Because of slow service at the tables, we pulled up chairs at the bar. Bartenders were friendly and drinks were good. VERY limited menu. Food was good, but portions were small. $13 is a lot for a dozen wings with no sides. But, they did taste good. read more

The old Cafe was just fine, good food and great small town ambiance, with the renovations I'm not sure why the food and service changed. Our food took forever to Cooke out and it came out in installments. The food was terrible, my chili tasted like it was out of a can! Cool place and the food others seemed to be eating looked good but service is a bust. Wasted an hour to sit for a table and nobody even showed up to take an order after waiting another 20 mins once seated. Way too many tables for only three servers working who also had to bus tables. Be honest with customers-- especially those waiting with kids-- when you're too understaffed for a visit. We had to get up and leave with empty tummies! read more

This appears to be a small business where the staff is incredibly friendly and has a loyal following. There was always someone waiting to order. I intended to order the catfish special, but when I was told it was fillet, I decided to go with something else. I ordered chicken tenders and fries. In retrospect, I probably should have gotten curly fries or fried okra. The food I received was ok, but not great. I've tried the Gin several times now...Idk why this place is known for the pizza. Their pizza is terrible. Every time we've tried it it's been either "floppy" or burnt. The rest of the food is inconsistent. My turkey sandwich was given to me on a raw English muffin. The fried pickles and burgers were very good. The staff is sweet but SLOW and most do not wear masks. I will probably continue to patronize the Gin sporadically because it is a small family owned local business but I'll make sure I have a lot of time to waste and I'll stick to the burger and fried pickles. read more

Only half of the staff were wearing masks and no one was wearing it properly. The bartenders weren't wearing masks at all and there was no social distancing. We turned around and left. I was disappointing because this was our first time going out since covid and there were no precautions. The Gin is close for me to go to, but if we decide to venture out again we will go somewhere further away that has safety measures in place. We really liked this place pre-covid. read more

This is the third time I've been here for breakfast. First time, the girl at the counter seemed very put out we had the audacity to order any food and completely irritated when I asked for no green peppers in my omelette. Second time, there was a large black hair hiding under my pancake. When told about it, girl at counter rolled her eyes. No "I'm sorry". The owner (I think?) gave me a cinnamon bun after I returned my plate but only after about 2 min of "gee, sorry about that". Third time, this morning. You have to wait in line to order, then get your table--which is exactly what we did. My husband was signing the credit card receipt, I got the cups for our drinks and sat down. Immediately, I was confronted by some lady who very rudely and loudly (without a 'good morning' or 'excuse me') said "you can't sit till you order)--EVEN THOUGH I HAD THE DRINK CUPS YOU GET AFTER ORDERING AND PAYING. I said I knew the rules and I have the cups. She just said sorry and walked away. I'll tell you, the food is ok but not good enough to warrant rude behavior and hair in my food. read more

We first came here 2.5 years ago when we were looking at areas to build our new home. We stop by thinking "home cooking" but they use a lot of frozen foods and little taste in their dishes. We tried it 3-4 times and the food is just not good. We never tried breakfast and maybe that's better but I'd rather eat at home. Way too long of a wait for average food, especially the one time we were there with young kids. The manager had a misconception that our food was the problem - no, pizza was just fine. The problem was other (more obvious money folk) tables being served first - and us often being forgotten about. I had to use tissues out of my purse as napkins. Never got red pepper. Drinks took longer than the other tables we watched getting served on the reg. I felt like I should have brought a more expensive purse, my paycheck stub and proof of ownership of the property I own to compete for service. The live entertainment is incredible. But what keeps us coming back are the people. The owner, general manager, and all the servers are wonderful and a joy to be around. Sometimes it's crowded.
