Love this place so much! Along with the coffee, the whipped cream is AMAZING. I came here 3 times…read morewhile I was in town for two weeks and ordered the same thing each time. I am a creature of habit and like what I like when it's good. First off, the coffee shop is very local with a number of tables and chairs to sit at and enjoy your order. In addition to a large variety of coffee/flavors, there are a number of bakery items and small a la carte items available. There are also so many packaged coffee options to go. Each time, I ordered a medium hot salted caramel latte with oat milk and, you guessed it, whipped cream. It comes out of a bag and probably straight from heaven. Perfect to enjoy by the water for a sunrise, sunset, or both!

This lively coffee shop is a fantastic spot for a casual meeting or catching up with a friend. This…read moremorning, it had a vibrant energy. Plenty of folks enjoying their drinks, chatting, and soaking in the atmosphere. I grabbed a seat at one of the larger tables, hopped on the wifi, and ordered a coffee to start the day. Their menu is impressively broad, with a huge selection of coffees and a generous array of breakfast, lunch, and brunch options--everything from baked goods and sandwiches to salads and smoothies. There's truly something for everyone. The wifi worked just fine, and the atmosphere was warm and spirited. It's the kind of place that buzzes with conversation and community. I stayed for about an hour, and it was clear this spot is a local favorite. Can a place be too popular? Maybe--but that's part of its charm. I will be going back whenever I am craving fried catfish since it is close and it tastes great. Service is also pretty good. One star taken off because the interior feels a bit dated, so I likely will only be ordering out. Still very worth it.

Came to Captain Bob's for a late lunch on a Friday and found the place mostly empty. The only other…read morepatrons who were there were enjoying the buffet but there was steady to-go business. The interior of the restaurant is loaded with ocean and sea items, as you'd expect. The tables and chairs are a mishmash mostly consisting of, what I'd call, banquet chairs. Mine had a pretty big rip in it and a mighty wobble that must have meant to make me feel like I was on a boat. The server took my order. I got a hot dog and fries and asked if they could put their pimento cheese on the hot dog (if you haven't tried it, you should!). The server said she would have to ask and I said that I was happy to pay extra if needed. What came next was so odd. I could hear the entire conversation from the kitchen. Server: This guy wants to know if we can put pimento cheese on a hot dog. Cook: What? That's weird. Server: Yea, but that's what he wants. Cook:.....No. Tell him we don't have any. Server: Ok. So the server came back to my table and said they didn't have any. So I just got ketchup and mustard. The dog was fine. The fries were under-seasoned. Really, after hearing that convo, I was just ready to leave. The sign out front says that "There's only two places to eat..Home and Captain Bob's..." well I can put pimento cheese on my hot dogs at home so I don't need to return to Captain Bob's.
