Just returned to golfing after a long time away nursing an injury. Started back at the executive courses nearby. So that's the mindset, something beyond the driving range but not a great test of my endurance. And most of all make it affordable since I may not make the round due to my injury and/or the heat. Played here in May. A friendly greeting by the staff. There was ice in the coolers and cart service as we made our round. This and the on cart GPS made it a very manageable time in the heat. The greens were in decent shape with some burn spots developing. Fairways were in okay shape but there were a few bald areas even this early in the summer. Overall this is one of the better executive courses I've played in the area. But measuring as a golf course, sub par. So take that into account. read more

It has been over 2 years since I first gave a review on Springfield Golf Resort. Not much has changed except my golf game and new clubs which I purchase from the Pro Shop after attending a series of Demo Days put on by manufacturers. And I have had the opportunity to golf at other locations since swinging my first club just months before my prior review. Springfield Golf Resort remains at 5 stars (Great) despite one negativity, inconsistant greens which is an important thing for golfers and the short game. I have seen my ball hop, skip, and jump to the hole at times, not break when it should and visa-versa. I have had missed shots due to crowns even around the hole and even role slightly back as slowly inching to the hole. But other than the greens sometimes a challenge, the greens are playable and Par's a plenty when you get used to their condition. But dont expect the PGA to come here for a tournament though. Beyond the greens, I love this executive course with so much potenial to be one of the best executive courses in the state especially for all levels with well defined fairways that offer a lot of variety and challenges in a good way to improve your golf and increase your enjoyment and golf experience. And most importantly, lots of opportunities for tree shade throughout the course for the warmer season known as hell. This course has the typical hazards of any course however the water and tree hazzards are only an issue to you if youleave the fairway in most cases. Bunkers are a different story in that they tend to congregate to the sides of the greens and a few in front here. The sand in the bunkers can at times be like hitting off soft dirt and can have poor drainage after a rain (yes that sometimes happens in Chandler) or after significant irrigating of the green/fairway; it is a non-issue if you avoid the hazard, lol. End up in the hazard and you pay the price. The people here are friendly and the staff have no equals from professionalism to friendliness in my opinion. And they do what they can to accommodate all sorts of situations to allow you to play and make it enjoyable. They have recently this year invested in new golf carts with GPS to help you range the ball to green which is noice. But it does also keep you from driving where they don't want to to go to get to your ball, again, if you leave the fairway so don't unless you like to walk. One complaint is that the mini-ice chest is super small and cant accomodate much once ice is added. The speed of play can at times seem at times slower during the week than on weekends. There are leages with mostly elderly people that play regularly during the week and this is in a 55 and older community so I found myself waiting to tee-off more during the week then weekend. Last weekday round had be 25 minutes behind normal pace of play. Rarely happens to that degree on weekends. But the staff and the new GPS carts try to mitigate slow play. They have an excellent, well marked driving range with 3 range ball bucket sizes to accommodate a short pre-round warm-up to a longer practice session at a reasonable rate. The green fees are creeping up there in price like everyplace else but remains one of the lower costs courses in Phoenix which is enhanced further by the offering of a seasonal punch cards that don't expire to help save you money and can be shared amongst others in your party. Don't forget to stop by the 19th hole after your round of golf to say hello to the very friendly staff and relax while enjoying food/refreshments and som sports on one of the many TV's. All and all, going to other courses, I have been spoiled by this one and Springfield Golf Resort serves as the basis of comparison. read more

My husband and I played a round of golf at Springfield Golf Resort with another couple back in March. Both the other woman and I are beginners, so playing an executive course like Springfield was ideal for us and still challenging for our husbands. We booked a tee time for 10:15 am on a Saturday. My husband and I arrived an hour early to practice at the driving range. At the time of our visit, the golf course was quite busy. There was a junior clinic at the driving range, which was cute to watch. We played a full 18 holes and had a wonderful experience. The course is beautiful and well maintained. Again, great for beginners. Prices are reasonable. We will definitely be back. read more

This is our third time golfing at Springfield Golf Resort. I'll start off on a positive note. The ladies and gentlemen at the entrance and in the golf club checking area are always pleasant. The putting greens were nice today; you could tell they aerated. I have nothing good to say about the bunkers (filled with swamp water), fairways (dry/patchy and extra large lawn movers right by our balls that wouldn't stop), and the most awful tees. We could rarely find a patch of grass to tee our ball on. Time to take a break from here. read more

This course is a great price for what you get! For beginners like me, this course brings on different challenges where I can use multiple clubs. We have been going here a lot since they have a summer punch pass and we recently purchased the winter punch pass. These punch passes you can share with others. It will take about 3 hours to finish. If you do an early tee time, the grass is still wet since they tend to overwater, so by the time you do the back 9 the grass is in better condition. The staff is super friendly! read more

