This is a nice little executive 9 hole course; well maintained with a good driving range, putting green and chipping practice area. It's a city course so $24 to play 9. If you have a city pass it would be less. It's a solid 4 star city course and much better than other city courses I believe. Clubhouse staff are friendly and they have drinks and snacks for purchase. Came to Arizona for hiking an laying by the pool with a possibility that we may golf. Found this course 30 minutes from where we were staying. Got a tee time the day before, rented clubs, course was short, but well maintained for how cheap it was. The workers there were AMAZING, super nice and helpful. read more

This is a fun little walkable 9 hole course right in central Phoenix. I think it's pretty cool that they have some par 4s as well too and it's not just a bunch of short par 3s. Pretty much every time I've been here I didn't even book a tee time. You can usually just show up and get on the course right away. I would hope that it would be a little cheaper for a walking rate but overall not a bad value for your dollar. read more

Went to the course to keep my boyfriend company on the 9 hole then hit some balls at the driving range. It was a humid 100° today so it was not very busy. At max, 4 other people at the driving range with us. The course is well maintained for the most part with a nice air conditioned set of bathrooms halfway through. However, there were a few large puddles which really affected a few hits. For the area it's in, there were actually a good amount of trees with shade. read more

As a beginner this is my favorite course. There's I believe 3 par 4s and 6 par 3s. Golfed here 3 times now, twice with my buddies and I did a solo 1st tee time Sunday morning. Flew through that solo I might of finished it 45 minutes if I didn't slow down a bit to enjoy the morning and sun rise. Very clean and well kept, carts are nice and clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Noticed that the sweet times to golf is early in morning or 1pm and on (March) any time in between is a traffic jam. But looks like those people are regulars and looks like a lot of fun. read more

I was walking down 15th Ave and saw this beautiful City of Phoenix golf course and decided to check it out. Even though I have only miniature golfed when a lad; I don't rule out trying regular golf sometime. The weather was gorgeous and there was a nice group out on the course. Convenient. Hidden away in central Phoenix. 9 hole executive. Basic layout, but very pleasant. Nice driving range. Reasonable pricing! And the staff is pleasant and helpful. This is a very convenient place to sharpen the short game. Three par fours and the rest are par threes. Don't be fooled, there is plenty to work for within the nine holes. The people are friendly and the putting, range and chipping practice areas are conveniently located adjacent to the first tee. This is also a good place to go to hit some practice balls without much fanfare. No driver though but that's not a deal-breaker for the convenience of being in uptown Phoenix. read more

I have been to Palo Alto twice now and have only used the practice facilities. Therefore, this review will only comment on the practice facilities. Foremost, the range is good. The grass that you can hit off of year around is definitely the highlight. The grass is usually untouched, well-kept and shuffled. Moreover, the flags on the range provide nice targets for accuracy training. The only downside is that you aren't allowed to hit drivers given there is a net set up at about 230 yards. Nonetheless, the range is a great place to work on your swing. Next, the putting and chipping greens are great. The green is an average size and has several holes and contours that make for good short and long distance putting practice. Furthermore, the chipping green is the highlight of the course. There is fairway grass, fringe, rough and a bunker to hit off of around the green. Moreover, the green is true and makes for better practice. Lastly, while the pro was nice in the shop, the man on cart staff could use a course in customer service. Upon purchasing my balls an hour before the last bucket was sold, he told me to hurry up and hit them on the range, and then continued to rush me because he wanted to pick the range and get off early. I have worked at a golf course for 6 years, and would ever do or tolerate such service. It really put a damper on my experience. Through and through, the practice facilities at Palo Alto come through how you need them to. My only critique is that the grass down the range would be grown out and better kept, the range would somehow be extended and that the pro shop and cart staff would be on the same page with customer service and logistics. read more

PALO VERDE GOLF COURSE DRIVING RANGE I had never been to this range, so I called and asked for directions. I drove 30 minutes to find out that I hadn't been informed when I called that you can only use short distance clubs. There is also no mention at their website. Ridiculous! They are too cheap to put up nets, unlike every other driving range in the world. Stay on 15th and head over to Encanto Driving range, where you are allowed to use every club in your bag. read more

I love my local golf course!! The best thing about this course is it is almost never busy. I frequently take unlimited mulligans! With only nine holes, it's perfect if you're lounging around and want to get in a quick round in the middle if the day. Sometimes I go by myself, and it's like my own private golf course. At $8 you can't beat the price! The greens are well kept, and the staff is very helpful. Only thing I wish is that I could use the driver on the driving range. Worst city course in Phoenix. Brought my family out in the middle of a Monday, was being heckled and disturbed for 5 of the 9 holes by a group of drunk, wasted women. They approached my brother while he was on his second tee off (first one went way left), and began to bully him for not hitting the ball straight. Front office guy "Ken" had nothing but an apology for us after the ladies said "Ken knows us!" - we didn't even get to finish our 9th hole due to the ladies screaming at my family telling us to "hurry the fuck up". That shows you the people they let play on this course frequently. We were threatened to be hit with golf balls by these women, and that their "husbands would fuck us up and so will Ken!" after I said I was going to the office to tell Ken what they were doing. They were yelling at the group behind them too. Go spend an extra 10 bucks to play real golf and not deal with trashy, unapologetic, unprofessional people. This place is terrible. read more

Worst customer service I've had golfing in the valley. We booked and paid for 18 holes only to be stopped on the turn and told we not only had to pay more to play the back 9 but also would be charged for our cart again. After explaining and showing them what we paid for and booked, they still refused to honor the deal. Being nickel and dimed by a second rate course is pretty ridiculous. read more

The course itself is tiny (9 holes, mostly short par 3's), but I have to rate it high because it has a GRASS driving range and they let you fill your own bucket of balls. Yeah, sometimes it's a sandbox (weekends), but I HATE hitting off those green mats. read more
