Please do not give this woman your business!!! My husband is new to contacts, had them for one yr. He recently went in to get his eye exam. His prescription changed, she gave him a cheaper contact to try on (which he wanted cheaper) after a whole 3 minutes of trying them, she said "how many months do you want to buy". He immediately found them to be uncomfortable, and also liked his old script better. When he contacted her 3 days later, she told him you are SOL and I told you they would not be as comfortable. GREAT customer service!! I reached out to them to see if there was any option for him. Tom was VERY nice on the phone, but they never got back to us. Called back 2 days later, I have NEVER experienced such a rude attitude, especially from a Dr. When I pointed out that she should have *AT A MINIMUM* as the experienced DOCTOR.... #1 Suggest he try this new script before he purchases 6 months worth. #2 Suggest he try the new style contact before he purchase 6 months worth. #3 Recommend he not open the new box until he is sure. #4 Tell him these are non refundable once you open the box. Here response was... "well he is an adult, he tried them on" (for 3 minutes) "and I said to him, how many months do you want to buy." She said she would reach out to a representative to see how they could help. Instead of being the adult, taking some sort of accountability for her lack of communication with a patient that is new to contacts, she sent a nasty letter, with untrue information on it, making it seem as though he had done something wrong. She can no longer be his eye provider. Dr Finnell - The dates you stated on this letter are absolutely false. You state "You wore the trials for 2 weeks before opening the boxes of lenses received" Did he? How would he know to do that?? The dates don't add up sweetheart. I picked up the contacts for him April 10th. He opened the box Friday April 11th. He called you the following Tuesday April 15th complaining. I called you April 18th. That day you knew he had opened the new box, after using the trials for 5 days, and they were still uncomfortable, he didn't like the new script. Where are the 2 weeks he took to wear the trials before he opened the box? You have the absolute worst attitude and customer service I have EVER experienced. Especially for a family owned business, what a shame. You should really retire. You are not giving patients the proper warnings and advice for getting a new prescription, and you have a terrible attitude. I will gladly share the letter you sent to anybody who wants to read it, which shows your rude, nasty, lying attitude. Also the receipt, which does not state no returns, no refunds, no exchanges. ***Update: While I am not raising the 3 star review, the Dr does deserve to have it known she had her staff call me the first business day after I posted the first review. She offered to recheck my eyes and get me the correct prescription for my glasses at NO COST to me. While the return visit did not go very well customer service wise, she did live up to her obligation of fixing her mistake (which she finally admitted after we went back and forth a bit). She even used the old school lense holders to get the lenses working better. I also scored some more of the awesome eye lid scrub from her, because it is working well on my dry eye issue. The Dr also gave me the business card of her fill in Dr who took care of me so well last year. Like I said before, this office has the staff and potential to be a 5 star eye care center, but I'm going to have to take my business elsewhere in the future. Took my 6 year old here to confirm problems with color vision. Dr Finnell was great. She explained the procedure to my son to reassure him. He ended up needing glasses in addition to being color impaired. The staff was very friendly and helped explain the options for child's glasses. I don't have glasses so I knew nothing before this visit. Dr Finnell also encourages including foods in the diet which promote healthy eyesight. I found this to be helpful as well, even though most of the thing were already in our diet. Glasses came in just a few days after our Saturday appointment. *we also picked up some eclipse viewing glasses :) I have already recommended this office to a friend and will continue to recommend to others. read more

I just had the BEST experience I've ever had at an Optometrist's office! These folks are professional, knowledgeable, wonderful, friendly and super nice. I learned much more today than for the past years at other places. They take all the time you need and mind you, you're the only patient in the office at the time of your appointment. They take Covid seriously and I'm very grateful for that! I'm terrible at picking frames and they made sure I got the right look. When I put on the pair that was selected for me, I knew this was the pair I needed. The whole staff will let you know what looks best on you; no more guessing! Love the feel of the office, staff is friendly. The only problem is that the hours are really hard to work around. Finally received my glasses after waiting 3 weeks. Wore them for 1 day and had such a horrible headache due to them being too tight against my head. Now they can't correct them for another several days so I will be 4 weeks out in addition to the $350 I paid and still am wearing my old glasses. If your retired it should work well for you but I am not. Will have to find a new place to go next time. Disappointing for sure. read more

