What a nice little American pub fare family restaurant. Gave me a diner vibe. Really good service and good food. I had a club sandwich. Came on a chunky bread, which I really appreciate! Plain loaf bread doesn't hold up well to the stress of a club, really excellent choice there! I also got onion rings, they were fantastic when they were hot, really greasy as they cooled off. Constructive criticism, wipe down your condiment containers. They were so sticky. Everything else was really clean. The service was prompt and pleasant. read more

I had the club sandwich and fries, and my wife had the chicken sandwich with pasta salad. The food was great and service was fantastic. The restaurant was very clean. Make sure to check out the lemon cake and cookies at the counter as they rock! Highly recommend and we will be back. Thanks again! read more

Amazing! The Oyster Bar is fantastic. The steamed and fried seafood are so delicious . We highly recommend this restaurant!

This is a good locally owned restaurant and makes the best burgers in the area, hands down. I eat here several times a month and always enjoy it read more

Great place for a quick snack when heading up 17N toward Va. The food was delicious and the service was fast. Ambiance was fitting for a grill. We all had different items and all approved. read more

Good is amazing, our go to place when coming through Hertford. Cat fish nuggets are amazing and the fried pickles are perfect. Salads are generous and fresh. Friendly staff and very clean. read more

Good food! Well serviced. Friendly atmosphere. I'll definitely be going back. The food tasted great too!

Visited mid afternoon one other person at the bar. Interior is pleasant and bar restaurant acceptable. Ordered two beers on tap from a local brewery in Elizabeth City, Ghost Harbor Brewing Company. As a beer connoisseur it was very clean and right on par for the style. I could have enjoyed many more. Appetizer was loaded fries with a very good cheese sauce and bacon. The cheese sauce wasn't like 7-11 cheese but a delicious blend. I had the chili cheese burger and the wife a fiesta chicken roll up. The chili had a good strong flavor almost over powering the meat flavor. The chicken roll up an excellent combination of flavors. I recommend the 252 Grill and suggest you give it a try, cheers! read more

This is a really nice friendly quiet and inexpensive family restaurant. Prices are reasonable and the food is awesome, especially the seafood bar. The staff is very attentive and friendly as well. Lots of stuff to choose from on the menu, and best of all, they don't gouge you on wine! Lots of craft beer choices as well. read more

Excellent service. Food was above average, but not amazing. Upscale environment with comfortable atmosphere.

Stopped by for some lunch at 252 Grill, Hertford NC. Visiting from out of state. A small spot just outside of town. A nice quiet country setting allowing you to sit outside or dine in; half is a restaurant and the other half a small bar. I had the lunch special today, one grilled shrimp and two fried beer batter cod tacos. Both were very good and tasty and a coffee. My server was Alexis who was very personable and polite. Thank you for the good service. It was great to enjoy a nice quiet lunch on a beautiful day. The menu had a good selection, and the restaurant itself was very clean and inviting. Great place to enjoy a lunch. I'll be back! read more

The Buffalo Chicken sandwich is the BEST. I find myself going other places and nowhere else comes close to this one! The sweet potato fries are amazing too. Service, atmosphere and speed of service are top tier. I always choose 252 when in Hertford, NC. read more

Food is pretty good! Salad bar could use a little more of a variety. Last trip our service was slow but they were extremely busy which was not a big deal! Wait staff was attentive. I'll go back again and again read more

They went for it.....they nailed it. A great addition to an already dependable spot. Great service, oysters, oh that sauce, and pitchers of beer. Well done read more

Had "grilled" chicken Cobb salad today.... The chicken was not fresh- it was like the fake grilled marked kind that tastes squishy. I would not recommend...the salad part was great! read more

Just a plain local shop, slowly shifting to be more upscale with inside and outside dining, and sometimes Friday night live entertainment. They've never got my order wrong and I like to support the local little guys. read more

That's right interesting kind a cool way definitely different. Interesting menu lots of good stuff we tried a few things would like to try some more some other time. Service was good place is clean. The burger I tried I enjoyed it was cooked just right looking forward to another visit to try another. Only negative I would have little heavy on the deep-fried sweet potato fries and the shrimp Deep-fried Oil either it was not up to temperature or old oil, just wasn't right. The other dishes we had were OK no complaints actually look forward to another visit sometime. read more

Not sure how they have all these rave reviews. The Reuben was edible because I was starving. Cheese wasn't melted, meat wasn't warm. The cajun fries dont have any cajun flavor. Onion rings could literally be rung out with a napkin with all the grease in them. Hot dog was good. Wont be back. Service was nice and they did offer to make another ruben. read more

The waitress was awesome, sweet tea delish! But...the rest of the fare was not anything more than average. Fish & chips were frozen fish fillets. Hamburger "steak" was a hamburger patty (overcooked) topped with gravy. The mashed potatoes are not homemade. The side salads but the dressing is not made in house. The pork chops were fried almost to the point of tough. Really disappointing, was hoping good ole Hertford would get one decent restaurant to take visitors to. Not a do-over for us. read more

Great food! Everything we order from here is delicious! My guys and I especially love their burgers.