Good greens, lower priced than other course. We came here for the first time several months ago during the summer and thought that the course was in decent condition considering it was 110° outside. We go early in the morning to avoid the blazing sun. by the 10th hole it gets pretty warm. Pace of play is about average, and I never felt rushed. The course itself feels like it's made for beginners. Lots of opportunity to work on your short game! Only major feedback is that they overwater the course so that is survived during the summer , but this means that there are parts of the grass that are quite difficult to play around sometimes impossible, especially if you hit into a puddle on the fairway. read more

Solid course. No par 5s but some longer par 3s and par 4s. The overseed came in great. The greens were a little long but rolled nice. The traps are thin in places. They have a nice practice set up, a little small but adequate. I haven't tried the restaurant, but it looks nice. Great prices for afternoon rounds. read more

This course was nice but of course on a cold January morning we had frost delay. It had some difficulty putting situations, which I appreciate so lots of fun. I played 18 there regularly for a number of years. We regularly buy punch passes and always buy drinks at the bar afterwards. We took 4 hours to play 18 as we usually do. We saw no players behind us After the round the owner scolded me like a school child for taking too long. He claimed that he had to refund other players because of our pace of play. He said we shouldn't play there if we can't do 18 in 3 hours. If you're looking for a relaxing place to play go to another course. There's too many other places to relax and play a round read more

I've played this course before and it was in pretty good shape. The website says it's in "great shape" right now. Actually the course is unplayable. Fairways torn up, greens so shaggy you need to take a full backswing to hit it 10 feet, and standing water everywhere. The people there are always friendly but this course isn't worth playing for $5. This review is to warn other players of the current conditions. I've been golfing here in the area for about 50 yrs. Im very familiar on how heat and drought work. What a great course! My husband and I came here with my sister and her boyfriend and had so much fun. We got 18 holes for a great price, took us about 3.5 hours. The grass is transitioning so there's a bunch of dead grass but the course is still gorgeous. It's stretched out amongst the community which means there are some streets you have to cross but the residents are extremely nice. The staff at the course were friendly, the golf carts are really in shape and are smooth rides. I will say the bathroom halfway through is kinda dirty and run down. But all aside I would recommend! read more

We have golfed this course a couple of times. As a beginner golfer it has been a nice place to play. Lots of short par 3 holes. The course was in moderate shape the last time we played and a little better than the first time. The round finishes with a challenging par 5 hole. I wish it ended with an easier hole so I could finish in a positive way. Lol I picked up my ball the last time and called it good after hitting it in the water once and nearly into traffic once. Clubhouse staff has been friendly and the price is good. Carts are sanitized (or wiped down) between use. No beer cart or service on the course. We didn't use the driving range. read more

Springfield Golf Club is a great executive golf course, in a gated senior community. We played there on a recent business trip, as we had a couple of people in our foursome who where new to golf. And for $19 ... The conditions were good, and there were a lot of challenging holes - especially on the back 9. The clubhouse was great too, and the food was really good. read more

This is a really great executive course! Wide open fairways with a fair amount of shady trees to cool off when parking. Well maintained and the greens looked fabulous. They had recently re-seeded so had to stay on the cart path, but it's small enough that you aren't walking forever to your ball and very few hills. The staff... literally everyone we came across... was FABULOUS. Professional, kind, thoughtful and we haven't seen a culture like that at any course in the valley. Really, really well managed. Had a reservation for 6 people all from out of town.Arrived two hours before T time ..Had a bite to eat and decided to check with the clubhouse.Was told due to cold weather they were hour and half behind..With a 1;15 T off would be hard to go off at three and get NINE holes in.NEVER got a call from the course stating they were in a delay.When I mentioned this to Club house cashier he shrugged his shoulders and not even an apology for not calling.I would never go back nor recommend to anyone with this type of customer service and I would fire the entire crew for the attitude they have. read more

Today was the first time my son and I played at this course. It's an executive course. It was very clean, and quiet. This course has a driving range, and practice putting green. The greens in this course are some of the fastest I have ever played. There are a couple of restrooms on the course, several holes have water coolers as well as ball cleaners. After the front 9 we got a bacon cheeseburger and a pulled pork sandwich from the club house restaurant to go for the back 9. The hostess/waitress/bartender was very friendly, the food was very tasty. I recommend this course to anyone wanting to play a quick 18 in a comfortable atmosphere. read more

I really love playing here. It's only a par 61, but that's good for beginner golfers, while it's not too easy as to be boring. It's kept in nice shape, the employees are helpful, and the course is very hospitable in more ways than one. There's a lot of shade along cart paths and tee boxes. The clubhouse is really nice for how cheap the course is, and the food at the restaurant is decent. All around, a great value. read more
