Great Southern Comfort food buffet and wonderful hospitality. My favorite side dish was a truly amazing potato salad and the fried chicken was great as well. You won't find a nicer or friendlier staff. Fried chicken was crispy, juicy and delicious. Buffet style with great southern sides, mac & cheese, rice, mashed potatoes, gravy, limas, greens and more. Good southern home cooked buffet with a friendly staff. I wish they were more consistent with their hours of operation; we live close by and there are hours posted that don't seem to be strictly followed, but whenever we drive by and see they're open, we stop! read more

Best fried chicken around!! This is a buffet and they always have chicken, mac&cheese, green beans and then other good stuff alternates. Today we had the best apple cobbler! The people are super nice. Great place for lunch. read more

Not my norm, but a welcome surprise. Be prepared; you are about to dine in a strangers living room...with 50 other strangers! So, I am taking a Sunday drive with my parents and they head toward Georgetown. I've driven this route with them a hundred times before if I've driven it with them once, and every time we've gone by this place, my mother has to comment "looks like they're closed today," or "Jen, have we had you to eat there yet?" On this day, Mom would call it out for my Dad to slow down so she could peer down the lane to check for cars parked out front, obviously her way of determining their hours of operation. Admittedly, when we parked alongside the place, I wasn't keen on even going in - after all, we were about to enter what looked like, AND IS, a meet-up location for the local Lyons Club. Once in and seated (lucky for us I guess to even get a table given the after church popularity of this place), I visually took in the flags and officer's plaques and Lyons brethren ephemerae all over the place. And then, I see the buffet. Assuming my parents are either seriously strapped for money in their retirement years, or just flap-gasp mad, I said nothing, just followed their lead. And it was good...really good in fact...like what my Grandmother would cook for Sunday supper at home good. I won't exaggerate, this place isn't going to stop somebody who hasn't ever eaten there and look appealing. But to those who know what they're in for, it's a hidden gem. Everything from ambrosia to green salad, mashed potatoes and stuffing, dirty rice, cole slaw, battered fish, some bad-ass mac and cheese, meatloaf, butter beans, and what I was told was the best fried chicken around - and it was. Everything is homemade. They only open two to three days out of each week and I'm guessing the food varies from day to day. If you can get past the VFW hall 'feel' and peer beyond to the banana pudding and Jell-O mold, you'll leave stuffed, just like Sunday supper at Grandma's. read more

My family and I were traveling through Georgetown and was hungry for anything but fast food. Found this spot on my navigation system and decided to give it a try...WOW...jackpot. The service was friendly and prompt. The food was outstanding. It was like eating the best home cooked meal you could want. I knew something was up because the place was full of Grandmas who I'm sure could cook for themselves but chose to eat Sunday dinner here. Oh and the desert I had was against the law good. Blueberry pineapple cobbler. We left miserable but happily fed. I got to speak with Deborah while I was cruising the buffet for the third time I think. I enjoyed speaking with her, she was very friendly. I will definitely eat there again next chance I get. read more
