So today I stumbled a Ross this amazing atmosphere and group of people at JUNKYARD CARDS in long beach. My daughter and I were just looking for penny sleeves and potentially some baseball cards. I noticed it was more TCG based store nurses a sports store, with my daughter being new and loving Pokémon and One Piece we stayed. The store had some basic cards for sale so my daughter and I went through them to help her build her little collection. Upon getting ready to purchase the store rep MIKE, overheard me tell my daughter it was time to pay so make her selections, Mike told her just takes emails. He told me how they love to donate when they can and that the couple of cards wouldn't hurt anything and it truly made my daughter day. She was so happy and she can't wait to go back and visit. The crazy thing though, they still kept the highest level of service with a full house for a card tournament they were hosting, which looked pretty cool ......lol Thank you Mike!!! read more

This is now my 2nd or 3rd time back! They have a new store in the same plaza. Parking lot can be tricky but plenty of parking spaces and on the street as well. I love how the guys welcome you in and are friendly. We drive 30 mins away because not only are they nice, they have a wide selections of everything from pokemon, magic, one piece, rift bound, slabs etbs, bulk etc. The value is spot on and they are willing to make a deal so bring cash too as a tip. You can tell they have built a really sweet local community everyone who comes in and out have been regulars. It's clean and smells good in here. They had a really good selection of cards for me to pick from and was able to get some cards that I was looking for my collection. I came here recently and we had a great experience! I brought my 2 kids who are a bit on the younger side (4 and 6). They are relatively new to the Pokemon card game and were a bit intimidated stepping into the shop. The staff was so friendly and encouraging to them they absolutely loved their experience and frequently ask to come back. Super thankful for how kind they were to my kids. I dont know too much about this world but from what i can tell they had a lot more variety and a higher quality of selection than other shops we've visited in the area. The couches and gaming tables with the mags kinda reminded me of a skateshop which is where i spent most of my time as a kid. Overcharged me by $30, where everywhere else sells it for $150. Completely feel ripped off and scammed. The Place is really messy and unorganized behind the counter and along the sides. There's no pricing on anything either, which make me think it's "whatever the shop feels like pricing them at the time of purchase." The overall atmosphere feels lazy. It doesn't take long to organize such a small place and make it feel a little more inviting, but, eh...why bother, I won't be going back. read more

I live in the Central Valley but was in LA for a weeding my wife was in. I had time while she was doing her bridesmaid thing so I went looking for card shops. I went in looking for the newest one piece set and had some One Piece cards from an older set to trade. They gave me 70% card values which is pretty much industry standard and even had some of the newest Pokemon set in store and I was able to get some. In my area it's sold out or double the price. It was an enjoyable experience and I had fun talking to them. I will try to get back there next time I'm in the area. read more
