We're so beyond disappointed on their Easter Sunday Brunch. For $70 a person their was a line for the buffet and almost everything was empty. The salad bar lettuce was withered and brown so I passed on a salad. The eggs Benedict were soggy and nasty with a dollop at best of hollandaise sauce. The breaded shrimp was soggy and nasty from the steam in the banquet. The crab and salmon were empty for all you can eat. After 20 min went back to stand in line for crab and salmon, The salmon was raw and cold. ( barely seared on each side and thrown out) so pretty much the only thing edible was the crab for me and my husband. and it wasn't king crab or anything special, just the scrawny stuff you have to work for to get out. for $70? it was a horrible sh*t show and everyone else thought the same thing. For $190 for 2 people with tip, and yes we tipper are waitress well, it wasn't her fault. we left hungry and looking for somewhere else to eat. we will not be back and shame on them! Sad. read more

As this being my first time coming here, the outside was a great sight. Looked very peaceful. Once going in our party of two had to wait 7min ish for someone to even greet us and seat us. Once sat we looked over the menu and decided on our order. I will say I was taken aback by how we had to ask for the drink menu because it wasn't given to us when we were sat. Regarding our food it was pretty decent which it always fine with me when showing up to new locations. Our server was a delight great woman to be served by. She was on top of her job. We also got the wrong tab when paying which wasn't an issue just a miss sight. With all our issues it was still a pleasant experience. We used to live in Modesto and got tri tip, ribs and chicken at the market twice a month and had breakfast at the restaurant every Sunday. It was always amazing. Stopped by last week when I was in Modesto for a meeting to get 2 tri tips not the family dasher pack. 85.00 for 2 tri tips, I figured it was expensive but worth it. How wrong I was. I had them cut it a little thicker than for sandwiches but not as thick as dinner slice. Huge mistake. They cut it with the grain so I had 4.5 lbs of chewy jerky not fit for a meal or sandwich. Now I live 2 hours away. Called to complain and was told "if you don't like lt bring it back" but no refunds. What a jackass on the phone. I would stop and get the tri tip nearly every time I am in town but with crap like that jerky and the jerk over the phone guess this place is now off my list. Very sad!!!! read more

Located on the border of Modesto and Waterford California it's island diner/ restaurant in the middle of farm country. There are not a lot of choices in the area besides a fast food burger joint and a Taco Bell. They also have banquet facilities for weddings. As we were getting seated we walked by an extensive salad bar. In hind sight I should have just had the salad from bar. Since there was a prime rib mushroom French dip sandwich special, I ordered it. The sandwich itself had sliced prime rib beef on a French bread roll. The sandwich along with the Au Ju was bland. I had to douse both with salt. I should have asked for some steak sauce. Oooops!!! We 'accidentally' have driven by this place several times without stopping in for food. We missed out! We noticed the good vibe as soon as we stepped out of our car - the aroma of smoked meat! The store is full of fresh produce and dried fruit, honey, preserves, and nuts from around the area. In addition, they're stocked with a variety of drinks and snacks. However, the deli counter is where the magic happens. We could tell that the portions were generous while we waited to order by looking at the items other people were picking up. We chatted with the waiting customers who explained that they regularly come here and what they like to order. Usually, we would order one sandwich to share because they're pretty generously sized. This review is for the tri-tip and beef ribs. We had both in the fruit yard shop, not the restaurant. In our opinion it was such good beef, we will return here from Sacramento just for those items. This is one of the Very Best Restaurants one could dine at in this area!! The food is wonderful in taste and they don't skimp with the serving. Price is set fair! Hours of operation are great as well! However in my opinion if a restaurant lacks in customer service the rest won't matter! From the moment you come through the door, they greet you with a smile, and the entire time your there you feel welcomed! This morning my man and I were blessed to have Shelly as our server... she was amazing, attentive and all around delightful. She had this special gift about her that gave you a feeling like you have know her for years. She was just really cool. On our way back from out of town. We decided to stop just to use the facilities. It's a nice place with clean bathrooms. They have a restaurant, convenience store, and gas station attached to a decent piece of land out back where the apparently do live concerts. It has a very country feel. I like that. There are even chickens running around in the parking lot. That's pretty neat. Just watch out for those roosters. They run up to you pretty fast with pretty good sized Spurs. I steered clear as I wasn't sure if they were looking for food or just being the standard grumpy aggressive rooster. I would rather not find out the hard way. Lots of parking here. A great selection of road snacks too. Plus a restaurant next door if you would prefer something more. read more

First, you order from the menu or you could call for pick up, after you order they give you a receipt and pay in the center of the store, you could also grab some snacks, drinks, and other necessities like fruit and nuts from the Fruit Yard! My first time there I ordered the trip tip sandwich...which tasted so good! The second time I ordered the 1lb whole tri-tip which was $16...honestly it was such a great deal especially for the amount and the quality of the meat! My bf and I love how tender it is, plus the BBQ sauce is tasty and you could get it on the side! The customer service is on point too, the wait is never long and the service is quite fast!