Parents: If you are looking for a great place to take your kids, Civano Eyecare is it! I took my very busy 5 and 8 year old daughters in for their first eye exam and the staff at Civano Eyecare were extremely patient and kind. The pre-exam work such as photos and color testing were completed with both of my children in the room together and you can tell these ladies have children of their own! They knew exactly how to keep my kids happy; very patient and allowed my girls to take turns and learn about their pictures, etc. Dr. Finnell was also very thorough and took her time with each child. I really appreciated her patience and no-rush approach. Her office has smaller glasses to accommodate young kids and testing shapes instead of letters if your child is too young to read just yet. We had a wonderful experience here and will definitely be returning next year for our annual checks. COVID precautions were also in place and this was an extremely clean environment. Yesterday marked my third year using Civano Eyecare and Dr. Finnell for my vision needs and I'll never go elsewhere. If you're due for an exam but worried about Covid visit Civano. They have gone to great lengths to keep their customers safe including intake from your car, a semi isolated waiting area, immediate hand washing and mask distribution and they clean and sterilize all equipment with virucide solution before you put your face anywhere near it. Best of all, the staff is super clear in explaining what to do and where to go so you're never confused, which has been my experience at other medical offices since the pandemic started. She's gone a step further and invested in equipment that looks at the heath of your eye without the need for dilation or being too close to you for a prolonged period of time. The staff is all super friendly and competent and when I got fitted for contact lenses for the first time they were extra patient and helpful. It's also a beautiful office with antique touches so that's a plus too! read more

I have only been here a couple of times, but had a great experience and appreciated the time and attention the staff and doctor gave me when I had questions. I have been having problems with my eyes so I called Civano Eyecare, told them the issue and they scheduled me an appointment. When I got to my appointment, the doctor, tech and receptionist were all acting very secretive and frantic and the doctor refused to even look at me. Instead, she was acting like I'm dealing with an emergency situation and I need to go see another doctor right away. She did not give me any insight as to what the issue could but instead she said "it could be nothing, it could be serious". They all made me feel like I was out of place. I'm not the professional, they are and they should have told me on the phone when I called to make my appointment that they wouldn't be able to help me. Instead, they wasted my time and I left work early for nothing. Also, this place is hard to find and the receptionist acted like I was retarded when I called to have them help me locate their office. Very bad experience here. I'm sure they're great if you only need glasses or contacts, nothing beyond that. **i specifically asked the doctor if she could look at my eyes to which she is the one who in fact refused to complete the exam. Also, if you're able to read my review, doctor, I did explain what I was making my appointment for to your receptionist. She replied "okay, I'll just put you're having trouble with your right eye". This doctor is obviously combative, argumentative and defensive, even more of a reason to avoid this place. I would have rather paid $50 for you to have a conversation with me and act like a human being than conduct yourself the way you did. Your behavior then and now is despicable. Wow! I had my first appointment at this office and just fell in love. I was a 29 year old girl in denial of having bad vision. I blamed being tired and allergies. Well, when she showed me what my life could be like... without the blur. It broke me down and brought tears to my eyes.... I've been living this blurry life because it's what I knew.... she was kind and funny and made me feel so much better about the situation. The girls in this office were just so cool and kind. Looking for a new eye doctor because frankly it had been a while since I had my eyes checked. Wanted to stay local so I googled the closest optometrist. I was able to make an appointment ONLINE! Super convenient. I was in and out within 40 minutes. Very friendly staff, Dr. Finnell was thorough. Didn't try to sell me something I didn't need. Equipment was state of the art and there is a quaint little coffee shop right next door. I have no vision insurance and the exam was extremely reasonably priced. The staff was professional and courteous. The same could not be said for the doctor. During the exam, she questioned my daughter about her non eye related health issues. Seeing that this line of questioning was upsetting her, Dr. Finnel did not back off. She gave my daughter a brochure on micronutrient analysis, a reference to the paleo diet and suggested she get another physician. If I want dietary information, I will consult a registered dietician.
