If you're playing in the summer, you're going to want a water refill right about here. Ice cold filtered water, better than my fridge! I always walk but if you want a cart be aware they don't have that many and can run out. They have a practice green but if you want a driving range you'll need to go a block up the street to encanto 18. Greens are decently maintained. Most holes are fairly straight; not a ton of obstacles or turns. If you are terrible at golf like I am, this offers plenty of challenge. Longest hole is about 360 if I recall correctly. No water. Only one or two bunkers on the whole course that I remember. No cart service that I recall. So you'll want to bring drinks/snacks along with you. But look, if you want a good, quick, cheap round of 9 at a good course with decent grass, there are few better options on the entire planet. I love Encanto 9 and highly recommend it for the casual golfer. Prices are very low. During summer they can be crazy low. (Like $9 sometimes). You can play another round for $5 if I recall, any time of year. You can go before work in the morning and get 9 in. During the week there aren't too many people there. I mean it's full but not packed. You can often just walk on with no tee time. Service is friendly. Clubhouse is adequate. They have a great water fountain with sonic style ice that I love. No restaurant or bar. They have a fridge with drinks but nothing fancy at all. Kirov coffee and microwaveable snacks. But you're not coming for the food, you're coming for the sub-$20 round of 9 in an hour on good grass.

I played here many times as Maryvale, first time since Grand Canyon University took over the management and maintenance of the golf course. Have to say GCU has made many improvements to the golf course, fairways are thicker with grass, greens are fast and challenging. The off fairway areas are thin to no grass and the old Tamarack Trees are the same as before . The clubhouse is the major difference, new and beautiful with nice banquet area for meeting and lunch for tournaments. Good job GCU

There were lots of rabbits and quail along the course. I was looking for rattlesnakes or other animals, but did not see any today. The golf club itself is very nice. It is connected to the restaurant. The selection of clothing and golf related items was broad. The guys running the club are very nice. They helped me get my day going, and even allowed me an earlier tee time despite my prepaid reservation time, since it was not busy. The golf carts themselves are very basic. There was no cover for rain, which sounds like it would be fine, except this day had an unexpected rain and hail storm ahead of me! I rented clubs, which was about $60. They were the taylormade Kalea clubs. Clubs were in nice condition. I also received two sleeves of balls, and tees were provided inside the cart. I made it through five holes before the rain and hail started. I took shelter in the bathroom for quite some time. The bathroom was very clean. Once the rain and hail abated, I drove in the cart through the rain back to the clubhouse. If it were not for the lightning and thunder, I would have continued playing. I was having such a great game! I didn't think the guys in the clubhouse would give me anything back for the inclement weather. However, they gave me quite the refund! They mention something about not being able to return my club fees completely. Which is totally understandable. The fees for the greens are $109. I believe the club rental was $60. In the end, I got somewhere around $140 back. I would totally play there again! I thought they would give me a rain check. I am glad they didn't, since I was visiting from out of town. All in all, a beautiful course. I wish I could've finished my game. I took a lot of pictures of the flora and fauna. Please see attached pictures. They have another course, called the Palmer course. I did not have a chance to check that out. I also did not check out the restaurant, but the menu looks amazing. Highly recommend a visit to this golf course if you're in the area.
