The reason I am writing this review is that I just found an old receipt to pickup a pair of eyeglasses from 2018 that needed a weld repair for a friend of mine. Since I was a retired optician, Mr. Kim wrote 'No Charge.' though I insisted that I would pay when they were finished. I didn't hear back in the 10-day period and visited the shop. Mr. Kim couldn't find my friend's eyeglasses anywhere. I couldn't believe it and was very disappointed. I just knew that when he wrote N/C that something like this would happen. I had a pair of prescription sunglasses that the nose piece had broken off of almost a year ago. But they were able to quickly repair it no problem! The service to have the piece soldered back on was $65, which I thought was a fair price - especially since the soldering is undetectable and it only took a few hours to have fixed. My service came with a 30 day warranty, which I imagine comes with other services too. Definitely recommend! read more

Took my glasses in to get repaired the screw that holds the lens in broke. I was told that the broken screw had to be drilled out and re threaded and was quoted 25 dollars to fix it. I agreed. Later on that evening i received a text saying that the broken screw on my glasses had to be drilled out and re threaded and would cost 35 dollars. I replied , you are telling me the same thing but now the price has gone up. i told him i did not have the money right now and i will be in tomorrow to pick them up. It took up 3 tries to pick them up, the hours they say are open are different then hours on door. i finally picked them up and low and behold one of the arms was bent. i highly recommend that nobody goes there. that is my story. read more

Took some sunglasses to replace a lost screw; Owner 'Hung' not present, but his wife (next door business) received eyeglasses, said they'd be ready 'tomorrow.' Went next day, they were closed & Hung didn't answer phone; another customer waiting left, when he saw I telephoned w/no result. Estimate was $3 + $10 for nose pads. When I picked up sun glasses several days later, again from the wife (Hung wasn't at business during the posted business hours), the cost was $33. Don't go there unless you want to waste time and pay about $20 more than estimated--Throw the eyeglasses away or go to Costco! Believe me! Pete. read more

I think that frame fixtures got bought by somebody else. The old guy who used to own it is no longer there. The new place fixed my glasses and I guess did a good job but they did break again. my experience with them in terms of their actual presence at their location during posted open hours was not good. I called and asked what their hours were, and went there during their hours, which are a little strange, and no one was there. There was a note that said to try next-door at fingernail polish supply store. This led me to another sign that said to call a different number. A woman took my glasses and let me know that they were fixed a day or two later. Once again, I asked them when they would be open and I went there and no one was there. Two other people showed up looking to get their glasses either fixed or picked up. I decided to wait it out at my friends house. Two hours later I got a phone call saying that they had to watch their grandchildren and that they were there now. I picked up my glasses and they seem to be fine but I haven't actually worn them because I need to get them adjusted. read more

I went to this establishment many months ago because I needed to make my eyeglasses feel lighter on my nose. This polite and kindly Asian man knew just what to do, fixed them on the spot and he was reasonably priced. Today, I needed them made a little more comfortable around my ears, and needed them removed. He didn't just remove them, he put some comfortable silicone in place around the nose areas and adjusted them around my ears, so now they are even more comfortable. If you sit on your glasses or otherwise bust up the frame - go to this guy. the Frame fixer is the name of the business and that is not where the straightforwardness ends. He takes a look and if he can do it he will tell you and he will tell you what he has to do and how much it is. Sometimes right on the spot (as in my case today) but at most it takes a day depending on the job. And it is affordable ( I am hesistant to say cheap because the repairs and the service are not but his prices are). I have been here about 4 times - Everytime excellent!!! It is cash only but that translates to better prices for you and I am personally a fan of that because it is sticking it to the credit card companies, banks, and merchant processors who take advantage of us and take our money. I am so thankful his business is on yelp because I wanted to write a review after seeing him again today. Speaking of thankful he is always thankful for your business and always says thank you. I needed to have my earpiece reattached to my glasses. It took over a week and the glasses are repaired. However, there is no sign, nor did the man tell me that it is cash only. I had to use an ATM at a Speedway Store to get them back, so it cost me $3 more for the stupid ATM fee. Post a sign, or set up Venmo, Zelle, Google pay, Squared up, whatever. read more