Expensive for the quality of food. Taste is also a hit or miss. The staff is extremely friendly.

Great fried chicken sandwiches and even better service and great cold crisp yeungling draft

While on vacation, we came upon the 252 Grill. After reading other Yelp reviews, we decided to give it a try.....and we're glad we did. We both got the hamburger steak and homemade coleslaw. One of us got mashed potatoes (real potatoes with some skins) and one got fries which were great. Service was great; friendly. We wish we lived closer so we could come more often. read more

This is my favorite restaurant in Hertford... always fresh ingredients and great service and food

Mom and I went in for an early dinner on a Saturday. I ordered the chicken and bacon spinach salad and Mom got the fish n chips basket. Greasy spoon diner. The service was good and the food decent. Okay place for lunch. I took some clients here for lunch. I heard the burgers are good but that seemed way too heavy for lunch. read more

A nice restaurant for that business lunch or a dinner out......almost. If this was an established restaurant if would have received no more that 2 stars, but I'll give it a second chance to work our the hiccups. Decor is clean and neat, better atmosphere for a lunch than a nice dinner out in the evening. Tablecloths and dimmer lights would make for a great evening ambiance. While on the topic of decor, let me suggest doing away with live flowers. We had a vase of flowers on the window sill next to our table...flowers and leaves with wilted and browning, not very appetizing. The menu for lunch is fantastic, offers quite an extensive menu. Dinner menu was much smaller at 7 entrèes---3 beef, 1 pork, 1 fish and 1 fowl. In fairness the lunch menu is available for dinner as well (I thing???). The restaurant was busy on this Saturday night at 6:30 pm, with only 2 wait staff it made for less than stellar service. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful, but very hurried. She would fly by the table drop things off and asked how we were doing, but was a block away before we could answer. This we are sure will improve. Our wait for our meal was not unreasonable given how busy they were, short staffed and being a new restaurant. All menu items are well described and we thought reasonably priced. My dinner partner had Fish & Chips, the portion was a bit small but not terribly so considering an $8.00 price. Fries and fish were a beautiful golden brown, but very oily, an almost certain result of not hot enough oil. Other than the oil the fish was flaky and tasted just fine. Now to my meal. Let me first explain, I love my red sauce BBQ and was so excited to see Boneless Pork Ribs on the menu. Described as: "Applewood smoked country cut ribs slow cooked and mopped with our house made sweet & spicy BBQ sauce". It featured 3 off the bone pieces of rib meat, less generous that expected, but not bad at $11. The problem is that the meat looked like it had sat under a heat lamp, having a dried crusty appearance. As to the mopped on sauce, the mop must have only one strand, barely enough to taste (which by the way was deliciious....I want more of that sauce). The dish came with two sides, I selected onion rings and macaroni & cheese. The onion rings looked beautiful, but suffered from the same not hot enough oil as my partners fish. The rings quite literally drip when picked up. The Mac & Cheese was the worst thing of the night, dried out and just barely lukewarm. In spite of a less that stellar performance, I have every expectation that once the "new" is worked out this could be THE place to eat in Hertford, we certainly need it. I give it 3 based on potential and hope. BYI beer and wine coming. read more

The food was pretty good. Decent selection and reasonably priced. Kitchen had our meal out quickly. Had the 252 burger, Cobb salad, zinger burger, and grilled pork chops. Cost about 12 per person. Waitress was off her game though. Ambiance was a little sparce, but some intersring wall decor. I would go back. read more

So glad to have another choice of food around this area, especially one that is open normal hours. Thought the food was fantastic and service was great!! Loved the unique choices for burgers and sandwiches..not just your ordinary run of the mill. Thought pricing was reasonable and meal was well worth every penny!--you get what you pay for! The building is very nice and spacious. Certainly don't leave out dessert because they have some killer ones!!! My friends and family are already talking about when we can go back. read more

This is my favorite spot to get a burger in Eastern NC. There is no mistaking the taste of a fresh hand formed hamburger patty, top this with a tomato that tastes like its fresh from my garden and you can't beat it.
