Nice local place to get southern food. I went for lunch and have been here before. Recently had the country style steak with beans, corn, and cornbread. They were all very tasty. A little salty but still good. The last time I was there I did get the fried chicken which was very good. Service was good especially for a busy lunch crowd. A lot of locals frequent the restaurant. Super local breakfast this morning in this place that was filling up with people who live here in Georgetown. I an inexpensive breakfast, served by a friendly young lady with a smile. Excellent coffee, eggs, corned beef hash and toast. Perfect. And after breakfast, this was my office for an hour or two until the Sun came up. It's late on a weeknight and I'm driving through Georgetown. A red neon "RESTAURANT OPEN" sign gets my attention and I say to myself "Self, an open restaurant, just what I need." I bounce over the curb to get to the weird parking spot, leaving the exit for future me to worry about, present me is ready to eat. I walk in and it's a sleepy feeling diner with a large bar at the front and a pretty large dining area. I hop up to the bar and take a seat to be quickly greeted. I have no idea what they're known for so I put my faith and future in the waitresses hands. The suggestion is a fried chicken club, which I obviously oblige. Not something I'd order but we're on an adventure. As someone very close to me once said, "tots are tots are tots", and she was right. But the club was pretty good. About $15 for dinner. I'd say it was priced fairly. I'm not familiar with the culinary scene of the area, but this place appears to be a safe bet for a safe meal. read more

Was real excited reading reviews on how great the food was but when we arrived at 10:30 were told only lunch was being served. Although menu states 11:00-3pm for lunch. So asked for togo cups for coffee. When talked to hostess she said they transitioned from breakfast to lunch at 10:30am. My response is you may want to let those arriving know that-because WHO eats lunch at 10:30am. The young waitress did not smile so not sure if all reviews are from locals. If you are not a local not sure they want your business. Too bad we are good tippers. Hope this review helps out of town folks make a better choice for breakfast. read more

It is what it is. It is a quintessential, southern diner that serves absolutely excellent food, has friendly service, nice quantities and without a doubt makes you want to come back for more. It is such a nice change to be able to go to a place like this, instead of a national chain as The food is not mass produced, the service is friendly and overall the whole experience is consistent. I was only in town for a few days but went back there three times to eat. I give 150% of a positive review and encourage anybody in the Georgetown area to eat here. read more

We were recommended this place after the first two places we tried to eat at in Georgetown were closed. This reminds us a lot of our favorite hometown family diner/restaurant. We arrived at 2:30pm to get takeout and our order was taken quickly. I got the fried shrimp platter, and husby got the fried pork platter. Both came with two sides - we got fries, steamed veg/green beans. The food was SOOOO good. The breading on the fried shrimp was so light, crispy, with just the right seasoning (not too salty). The fried pork chops were juicy and the breading was crispy too (a touch salty for my taste, but husby thought it was good). The steamed veg were good. The green beans were tasty. Everything was very lightly seasoned which we really liked so we could control our level of sodium. The restaurant appeared clean, had a sanitation station by the register, and all the waitstaff were masked up. Parking is a little crazy... pulling in is okay, but to back out of your spot, you'll have to back out directly into the main road which can get a little busy. We definitely recommend this restaurant and if we're ever in Georgetown, we'll be back! read more

I wish I could give this store 0 stars. I've never been treated this poorly at a restaurant. I ordered the daily special. It was friend chicken, corn, rice and banana pudding. After 35 minutes, the waitress decided to only bring out the chicken and rice. They ran out of corn. No comment on the banana pudding. The waitress only filled our cups once, and never thought to give our group a refill. The store was not busy. After an hour, I decided to quit waiting around and check out. I told the cashier to take the two sides that never came to me off of the tab. She then told me that the price was firm. I asked if they could offer a slice of cake to make things right. She replied by saying it'll be a $3 up-charge. In all, I paid for food I didn't receive. I've been coming here for years, and this place has always been solid. My coworkers and I will no longer support this business. It seems as if the treatment was "personal". read more

This restaurant was recommended to me so this was our place to stop after a visit to Charleston. I am giving this 4 rating because it took a whole hour to finally get our meal. For the large size restaurant there is a one-person restroom for both men and women, so you may wait to get into the bathroom. It took 10 minutes just to get our waters to the table. Once we got our food, we were HAPPY! Amazing country food! Friend chicken is amazing. My wife said her shrimp and grits were awesome. This restaurant packs in the flavor. If you are looking for incredible country/southern cooking look no further. This was our first time and hopefully this isn't the norm, glad we had time on our side.
