Psycho Turtle Collectibles is such a fun find in Pico Rivera! I took my son in to pick up a few cards, and we ended up discovering so much more. The store has an awesome vibe, with tournaments going on and lots of people laughing, playing, and having a great time. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Draven was amazing! His knowledge of Magic: The Gathering is next level, and he took the time to teach my son the basics without making him feel overwhelmed. As a parent of a total newbie, I really appreciated that. 0 stars if I could but man very disappointed in this store, first of all I drove over an hour to get here to get the cards then when we got here the guy tried to rush us out of the store and asked if there was anything else he could help us with I start to ask for the other cards I wanted to buy and he said " hold on I'm helping someone else" like wait didn't you just asked if we needed something else sand he was very rude and acted like we where an inconvenience, I also asked about the new illustration box for Op and he said I'm only selling them to players here, like man not me trying to spend money at your store I drove over an hour to get to, definitely not friendly or worth stopping by unless you know someone that works there. Enjoyed meeting this community of smash players in this tourney, held at Psycho Turtle PLAY (Collectible's game room, several doors down from the retail store). Brightly lit with 16 gaming stations, livestreamed from stations 1&2. Overhead tv screen streams for players and guests. Commentators have gaming chairs and headsets and are seated behind the owner's work station. (Very cool, Troy - this is a really great space you've created!) Cool collectibles are on sale at their store a few doors down, and here - including backpacks;). I also spied a Monopoly Gamer MarioKart box! Venue is available for reasonable rental rates for parties and tourneys. Just see Troy! A variety of beverages (Keurig for hot and a fridge for cold) are available as well as a ton of sweet and savory snacks (the Grub Chest -freezer- is a frozen tundra though) and there is a convenient microwave. Long blue tables hold everyone's backpacks and water bottles, and it was nice to see people chatting and getting to know each other when not in game. And yes, they have a restroom! We came here around 1:20pm on Saturday, and I can't tell you enough how cool of a store this is , cleanliness, friendly staff, amazing selection and for me the biggest thing was how they treated my kids. Usually I'm stressed out because my boys are 2-3 years old and they love to grab everything , but the staff saw them and went above and beyond and even gave them a sticker sheet ! Although I don't get over there nearly as much as I would like, I firmly believe that this is one of the best card shops around. Been going there since they had their first store about two miles down the road years back and just starting up with the youtube channel. They offer a wide array of cards and have always been fair about the pricing. This along with some amazing Black Friday deals and players that are not super "sweaty" this is a go to destination for all your card needs. Waited over 4 hours for the OP-16 release after calling the day before and being told boxes would be $130 before tax. Price was also confirmed by the worker passing out tickets. Then, 30 mins before opening, another worker came out and announced the price will be $165 with no explanation or apology. I'd understand such a price if they were going to keep the factory seals. But increasing the price by $35 right before opening while still removing the seals is a scummy business practice. Very disappointing experience and I won't be returning. read more

