Hubby had been told that Castaway's has the best wings in town & he wanted to try them out. I'm glad we chose to go here. The food was really good. Yeah, it's the standard bar food on the menu, but it was brought out hot & fresh off the grill. Seasoning was just right. Service was quick & friendly, too, but without hovering over us while we ate. We also must have beat the St Paddy's Day crowd as there were maybe a dozen customers while we were there. If we were going to be in the area longer, I'd definitely return.

The entire town of Georgetown south Carolina is down to earth, decent and so is Castaway. Castaway is on the boardwalk. It shares the back with the boardwalk while the entrance is on front street with a variety of different food spots for foodies. The set up is for laid back chill, having fun boots on the table hanging out environment with the best southern charm, decent people though you may not have met them in your life, will treat you as equals, great you and wish you well with truthful and good intentions. The food is the review. I ordered grilled shrimp, chicken tenders and grilled chicken, must have been hungry. The shrimp was moist and tender, to perfection except the fishy smell hanged around for ages even after hours. Chicken tenders were huge and better than all the fast food stuff made from bone meat. Grilled chicken breast was awesome, juicy and delicious. Fries, side salad to the point. This is was a great surprise for me and we may judge this place front entrance and the atmosphere but it showed me the people decency, awesome food and the southern charm made my day. Castaway is a diamond in the ruff. Find this place and enjoy the people. Plus the food. I enjoyed every bit of both.

Here's a fun, original review you can post for Buzz's Roost:…read more If you're driving from Charleston to Myrtle Beach after work, do yourself a favor and skip the predictable Taco Bell drive-thru. Instead, take a scenic detour to Georgetown's charming Front Street and Riverwalk, where dinner feels like the start of a mini vacation. We pulled into Buzz's Roost around 8 p.m. on a cool, damp Friday night in May, and the New England clam chowder was exactly what the doctor ordered. Warm, creamy, and comforting, it melted away the stress of the workweek with the very first spoonful. Our blackened fresh fish sandwiches were outstanding. The fish was perfectly cooked, and the seasoning had just the right kick to remind you that simple food can still be unforgettable. The atmosphere is one of my favorite parts. With its exposed brick interior and waterfront setting, Buzz's Roost feels like a cozy warehouse transformed into a laid-back riverfront hangout. Friendly service made us feel right at home, and the skeeball and foosball tables were tempting enough that we're already planning a return visit. I can easily picture coming back on a warm summer evening--or even during football season--to soak in the Riverwalk views, enjoy a great meal, and unwind. They also brew their own beer, which is a nice touch. My only wish is that they offered a non-alcoholic beer on draft for those of us making the road trip and keeping it light. Buzz's Roost is more than just a restaurant stop--it's a reminder that sometimes the best part of the journey is pulling over and discovering a place you can't wait to revisit.

Service was great except our waiter did not check back for some time and I literally had to ask a passing server for a refilling of water. But everyone was polite and the smiles seemed very genuine. Every dish felt curated and intentional. We started with the crab dip and corn bread and both were delicious. The Miso butter that comes with the cornbread gave it such a pleasant Umami note. For dinner we had the Chicken, Scallops, Pork Chop, and Shrimp and Grits. The carrot puree that held the scallops was so smooth, sweet, and rich. It complimented the scallops perfectly. My shrimp and grits were fantastic. The grits were the perfect texture, and the shrimp cooked to perfection. The bone in pork chop was perfectly cooked, was seasoned so well, and extremely tender and juicy. I think I was most impressed with the chicken, sweet potatoes, and bacon jam. It's hard to explain but the bourbon bacon jam almost tasted like how it smells when they smoke a cocktail, in the best way. The sweet potatoes tasted incredible and balanced out the savory chicken. I really can't recommend this resteraunt enough. From the food, to the service and the ambiance, everything was fantastic. I've dined at a handful of Michelin starred resteraunts and the overall quality and completion of the dishes here easily competes and surpasses those experiences. Thank you for such a wonderful dinner
