Pros: - cheap - tee boxes and fairways well kept - friendly staff Cons: - large parking lot however it was full and took a while to find parking (lots of vehicles circling looking for parking) - course is tight with all the holes close together and homes surrounding the course - difficult to find your ball on some of the holes because of all the range balls on it I feel this course overall is good for the price. He's been there three times this week. I'm sure I'm not the only one who was irritated by this. The worst was when someone asked him which hole he was shooting for, he got extremely confrontational. I also got disrupted on the first tee box from another homeless lady on drugs. Get it together guys.

Service: 2-stars - I booked a twilight tee time through GolfNow (GN) and the morning of, it was…read morecancelled. I was notified via email from GN that my cancellation request was being processed (which I never requested). So I contacted Rancho Manana's pro shop to ask what happened because I did not request to cancel my afternoon tee time. Then Tom at the pro shop told me he received a call from GN to cancel my tee time, allegedly. And of course, the tee time was booked up within an hour. So Tom tells me I can book for other open tee times instead. The resolution was for the customer to lose their original tee time, and then rebook a different tee time because the pro shop canceled my tee time erroneously. Ultimately had to book an earlier tee time and I requested for Tom to hook me up with a cheaper rate due to their mess-up. So Tom agreed and gave me a discounted greens fee. I suppose that was nice but it would have been better if he offered it in the beginning after acknowledging that he cancelled my tee time without verifying the caller who called in to cancel my tee time. Course: 4-stars - Challenging, fun tracks with decent greens. I'd say the only reason for the minus 1 star is due to the driving range being kind of small and cost of range balls - $10 for a small bag of balls? Come on - just feels like they're taking advantage of the players here. Overall: 3-stars - Had a great time with the boys and definitely would love to come back. Just sucked to have to deal with some BS the morning of my tee time. If I hadn't called GolfNow's customer service to clear things up and if Tom didn't make it right for his mistake, and me and the boys didn't have a great time, then this would be a 1-star review. But luckily, all the golfers in my group (6 players) were able to make it to an earlier tee time(s) and we worked it all out. So 3-stars for having a fun set of 18 holes.

Grand Canyon College Golf Course…read more For the old timers in Phoenix, this golf course was the former public city golf course known as Maryvale Golf Course. I played here many times as Maryvale, first time since Grand Canyon University took over the management and maintenance of the golf course. Have to say GCU has made many improvements to the golf course, fairways are thicker with grass, greens are fast and challenging. The off fairway areas are thin to no grass and the old Tamarack Trees are the same as before . The clubhouse is the major difference, new and beautiful with nice banquet area for meeting and lunch for tournaments. Good job GCU

Last time I played I checked in 7 minutes before my tee time and he says "You're late, you guys are on the tee box". No im not. No we weren't. There was still a group a head of us waiting to tee off. Its always some kind of rude remark. Its 8am on a Saturday. We pay a lot of money to be here. Were all excited we finally have a day where we can enjoy a round of golf. Its not that hard to put a smile on your face and not try to ruin the fun for others.
