HORRIBLE SERVICE! This man overcharges and is dishonest!!! He fixed my glasses before and said if anything ever happened to just bring in the receipt and he would fix it free of charge. I came in here less than a year later and he refused to honor his word!! This is by far the BEST eyeglass repair in Phoenix! I have been here several times, expert repair WHILE YOU WAIT ( in most cases). Reasonable prices, and open 9:30 to 6:30 Monday thru Friday and 9:30 to Noon on Saturday. There is a sign saying cash only, but the gentleman has always taken my debit card...he uses an App on his phone, which took him a minute, and you get an instant text receipt. I went twice in the past ten years and was always happy. Charged me approx $15-20 for repairs. Vert happy. Today I went to get a frame fix and an arm fell off. $40, with discount, and had to prepay. An hour later I pick them up and a lense is scratched! I am meticulous about how I put them down. He says he doesn't touch the lenses. He is a liar. They were filthy. At $40 you would think that he would extend you the courtesy of cleaning your lenses. He doesn't care. Glad I went all Jersey on him and told him what I thought of him. The Frame Doctor is awesome! Great prices and quick service. I've had several repairs done here and haven't had any issues. I don't live in Phoenix but everytime I roll through I try to make it a point to bring all my frames that need some TLC. I've had broken nose pieces fixed, frames that were bent put back to normal and I had some frames that had significant corrosion damage. Calvin Klein frames are garbage as the use really cheap metal that corrodes as soon as it comes into contact with sweat. Frame Doctor saved them but there is no way to prevent them from corrosion so I will just keep bringing them back I suppose. Found this place online, and walked in today(Sat.) about 1/2 hour before they close @5pm. Metal temple piece on my eyeglasses had snapped off on one side; I asked if it was repairable. The owner said he'd replace both sides for a cost of only $20. Assumed I would leave them there, but he said it would only take 10 minutes! But it is 'Cash only.' I made a quick run to my bank ATM, and they were already repaired when I returned! A big shoutout to the owner, Ray. A local small business that I will both support and highly recommend. THIS DOCTOR IS GUILTY OF MALPRACTICE! I wished I would have checked first, but he has a well-deserved C+ rating and no accreditation from the Better Business Bureau ( I am going to complain, so it will likely go to D). Please look at his other one star reviews, and not just the average. He mangled my glasses and then defended his shoddy work by saying, "I don't make it good, I make it work." He actually said it twice. If "I don't make it good, I make it work." is what you want, pay him and he will make it NOT good. CASH ONLY! Forget complaining to your credit card company about his ripoff service. He then held my glasses hostage for cash payment, only offering to re-break them if I was unhappy with his work. He claimed not to have the heater necessary to adjust the acetate temples, only the ability to replace them. Mine are custom engraved, so I wanted to keep them as they were not broken but just needed adjustment after his hinge replacement caused them to go cockeyed. Every eyeglass store has the inexpensive tool to adjust frames, but not him. You can do it with a hair dryer. I showed him this, and all he did was show me that when placed upside down on the table, both temples touched the table. WHO CARES! This has nothing to do with the glasses shifting side to side and not being wearable. He could have redone the hinge with a proper size, but the only offer he made was to re-break them, he had plenty of time. He was sitting in a chair with no work to do when I picked them up. I could have done a better job myself with a Dremel, some epoxy and a part borrowed from an old pair of glasses. I would have used a caliper to measure the correct size. He just wings it. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! Go someplace else or do it yourself. Your own repair would likely look the same. read more

Broke a pair of perscription sunglasses at the hinge. Costco referred me to this place. They did the repair by afixing new temples. When I got them out into the sun, they didn't match the frames...the frames were black so it wasn't like it was some freaky color or pattern to match...just black. When I took them back in to remedy the situation I was informed it was the best that they could do. A few weeks later the screw came out of the hinge, so I took it back. I was informed that the policy of the store was not to do any repairs without charging for it....even resetting a screw, which I supplied. How much could it be to reset a screw you might ask? Would you believe $20.00! I prefer to select who I let screw me, and this dump ain't one of them.... read more

Ray fixed my sunglasses for me! I sat on my favorite pair of designer sunglasses that I've had for 10 years and the frames were bent so they didn't fit on my face anymore. He had to weld on new pieces, which is amazing. I came in after finding him on yelp and as soon as I went in he said he could fix them in 10-15 minutes and seemed really confident on how to fix them. He also said that if he didn't fix them I wouldn't have to pay- winner. I have taken them other places where people have said they could "try" to fix them but didn't seem confident, and also said if they don't fix them I would still have to pay, which isn't cool. The spring on the right arm of my glasses broke when I squished my glass case in my teeny tiny gym bag. I was referred to The Frame Doctor by another eyeglass store. It was a little hard to find and I ended up parking next door and walking over. The arm on my glasses had to be welded to the glasses so there is no longer a spring and the arm always flops down. I don't like that, but was told I had no choice. I waited while my glasses were fixed, reading Yelp reviews on my smart phone. I would have rated five stars had I not been charged $38 for the repair, but at least I can wear my glasses again. read more

He took it upon himself to drill a HOLE into the rim of the frame, which is extremely noticeable. Not to mention the frame is a few months old. I have used this Frame Doctor location a number of times in the past. The owner was friendly, the service was prompt and fairly priced. Found a new owner who was very abrupt and decidedly unfriendly. Since I was pressed for time I had him make the repairs. A BIG MISTAKE. Overcharged for the repairs: $20/pair for nose pads and $10 to adjust the bows. This guy totally bait and switched me. I went in and he told me 50 dollars and I thought that was high so I went and called my insurance to see if it would be cheaper to just get new frames. I went back in and said ok I will do it. Then I pulled out a 10% discount card and then he told me 69 but he will do it for 50. I thought that was pretty unethical.