His service was very terrible. I was upset, and my husband who went there with me was also upset. Not just upset, you know what I mean? I came to this place because my frame-less eyeglasses' lenses became wobbly, and one side of the frame (hinge area) was bent wrongly. I left my eyeglasses for fixing and picked them up about one week later. Hinges of the frame was tightened, but he did not fix the frame (wrong bending angles of the hinge area). Lenses were not wobbly anymore, but after I left his shop, I found out lenses were set crooked. It must have happened when he tighten the screws of the bridge. My lenses were for stigmatism, and it did not work when lenses were crooked. It was not big deal for me because it seemed easy fixing. (Actually they were fixed within one minute at Optical Image at Park Mall where we stopped by, after we left "Frame Fixer." Thanks, Optical Image!) HOWEVER, he refused to fix. He said "I cannot touch lenses. You! Go to the eyeglass-shop to fix it." (How could he tighten screws of the bridge if he could not touch lenses? My eyeglasses are frame-less!) MOREOVER, he said to me that it must have happened after I left his shop. He refused to admit that he fixed/set lenses wrongly. He blamed me, instead. My husband also tried to explain the problem to him logically, but it seemed to me that he did not understand common American English much. If problems of your eyeglasses are simple and easy-fixing, go and have them fixed at this shop. But, once something happens, you will find out how difficult to make him re-fix. "30 day-warranty" can be applied ONLY IF you can convince him. read more

Worst place ever. Such a ripoff. The guy was so rude when I walked in. Doesn't make me comfortable at all to do business. I asked him how much it would be to put back on my temple back on ( thing that goes over the ear) and he said $90!!!!! I asked how much the screws where to fix it and he said they didn't cost anything. I said then why so much? He said for his time... I said how much time does it take to fix it. He said about 20 mins. My two year old broke his older sister's glasses recently, and I wasn't too excited about buying her a new pair (we'd shelled out some serious mulah for her designer frames). The eyeglass store where we'd purchased them said that they were irreparable, and that we'd need to get new frames. My dad, who has been a serious recycler (is "recycler" a word?) long before recycling was cool, recommended trying Frame Fixer. Frame Fixer is an modest, inconspicuous shop located in a little strip mall next to a nail place - unless you knew it was there, you'd probably never see it. The owner was very kindly - he asked how I had heard of him, and when I told him my dad had recommended him, he said "please tell your father hello and thank you from me." Nice. He inspected the frames, explained that he could replace the hinge with a non-spring hinge, but otherwise they would look and operate the same. He quoted me a price, wrote up a ticket, and said he could have the repair completed in a couple of days. I thanked him, and as I was leaving, he folded his hands in front of him, bowed his head, and said "many blessings to you, and may you and our family stay safe." It startled me at first - I'm not accustomed to receiving blessings from repairmen, or any other business owner for that matter... but his face and his smile communicated his authenticity and sincere gratitude. How's that for service with a smile? :) I returned a couple of days later, and the repair had been made as promised. My daughter's glasses looked and functioned as if they'd never been broken. His prices were reasonable, and a bargain considering what it would have cost me to replace my daughter's glasses. I do love me a good bargain! This guy was so polite and sweet. He fixed a pair of glasses that my toddler broke and saved us from having to buy a new pair out of pocket since our insurance won't cover new frames until next year. To those who say this man is rude - are you kidding me? He is Japanese and he doesn't speak English very well. He bowed to me once the work was completed. He is not overcharging for anything. I paid $42 for my repair, which I consider to be an excellent price compared to purchasing new frames. If we are ever so unfortunate to have glasses break again (probably pretty likely with two kids under the age of 4 in the house), I will definitely give this place my business again. read more

Today I took my main prescription glasses to get a broken screw extracted and a replacement one used to re-attach my left earpiece to the frame. To replace my titanium frame would have cost me well over 100 dollars IMO. The kind and friendly elderly gentleman at the shop only charged me 28 dollars including his time to fix my glasses(around 15 minutes of waiting time). Excellent service, reasonable prices, and excellent customer service make it easy to recommend this business to anyone needing eyeglass frame repairs. I appreciated that he warned me that the hinge might break (they are old frames), but fortunately his expertise kept the hinge intact and secured. In addition, he ensured that the frame was straight and the fit level. The owner also made it clear in advance that payment was in cash. Took my glasses here because I was referred by an optical shop in the area. My glasses were broken on the side piece, in the hinge. This guy was rude as hell. He only accepts cash, and it took 2 days to get my glasses back. When I got my frames back the side piece closes but it doesn't spring, which makes my frames sit crooked on my face. Charged me 59.00 and my frames don't function properly! I won't be going back! The only reason he gets one star is because it won't allow me to leave zero stars! This place is a joke!! read more
