance and we always had ample supply of balls to use. We had out-of-town guests back in February and decided to take them to Dobson Ranch to play a round. We made a reservation ahead of time. For peak season, the prices were reasonable, as it always is at Dobson Ranch. We got to experience their new Inrange technology at the driving range during our visit, which was neat. We were very pleased with the condition of the of the course and had a blast. We would definitely play here again. I haven't tried the food at either the restaurant or the food truck so I can't speak for those. Dobson Ranch does a lot of good for the community. There's always events happening, so be sure to check out their site. read more

I stopped coming to this course because they purposely overbook the course and it always took 5 - 6 hours in the past to play 18. And after a few years I finally came back for a round and needless to say I was not surprised. We show up and to the first tee box at our time and the starter casually said there was 5 groups ahead of us. The fact they still charged us the full rate is just disrespectful. Just chilling at the table when random worker says "do you guys need your mommies?" We think she's joking and we say "no we're walking home" then she keeps saying "I think you guys need your mommies." My freind goes "what's your problem why are you talking in a sarcastic tone of voice?" Then she says "you've been talking in a sarcastic tone of voice all night." (Never seen this woman) anyway we ordered 2 $17 smash burgers, plain. She goes to make our food and I'm pretty sure she spit in it but you can't be sure. Then the manager walks up to us and says we have been too loud and have been "hootin and hollering" but at least he was respectful. We get our food and some worker says "yall better say thank you and learn some manners" then the woman starts talking to us and my freind says "why are you talking to minors like your our mom??" Then she says "because you guys need a real mom." And I say "what is that supposed to even mean?" She says we don't have real moms and have bad parents. And we need to find Jesus so wow Then we open up our burgers and we ordered them plain. I see every single topping in the world on the burger. I say "ma'am I ordered this just meat and cheese" and they she said "well there's meat and cheese." I say "well I didn't want this." She says "you should've said that then!" I ask if she can take it off or remake it, and she says no. I say "well can I get a refund?" Then she straight up lies and says "You need to be 18 or older to get refunds." I say no and pull up the refund laws on my phone and then she says "well ok but I'm not giving it to you." That was the last straw I picked up my trash and left. The actual place is cool-ish but never coming back after this terrible experience especially that white woman with blonde hair working at the watering hole. read more

Great golf course, but whoever they had as the starter for the afternoon tee times must have been having a bad day or he is just a gigantic prick. This guy was giving our foursome shit for teeing off when the group in front of us is almost to the green on a par 5. I would like to preface with, I am not a pro or golf guru. I recently started lessons and started to dabble into the sport. That being said, I do not have a lot of experience on courses. This review is also more towards their range and staff. First thing, though they have a massive parking lot, it is so tight and narrow and just the oddest design. Not a huge fan and does not seem the most conducive. In addition, this is not the shiniest and most fancy golf course, but they have some nice amenities and it's great for a spot in the area. Their range offers the option for their TopRacer I believe, where you can play games, or keep track of your distance, similar to Top Golf. This is a lot of fun, I imagine for novices and advance players alike! The team running this, is always super friendly and helpful. They have a restaurant on site and decent cocktails, though I have not tried the food. They offer their golf shop and this past visit had a ton of free clubs up for grabs that you could use for practice, regrip or whatever else you wanted. I thought that was pretty cool. They also offer a ranch card that provide various discount on site. I will definitely update after playing 9 or 18 and utilizing more of their amenities, but overall enjoy my visits! read more

We were a group of 12 from the beginning of making our teatime to the end of our round while we enjoyed beverages and a meal in the restaurant we were treated as if we were members at a private country club. I play here regularly, but my friends all came in from out of state Every one of them we're so impressed with the personality of the members and the condition of the golf course was nothing less than spectacular. We had a fantastic round of golf. Dobson Ranch is definitely a destination thank you to Andrew, Matthew, Jeremy, gunner and Louie a special thanks to Madison in the restaurant and the rest of the team. They took great care of us. We live locally here and love this place. Will say we are here weekly and have brought many out of town visitors to check out "our fav spot" and all of them say they want to come back when they visit again. Just to name a few of the great employees there's Fianna, Maddie, Nicky and many others that are so amazing and attentive. It gets busy!! Especially when there's an event, see my recent photo of woman's golf day, but this place is on a vibe of its own and we are so happy to find this local gem.its a par 72, 18 hole championship golf course. We have the smash pass and ranch card. So we get one hour free at the range a day and a discount on food and drinks. It's the best value and I highly recommend it to anyone that lives here locally. Our first golf experience in Arizona in town for a graduation. Trying to secure a tee time was rocky as I'm a planner :) and when I called way too early to get a tee time all I needed to be told was they don't reserve until two weeks out. After a couple of email exchanges and me checking in online, I called the call center and this is how I learned of the two week window. Would have been helpful to know at that time. 18 holes paired with two others my husband and I. Beautiful weather. The staff at the golf shop was nice. Bathrooms clean. LOVE the jamming music out front by the driving range. So good and a nice touch. We didn't use the range but it was impressive. The course is really long and it's not surprising to have others on their game almost cross/run up against to you on your journey. Great first experience. Enjoyed our time yesterday! read more

Even though I had the confirmation number it seemed to be no big and if I did not like it I did not have to play because they had many people wanting too. Terrible service. Went in with my daughter to use the range, was told there was a 30 min wait. after 45 min I went inside and confirmed we were still waiting for an open spot. At 1 hour, spots opened, and patrons began using them at their leisure. I went back to the desk to ask to ask if we could use one Of the open bays, to which I was told they are closing bays 1-20 "for an event." When I asked why I couldn't use it after waiting an hour, the employee said "oh, my bad, I never put you on the waiting list." I then asked him what he checked when I went in at 45 minutes to which he replied, "that was my mistake." After an hour and a half at the range, and spending some more money on drinks, I was not able to use the range. Started taking the pins out about 15min before the sunlight went away last night. Had to finish the last 2 holes with plenty of light but no pins. Was having a great round wanting to finish it to hopefully shoot my personal best and they took the pins out and I had to aim for the middle of the green and hope to God it was good enough. It was not. Then the guy pulling the pins ignored us as he was driving away with them. Lack of class and courtesy. Clear he wanted to leave and go home. Shame. read more

My husband and I have been going here for about 5 years. This place has existed forever. Prices are affordable, the course is nice, the amenities are great. When we started going 5 years ago, the driving range was just grass and chairs. It has since in the last 2-3 years been extremely upgraded. Most of the area is shaded now, there's lights to be able to play in the dark, they have tv screens in some areas to watch sports and every bay has a screen to keep track of your balls. My husband and I have our ranch card so we can get deals on rates/times and also at the driving range. It's only $5/h to rent a bay with access to the screen and app that helps keep track of the balls and offers games. Their bar is nice, I like that they have candy bars, and frozen alcoholic drinks. And the shop area has a lot to offer. Yesterday, Jared helped us and taught us about the screen and app and how to use it it. Thanks dude. He was cool read more

Never has tee times available anymore. You have to wait until 14 days before to be able to schedule. You can't book any earlier and they constantly have events going on, so there are 0 tee times for the public on the weekends. Used to be a nice public course, but now the public can never play called for 3 weekends straight to book 2 weeks in advance and can't get a single morning tee time. read more

This place is good compared to any course in the Valley, but when you add up the value, customer service, and that its a MUNICIPAL course...holy cow. No better value in Phoenix area.
