Potion Explosion
Meiyi Y.

The place was quite empty on a Tuesday afternoon, but it quickly filled up in the evening. They had a great variety of games although some of them were in old condition. The potion explosion was a matcha with sweet strawberry puree and crunchy aloe. The waffle fries were crunchy and savory. The popcorn chicken had a semi sweet glaze and it was delicious.

The Game Parlour is a charming board games cafe located in the sunset and a perfect place to meet up with friends for a games night! The interior was nice and clean, service was friendly and helpful, and I'd love to come back another time to try more food and drinks. I ordered the matcha and honey latte and it was good, but the rest of the hot drinks sounded good too, so I'd try something else next time. I love that this game cafe offers a good place to hang out into the evening and there's a large selection of board games to choose from as well as fast wifi. I'll be back soon!

First time and will need to come back again with my crew Good coffee and should've got some ice cream dessert too Went old style with Connect 4 then played anything cute or mysterious I had fun and it seems like everyone else was having a blast Street parking only and need to pay Big spacious and very well lit environment Very well designed, that One Piece art looks amazing Restroom was surprisingly clean when it was a full house, that's bonus points

I'm not a board gamer (I don't want to learn rules in my free time) so I may never come here for the actual games but I will willingly come back just for the food. You can order to eat without having to play games, which is a boon for my celiac friend. They offer a variety of sweet and savory gluten free waffles made with rice flour, giving the waffles that classic chewy mochi texture. But unlike other mochi waffles I've had that can be "too much" sometimes, these are on the thinner side which balances perfectly. While they lack the crispy edges of a traditional gluten waffle, they make up for it in their sweet but not too sweet chewy texture. My friend and I split the chicken waffle and the pastrami waffle. I'd recommend getting the sweet soy glaze on the chicken. We got the gochujang glaze on some popcorn chicken and found it to be very one note and slightly overpowering in its flavor. The chicken was so moist and flavorful! The pastrami was good but a little heavy handed with the thousand island dressing. I'll have to come back to try their sweet waffles and drinks sometime! Logistics: - indoor and outdoor seating - limited street parking nearby - everything is gluten free except for any dish containing OREOs

The gaming space just after opening on a Monday morning.

My wife and I love this place. The all-gluten-free kitchen is a plus, but the food is great even for those who do not avoid gluten. Waffles and fried chicken are my favorites and the hot beverages are top-notch. It is a very welcoming space to play Boardgames and meet other folks with similar interests. The games vary from some simple kid-friendly games to some relatively complicated ones like Terraforming Mars. Check it out!

This was such a great experience! I was spending a day with my sister who has celiac and this was the perfect place for the both of us-- board games for my interests, tasty gf waffles for her! I got the Chicken Coup combo (for $3 you can get a drink and waffles fries). It was good! I could have done with some more sauce, it was a bit dry. Waffle fries were good with the furikake seasoning on them, plus they are completely gluten free because the fryer doesn't have gluten cross contamination! Of course, my favorite thing was the board games themselves. We played San Francisco themed board game and Cascadia. I really enjoyed them both, the former was a little more complex but was worth it for the fun theming! I'm definitely planning on coming back another time to play more games and eat more good food!

Visited Game Parlour on a Sunday around 3pm! There is indoor and outdoor seating, and we were able to walk in and get a table inside as a party of 2 without much wait. It's $7 a person, which feels reasonable considering unlimited playtime and the wide variety of games. From social deduction to cooperative to single player, there is a game for everyone here. There is also a mini cafe inside the store that serves food and drinks! You can order at the counter or you can scan the QR code on the table to place an order which I thought was pretty neat. We got a hot chocolate and it was decent! Nice presentation and taste wise, it was light and sweet. For the price though, it was a bit small. After two hours, one of the employees politely asked if we'd consider moving outside to free up space inside. Our brains were fried from the strategy games anyways so we decided to head out at that point. Overall Game Parlour is a fun, casual hangout spot - would recommend!

Root, Munchkin, BYO Mochi Waffle

Very cute place to hangout with friends and play some fun games! We each paid a $7 gaming fee which was an ok price based on all the variety of games they have. We ordered some food for the table as well: Root (waffle cut fries with furikake seasoning) - 4/5. Basic fries, but could use more seasoning. Build your own mochi waffle (original base with strawberries and nutella) - 3/5. Friend who ordered this wasn't a big fan, and said there was an unexpected coconut flavor. Munchkin (fried mochiko chicken bites, regular sauce) - 5/5. Friend who ordered this LOVED it and said it had really good flavor. I didn't try it but it smelled amazing. We had fun playing Wavelength and Exploding Kittens for a couple hours, and would come again!

