I'm sure the word "lifetime" is supposed to make it sound like a great deal, but when I'm already paying to rent a bay and hit golf balls, charging me another $6 just to exist in the Topgolf ecosystem feels a little aggressive. Congratulations, Topgolf. I am now officially a lifetime member of something I never asked to join. And then there's the $5 soft drink. Five dollars. For a soft drink. At that price, I expected it to come with a small financial consultation and possibly a 401(k). The whole experience just felt overpriced for what you actually get. What surprised me most is how well he reads what's happening. I'll hit a bad shot and before I even say anything, he'll tell me exactly what was going through my head right before I swung. It's kind of wild. The guy's a golf whisperer. He also has solid state-of-the-art equipment set up in his garage. I was a little worried about learning off mats at first, but it turned out to be no big deal at all. The detail you get from the simulator is a game changer and makes it easy to see exactly what's going on. His personality makes the whole thing easy too. He takes his time, explains things in detail, and somehow manages to dumb it down in a way that actually sticks (which I need) LOL. He's patient, cares about you getting better, and clearly wants everyone he works with to succeed. After just one lesson my swing already felt different, and the second one confirmed I made the right call. I'd definitely recommend starting with a package if you can. I didn't at first because I wanted to make sure he was the right fit, but I can pretty much guarantee anybody who works with Navy Dave won't be disappointed. The rangers do a good job of managing pace of play. The team on the beverage cart are fantastic! The change to the greens has been a significant improvement. They roll true and fairly quick. The drainage from the bunkers is great. Twice this winter there has been some heavy rain and the course is cart path only, but the bunkers have no standing water and are still playable.

We also lucked out that the group behind us were nice and didn't judge my skills or lack there of. I do keep pace of play. We stopped by the restaurant after hole 9 to try and grab a quick bite.
