So as I'm checking out this other guy told me bulk is off limits until it's been price checked, and then told me my total of 58-60 cards was almost 30 bucks. I did the math, he charged me 50 cents per card and just counted the total up, talk about price gauging. Mind you, they had boxes of bulk stacked on top of each other, so who knows what's been checked or not either, watch me get a scolding for trying to master set some things. There's other card shops that actually do free bulk, I'm definitely gonna stick to them. EDIT: So after reading the other reviews left behind, I can definitely say they do lowball for whatever you bring in. I overheard this one couple bring in some cards that sounded rather high in value based on how the responses were for what they would offer and they were gonna give them a low offer, which I think they declined on some of the cards so good for them.

Bad service and poor communication…read more I've been trying to catalogue my MTG collection lately. I drove 40 min to get to this shop because they have a machine that scans your cards. I paid the shop to rent the machine and waited for 2 hours. Then the staff told me "We made a mistake setting this up. We can't give you the scanned info, but leave your cards behind and your email address, and we can send them over. You'll just need to scan this thing we send you." I was uncomfortable leaving my cards behind because they're important to me. But I didn't want to walk away empty-handed. So I decided to trust them and I left my cards behind. I didn't hear anything for 4 days. I had to call them and they said "Oh the employee you were talking to got sick. If you want to pick up your cards you can do that though." I asked "How about scanning my cards?" and they said "We'll message the sick employee and call you back to let you know what he says". I waited 3 more days and they didn't contact me at all. I realized they weren't going to reach out to me to resolve the issue, so I had to drive down to the store to demand my cards back. I don't know who the person running the back of the shop is. Maybe the manager. Maybe the owner. All I knew is that they had context on the whole situation and knew that I had returned to get my cards. They didn't bother to come over to talk to me. They didn't even give me eye contact. They didn't make even a single attempt at improving the situation. Not even an offer for store credit. Not even a sorry. They just shrugged and yelled across the room "machine's broken". Then they went back to puttering around and left another employee to deal with me. This other employee had no context on the situation. All she could do was hand me a cash refund and give me a confused "Sorry...?" I was treated like I was an annoyance. Someone who'd go away eventually if you ignored them. Not a respected customer who just wanted to do business. I'm not mad that the machine was allegedly broken. I'm only slightly mad that the employees aren't trained on how to use the machine. I'm frustrated that I paid for a service and they didn't bother seeing the job through to the end. They didn't communicate when they decided to give up. I trusted them with my personal card collection and they betrayed that trust. I don't even know if I have all my cards back, but I'll never know. Save yourself the stress.

I never went there to play any games but I called them on the phone and I spoke to Ian about…read moreselling my cards. They said they give 50% of what they're worth and then cards that are worth less than a specific amount. They only give you like $.12 or $.15 and I was OK with that, but they didn't say anything about that had to be ultra rare and have a star on the bottom versus having a diamond or a circle, so I wasted my time and my gas and within 30 seconds the guy goes thanks for coming by, but we're not interested. I was very disappointed that I was told one thing and when I got there, it was completely different.

Psycho Turtle Collectibles is such a fun find in Pico Rivera! I took my son in to pick up a few…read morecards, and we ended up discovering so much more. The store has an awesome vibe, with tournaments going on and lots of people laughing, playing, and having a great time. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Draven was amazing! His knowledge of Magic: The Gathering is next level, and he took the time to teach my son the basics without making him feel overwhelmed. As a parent of a total newbie, I really appreciated that. They also have a great selection of cards, Funko Pops, and collectibles at reasonable prices. It's the kind of place where you go in for one thing and leave already planning your next visit!

Brightly lit with 16 gaming stations, livestreamed from stations 1&2. Overhead tv screen streams for players and guests. Commentators have gaming chairs and headsets and are seated behind the owner's work station. (Very cool, Troy - this is a really great space you've created!) Cool collectibles are on sale at their store a few doors down, and here - including backpacks;). I also spied a Monopoly Gamer MarioKart box! Venue is available for reasonable rental rates for parties and tourneys. Just see Troy! A variety of beverages (Keurig for hot and a fridge for cold) are available as well as a ton of sweet and savory snacks (the Grub Chest -freezer- is a frozen tundra though) and there is a convenient microwave. Long blue tables hold everyone's backpacks and water bottles, and it was nice to see people chatting and getting to know each other when not in game. And yes, they have a restroom! I noticed it was more TCG based store nurses a sports store, with my daughter being new and loving Pokémon and One Piece we stayed. The store had some basic cards for sale so my daughter and I went through them to help her build her little collection. Upon getting ready to purchase the store rep MIKE, overheard me tell my daughter it was time to pay so make her selections, Mike told her just takes emails. He told me how they love to donate when they can and that the couple of cards wouldn't hurt anything and it truly made my daughter day. She was so happy and she can't wait to go back and visit. I found some miniature tech decks (build-your-own) that I know my nephews will absolutely love. While some items were a bit pricier, others were very affordable. I was a bit bummed there were no anime items, but that was fine. We still scored on some cool findings. My son also made a new friend instantly and was so engaged that he didn't want to leave the store. We def' will be back.. I found some cool mystery boxes I would like to purchase.
