We drove up from Charleston, SC for Fathers Day. I was hesitant to drive 90 minutes each way for lunch, but the the experience at Belle Isle Bistro was great. It was raining when we arrived which changed our plans to eat outside but inside wasn't too cramped. The staff from servers to cooks were all hard working and on top of things. We appreciated the manager checking in on us and coming out to talk about gators when we were on the deck. The food was also pretty good. My father in law enjoyed his special margarita. I thought the BBQ burger was rather good as well. My daughter enjoyed her bacon and pancakes. The bathrooms were clean and well kept. Parking was a breeze outside. And to top it off the check was reasonable. We will definitely be back. read more

It's BYOB and we didn't realize that. We were in the mood for an ice cold beer and were slightly disappointed. But honestly the food and service was bar none and we would 10/10 go back again - we would just have a bucket of cold beer with us next time. It's family owned and run. Highly recommended. read more

Found this place traveling from Myrtle Beach to Charleston. A bit out of our way, but so worth it. Excellent food, friendly servers! We had the ahi tuna, loaded fries and crabby stack. All are amazing! Lovely view overlooking the Winyah Bay. Will definitely be back! read more

Our Motorcycle lunch ride was to this restaurant, Belle Island Bistro. It is located along the marina of the Belle Island Yacht Club development. There is a gate where you dial the restaurant code and they open the gate to enter the neighborhood. It is a very nice neighborhood with winding, tree covered roads leading to restaurant he marina. There is seating for about 20 inside and maybe 30 outside overlooking the marsh and marina (see pics). Our server, Breslyn/Breslin? was absolutely wonderful. It is a family run restaurant, Breslyn (server) is the daughter. The Father and mother operate, cook etc. We ordered the BLT, Flounder Poboy, several types of burgers, grilled cheese and super loaded French fries. Everything was delicious. They make their own ranch dressing and tarter sauce, very good. They also brew their own citrus ale beer which was perfect for the hot ride. I highly recommend this restaurant! read more

The food was excellent. We made reservations for the 10 of us for brunch on Sunday. They set up a heated tent out on their deck. It a comfy and had a great view of the marina. The service was excellent. The food was incredible. It was amazing that everything was prepared by one chef. We are looking forward to going again for the food, service, and beautiful location. First, food was REALLY good. Shrimp and Grits (homemade grits) and beautifully spiced shrimp with delicious sausage. SO GOOD! Friends had fish & chips (great choice) but the burgers were phenomenal (think about the thick ones you make on your own!). My wife had the BBQ one with bacon and bacon jam, with an onion ring. After my Shrimp and Grits I had to finish off her burger. No words! I'm definitely going back for both! Located in a gated community south of Georgetown so a bit of a journey to get there, get in, wind around the community. Do it, worth it! It's on the waterfront, we arrived in the dark (and a cold night at that) so went inside. I think 4 tables total (they take reservations if concerned). Inside were some locals hanging out but happily made way for our party of 4 to sit. The setting is the opposite of formal, basically a few tables in the kitchen area, haha. Kevin, the owner, is a super nice guy. He and his wife recently opened it and kids help out. We felt like family hanging out. Lots of waterside tables and they are weatherproofing some for year-round dining (will be so much fun there!). Overall, we felt like we found a secret gem of our hangout with the best food! Oh my goodness what a sweet find. I was searching for a Sunday lunch location in the Georgetown area and this little gem had such wonderful reviews so I called and made reservations for 9. I was a little concerned as it was a cold rainy day when we arrived. They asked us upon arrival if we would be okay in the covered, heated outdoor seating area or they would make room for us inside. How accommodating is that. We had the area to ourselves which was perfect to get together with friends and family. Service was absolutely outstanding. The food was brought out covered so it was kept dry. We were all amazed at the quality of the food and the serving sizes. The chef came out to make sure everything was satisfactory. We were traveling from Charleston to MB and were looking for a place for an early dinner when we found this gem! Located right on the beautiful Winyah Bay, it's a small, family owned and operated delight. A small place with only a few tables inside but lots of outside seating with many in an enclosed deck area. We started with an order of tater tots with ranch dressing. My son is a chef and he said the ranch was almost as good as his and the tots were a perfectly cooked. You could tell the oil was fresh and the tots were crunchy on the outside and perfectly cooked on the inside. We also had the shrimp basket, fish basket and tuna tacos. The shrimp were cooked just right but the seasoning was a bit too salty in my opinion. The tuna tacos were good but the aioli was too salty. The fish and fries were delish. If they could cut back on the salt a bit this would have been a perfect meal. They have shrimp and grits for dinner but we were too early. So, we will go back! Their fried seafood platter was delicious, especially the crab cakes and the shrimp. I would also recommend their brisket Philly sandwich.