There's plenty of tables and games here. It's only $7 a person and you can stay until closing. I like how many games they have and the different varieties. It can get kinda loud here so be prepared to talk a little louder than normal. There's also plenty of parking in the area. You can also order food and drinks here including alcohol.

Had a fun time playing games and enjoying snacks with friends visiting from NYC! I'd walked past here a couple times before but never stopped in. As the name suggests, it's definitely a go-to spot for groups rather than individuals. I thought the snacks were just okay. The emphasis is on the establishment of a third space for gathering, and it's executed well if you're into games.

Everything was awesome from our Affogato's to the people working there. Everyone was so friendly, and the location was clean with a variety of options for games going from throwbacks from our childhood to anything in between, and awesome things for purchase as well. would definitely return.

What the Fish

Why the picture the advertise the fish looks way bigger. These look like the TJ'a fish nuggets. $15 what a waster of money. Pictures compared to the actual food the service you are nothing to what u expect.

The cutest board game parlour! Def recommended this spot to various friends when they're looking for a place for fun wholesome activities outside of bars. This is also a good place for a date! There is a plethora of board games to choose from and yummy food to go along with the games :) The waffles were really good along with the drinks. There's also savory dishes with a Japanese inspired touch. This spot is very clean and staff were very nice and helpful in choosing games! Will def continuing being a regular here!

My husband and I are huge Pokemon fans and we love to open and collect cards. But with the surging popularity of this hobby, many stores such as Target, GameStop, and other collectible places sometimes increase their prices, so it's not worth it to buy them overpriced. Gamescape keeps their prices as MSRP and their staff is very friendly. They keep it simple and easy with their Pokemon trading card items behind the counter and if they have more, they'll tell you and if they're not, they're out. None of that "hiding items from customers" nonsense that you see from other stores because they want to keep it for themselves, and etc. I also appreciate them accepting our donations of Pokemon items and accessories such as playmats, dice, binders, etc. After opening Pokemon cards, my husband and I do not need 10+ playmats, bunch of dice, and countless binders. With all of these in "never used" conditions, we would rather donate them to kids who would appreciate them more and have fun with them. I definitely do not want to sell those to kids or others as well, since they are free items with the Pokemon cards. Gamescape accepted our donations and was very appreciative. Thank you Gamescape for being one of the few places who sells their Pokemon items at MSRP and allowing us to enjoy this hobby without burning our $$$ too much lol

Visiting San Francisco for the first time in 19 years, I made it a mission to find a game store…read more The closest one was about a mile away, so I walked from The Clancy in SoMa with one goal: buy the new 2024 D&D Monster Manual. That's my rule: if I step into a game or comic shop, I have to buy something. It's a hard habit to break at this point. From the outside, the store looks massive -like it might contain the multiverse. But once inside, the retail selection isn't quite as big as it appeared to be. BUT... it's got great stuff. Solid board game options. Plenty of space for RPGs and card games. It's the kind of store that's clearly built around social gatherings and play. Spacious and not cramped. A rare find in a city setting. There's an upstairs and downstairs, but those seemed more dedicated to table games you can meet up and play rather than shopping, so I didn't explore too much. The staffer working was friendly and helpful. She even checked if they had the new Monster Manual. Unfortunately, they didn't. That was a letdown. I mean, it's been out for months. If a game store doesn't carry the NEW core D&D books, especially right after a new edition drops, it stings a bit. They had plenty of the original 5e, but not the new. Still, I wasn't leaving empty-handed. Picked up a slick set of dice and the softcover Pathfinder 2E Monster Core Pocket Edition. Gotta support the cause. Overall? I'm glad I found the place. It's a real hangout spot. Honestly, throw in some coffee and comfy chairs, and I'd post up there for hours. Coffee and dice----- it just works right? Note: The 5-stars is a soft 5 because it really doesn't deserve a 4. I just wasn't floored and wowed by the place in general. 4.5 would be perfect. But a 5 it is DESPITE they didn't have what I came to get.

They gave me out really weird vibe and uncomfortable atmosphere with staff or whoever is in there…read more I ended up paying for sometime anyway because I didn't want to walk out empty handed, especially with the attitude of whoever work there.
