I hated taco bell. But somehow my husband convinced me to eat here...and now I love THIS taco bell specifically.

This Taco Bell is the fucking worst. Waited for over 15 minutes in the drive thru and gave up. Avoid this place. They suck.

We miraculously found parking right in front of the door, and when we stepped inside we all kinda gave a look to each other. The inside does not match the advertising. There were flies EVERYWHERE, the place looked a little unkept, there was a bar full of drunks, including one that kept hitting on my underage niece. There was another drunk that literally came up to our table and held us hostage with his droning on and on about who knows what. We were trying to be polite but also giving him many hints that we didn't enjoy the conversation. When the food FINALLY came it was honestly very unappealing. Nothing looked like what we thought it would. One of the burritos was stuffed with fries to an excessive degree. And my burrito was actually soggy... and not by any delicious juices coming from the food. It honestly felt as though it had gotten wet before it was used to wrap up the ingredients. We all barely ate the food and were happy to get out of there. The waitress we had was actually very nice... she was the only appealing thing about the entire experience.

By chance we were in E-City yesterday so we decided to visit our favorite restaurant in the area only to find out things have changed in the last few years. The service was the same (great) and the decor had been updated with tasteful art. The only bad changes were sadly the most important part- the food! We ordered some street tacos and asked for radishes only to be told they don't come with them (they previously had, and were something that lent authenticity to the food). The salsas that came with the tacos were also different, and not in the good way; mostly bland with a little spice- not at all how they were previously. Lastly, my son ordered his favorite cheese steak fries appetizer and we were surprised to find that the portion size had been drastically reduced. Ultimately I know that restaurant business is tough and some cost control measures have likely taken place here- but the quality of the food shouldn't dip because of that. We loved La Tiendita but after yesterday we won't be stopping by again.

I love authentic tacos but it does not exist here. We would go to Taco Bell before we come here…read morefor tacos. Great establishment. Staff is always friendly. The building could use some improvements but it is nice and cozy. The menu compared to authentic Mexican restaurants is very different. Especially if you're from the southwest border or Hispanic. We have come here a couple times in the last couple years and it is okay. Not very flavorful and a bit bland. Large portions if you love rice and beans and salt and pepper. As for the tacos it was our first time coming here for that on taco Tuesday. We wanted to try their $1 tacos. And I must say you get what you pay for LOL It is like a taco out of a box and if you enjoy that for a $1 with no flavor come here. However you will not find flavor or options here. We ordered 12 tacos. All that was available was ground beef and shredded chicken. And it was just that with some bland cheese and lettuce on cold tortillas. So, if you're looking for authentic tacos this is not the place to explore. But if your looking for below basic and have no expectations, enjoy some salt and pepper, and saving money it's worth a shot. We were able to give our leftovers to a homeless person in the area and we then went to plaza azteca to enjoy authentic tacos for taco Tuesday.

We have been going there well over 5 years once a month or more. Great service and great food…read more Family owned and run,and you can tell the difference. Consistently good.

We were given chips and salsa quickly and our drink orders taken. Once we got our meals (which was literally just minutes after we ordered it) we were all out of drinks and I had to flag our waiter down for new ones. And by that time my meal was almost gone. The pricing on the food seemed a little high. Overall the food was okay. We wanted to try this location because it's the only Mexican restaurant in the city we haven't tried. While mostly everything went smoothly, everyone in our party agreed we liked a different Mexican place more. Plaza Azteca comes in (and ties for) 3rd place according to my family's ranking of EC Mexican restaurants.

The chips and salsa were disappointing. The chips were stale and the salsa was made with canned tomatoes, nothing fresh or lively tasting, no spice level to speak of. I tried the pork tacos al pastor, more like pork fat tacos, greasy and awful mouth feel. I asked for the spicy tomatillo salsa, which came out red (!). When asked why the tomatillo salsa was red, the runner explained it was because they make it with chile de arbol. Huh? Chile Serrano goes in tomatillo salsa. I ordered the Texas nachos. There was plenty of well-seasoned and well-prepared protein. Then, the stale chips with an insipid cheese sauce, gooey and tasteless. No sour cream, no guacamole, no pickled jalapeños on the plate. I would have preferred to pay the same amount for half the portion if it came with quality toppings. I don't think anyone who works in the kitchen knows what Mexican food should taste like. The restaurant was pretty, otherwise, it was an entirely unsatisfactory experience. They received two stars because the server did the best he could. I won't go back.

When she got back we gave her our drink orders, our appetizer orders, and our entree orders. A few tables were sat after ours but handled by a different waitress and all of their appetizers and food came out before ours. Not a huge deal but aggravating. When the table that was sat after us and ordered way after us got their food I inquired with the waitress about our appetizer and she said it would be coming up soon. I feel like that most have been when she put our order in because about 10 minutes later we got our app and about 15 minutes after that we got our dinner. Overall we were there for 2 hours for what should have been less than an hour visit. If the food wasn't so good, I would have given up on this place a long time ago.

Very good choice - the cod fillets were tender and well cooked and came with thick cut Parmesan French fries and smashed mint peas. We said "smashed mint peas"?? It's more of a garnish but delicious - and they are! Excellent experience. The ambiance is fun with lots of fun posters, objects, and a talking skeleton. We really enjoyed ourselves.