My kiddo is into Pokemon so we decided to stop by Psycho Turtle. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Kiddo got some pokemon cards and dad got help from the staff since we're a little out of the game it's been a while. Even mom got a treat they have merch from Tokyo Disney resort. Yay for this local gem!!! I am by no means a comic, marvel, etc person but my kiddos and hubby are! It can be really hard to find stores that sell lots of the items they have here. Aside from Pokémon (individual cards and packs), we've also bought Warhammer stuff, card binders, and unique Pokémon and Kirby plushies. My daughter also got some really cute Butterfree earrings. So there are lots of unique finds here and it's a place kids will LoVe and want to buy everything from! Another plus is that it is very well-staffed! Great place to go to for your tcg needs, as well as a great place to go to play events whether you prefer casual play or competetive play. I've done 2 pre-releases at this store for mtg and how they do it is pretty cool. During the prerelease event for Lorwyn eclipsed that I played at they even fed us pizza! The staff and owners care alot about their customers/players experiences and do whatever they can to make sure everyone has a good time and keeps coming back. They have selection of various singles and sealed product at competitive prices. They have various snack and drinks you can buy, i even saw some ghost peoper and habanero popcorn?? Turned up to a Pokemon event, only to be turned away at the door because it was a capped event. This would have been fine if they had posted that it was a ticketed event with a cap on the Pokemon event locator, but there was no information. Wasted a lot of my time driving to the store and back for no reason. Honestly probably one of the only TCG/game shop I will go to. This shop has reasonable and fair pricing unlike other TCG shops while like to scalp the living oblivion out of everything! The workers every time I have gone have been welcoming, have great customer service and will actually talk to you and find what you're interested and looking for! You can tell they are here for the craft unlike many shops that are out there to make a buck. The merch besides TCG is top notch and I always end up leaving with something I didn't go for lol. This place has its good and bad days. It's very popular. Kids like it here a lot of grown men that haven't really grown up yet enjoy coming here and it's fine. They got the money they could do whatever they want. Leave this trend for the children. I like 99% of the staff except for that one guy that charge me taxes when I paid cash for one card. I've come here to buy cards several times and even during events/tournaments they've had and today now they said we can't buy cards unless we are in the tournament. Doesn't make sense because they have plenty of cards, and I wasn't trying to buy them out. Literally just wanted a few packs and I would have been happy. I've only come here as a Digimon TCG Player. Mostly to come to the tournaments they have 3 times a week (Tuesday Thursday and Saturday around 6:30-7PM). Out of all the places I've tried in both Orange and LA County this is easily my favorite spot to play in Digimon TCG tournaments. For the record I came at a time when BT11 was a month away so apparently there only about 13-15 people at a time coming in to play. People were saying that was a "slow" week but compared to other places I been to that were lucky to get 4-5 at most on a good day was great to me. The way the staff runs the tournaments are great to me. They use the Bandai TCG app so tournaments are run Swiss style and you can see results immediately once rounds are over. I like how this store generally follows these rules fairly and dont stop using timers to time matches when there's not enough people. Gotta keep moving things forward. The Digimon TCG community there is pretty nice too. Even on an "off-season" there's still a variety of decks and everyone I played Was very nice. It wasn't just all Top decks played by top players there is as decent variety of more casual decks and tournament ready competitive decks. The staff was even nice and communicative. Psycho turtle actually has their own discord that I frequent and it's also my current favorite online Digimon TCG community. When I was running late for a tournament I was able to let the staff know through that discord that I would be 20 minutes late even though I checked in on the Bandai app. They said they were cool keeping me in as long as they gave me a round one loss. I told him this was fine since all I wanted to do was play more. Not only did they keep me in but they were nice enough to basically give me a bye cuz I assume was because there was an odd number of players. While I have not bought any singles or sold any singles here yet, this seems to be the highest amount (NOT prices) of Digimon TCG singles I've seen that is close enough to me. So far I've been very pleased with my experience at this shop. Even though it's a 30 to 60 minute drive depending on traffic I am willing to make the drive just because of the high amount of players and how well the tournaments are run and the variety of decks played. I look forward to when there's actually an "on-season" for the Digimon TCG. read more

I was very disappointed to hear that Andrew and his family are no longer part of Psycho Turtle. Kinda makes sense because the treatment we had today would have never occurred if he was. My wife accidentally signed up for the wrong tournament online and when we arrived no spots were left. One of the players that was sitting next to my son overheard my wife trying to explain to him that he did not have a spot in the tournament. He graciously offered his spot to my son. What a stand up guy! Problem solved you would think, so we thought. The gentleman and my wife went up to the front counter to have the switch noted. This is when we encountered our problem. His name is Robert! I guess he was in charge of the tournament. You would think that changing one name Would not be an issue, but to this Robert guy it was the end of the world. He badgered my wife and the gentleman that offered his space to my son. He had no issue delaying the tournament for a person that was late, but changing a name on a list was more than he could handle. I can't believe the treatment and scolding he was dishing out. Very poor guest relations and social skills. Me and my family have been strong supporters of Psycho Turtle since they were selling at swapmeets. I will have to really think hard if I choose to spend my hard earned dollars here again. Sad! Robert's attitude was not called for or necessary! read more

I cannot recommend Psycho Turtle's enough. I recently started playing Lorcana, which has been my first TCG. I've looked around and played at a few stores to see what I liked best, and this shop fits everything I want and more. The store itself is clean, open, and inviting. The temp in the store is always perfect. I adore the murals of their mascots, and of course the bathroom is phenomenal. The store is also very well organized and it's easy to find what you're looking for. I also love the little cafe section in the back. The employees are fantastic. They are very knowledgeable and helpful. They and the community at this store make you feel extremely welcome and the overall vibe of the store is very inviting. All the employees are great but special shoutout to Regina for helping me feel welcome my first time around. The owner Josh is honestly one of the nicest guys around. He truly cares about the players in his shop and isn't in this to make a quick buck or something. Trade ins are completely fair and offer both credit and cash. He's not selling things like Lorcana at double the MSRP like other stores do. He really takes the time to get to know regulars and make the store and extremely fun and welcome place. read more
