Tucson Optometry has been a great experience for me. I went in when I decided to get contacts and also had my eyes checked for glasses. I ended up skipping the glasses for now and just getting the contacts, but the whole process was really easy. I had previously gone to another office where the optometrist just wasn't my vibe, so I kept looking and found Tucson Optometry. I'm glad I did. On my first visit I met with Dr. Jamie Hiscox and immediately felt at ease. She is so personable. I've now seen both optometrists there and really like them both. They're knowledgeable, patient, and have a calm, straightforward approach that makes the appointment feel comfortable. The pricing is affordable, the service feels honest, and the whole office has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. I would highly recommend going here if you need an eye exam, contacts, or glasses. My family has been getting eye care at this clinic for over 10 years and the staff has become so rude and incompetent that we are leaving that clinic and never going back. I was yelled at in front of a full house of customers because they THOUGHT I wanted free contacts which I did not because I just spent $200 ordering them. The office manager was extremely rude, interrupting me and told me I didn't need to come there and refunded my entire order for contacts and my exam. Doctor Jake was rude as well. I don't know what happened to these people but we will never be going back. I do not recommend them in any way. They literally treat people like cattle! read more

I've gone here for my eye exams since 2021. This year I attempted to change an appointment. Called twice left two messages. Never received a call back. Sent a text to cancel the appointment and they did respond via text. Decided not to go back and seeing another eye doctor to whom I can actually speak with on the phone. read more

Took my 15 year old to get her eyes examined here. They were quick and efficient. They have a newer electronic machine that is not like the conventional "better here or here" "one or two " approach. The machine also provides distancing because it is controlled by computer not the doctor moving different lenses around. It seems he was still learning it a bit but the results were interesting . Prescription was a bit different than previous exams. She got her glasses made elsewhere their timing was 4 weeks for glasses. She's had her glasses for almost a month now and likes the prescription. read more

This optometry clinic has been one of the best I have ever seen. The front desk staff is super friendly and helpful. (Magaly, Adriana, and Kristen). Dr. Jacob Hiscox did an excellent job during my new routine eye exam. If you can... ask for Ms. Magaly Loera at the front desk. She had been such a wonderful help in explaining to me the breakdown of the options and costs for my prescription. "Dr. Jake" was awkward in greeting me for the first time and wouldn't even refer to me by name during the whole appointment. He was constantly pulled away to another patient during my eye exam and seemed overbooked that afternoon. The phoropter (the thing with the lenses) seemed like it was from the 80's and the exam room wasn't even properly darkened. He had no interest in checking the health of my eyes and doing standard procedures which is necessary for my advanced astigmatism. My eye exam was a total mess that he couldn't even finish because my eyes were "too dry" to get a proper reading. I left feeling disappointed, frustrated, and minimized so I disregarded their request for me to come back in two weeks and saw another eye doctor that same week and was totally fine. Save your time and see someone else who at the very least has updated equipment and a better bedside manner! read more

I've been wearing glasses since I was thirteen years old. Between that, and an old eye injury, I've been through a lot of optometrists and prescriptions; especially the last few years as I've gotten older as I've started to wear readers with my contacts. I went to the Tucson Optometry Clinic last week, for the first time, and walked away feeling very confident in the new plan. I have a new prescription, and am down to wearing only one contact, which works SO MUCH BETTER than any prescription contact lens has done for me for five years. I can again watch television and read my cell phone both at the same time, without having to use readers. What a great idea. I really appreciate the new approach....not to mention it's cheaper for me. I was so happy, my husband went there the following week and they were able to update his prescription as well. I just wish they had a more varied selection of frames. But, with the new contacts, I don't need any new frames. Two thumbs up! read more

My entire experience from the moment I walked into my first appointment, to picking up my glasses, was wonderful. The staff and doctors are very patient and knowledgeable, and explained everything to me in a way that was easy to understand. My first pair of lenses were still a little fuzzy when I picked them up, so I called back after about a week to see if they could do a re check. Without any hesitation, they invited me to come back in the same day I called to re check my eyes and adjust my prescription accordingly. Dr. Hiscox and the rest of the staff were courteous, friendly, and genuinely cared. They made sure that I had the best experience and outcome possible. Thank you for everything! read more

I've been seeing Dr. Jamie Hiscox for a number of years now. She is friendly, professional, competent, and very thorough. She's takes the time to listen carefully and answers the multitude of questions I usually have about my overall eye health and treatment/glasses options. I have been a patient of Dr. Jamie Hiscox, for over 5 years I first saw her when she was located on Tanque Verde RD. As a MD she is great, no complaints. Informing me she is not practicing for next 2 years, when I am calling you to schedule an appt is terrible, and unprofessional. The receptionist stated information and disconnected. Most practices send a post card or call, not this one. I will take my business elsewhere. read more
