Here, they have awesome service and a nice selection. There are several racks filled with glasses made in every style and material. On my first shot looking around the store, I found the perfect pair. Usually they are very punctual, but this time there were complications with keeping the lenses in the frames, so a new part needed to be ordered. I have a really strong prescription, so it's to be expected that there would be some issues to begin with. In short, I will have my glasses in tomorrow afternoon. Turns out his office manager optician got the wrong pupillary distance and that threw everything off. I had to bring them an accurate PD from another eye doctor before they would remake them. Before that he made me come in for another eye exam and when it was slightly different he berated me for wasting his time. They wasted my time and I found out later that it's normal to have slight variations in vision exams based on the time of day, fatigue etc. The issue was not my eye exam; the issue was the pupillary distance. I think he didn't want to lose any money remaking the glasses so instead of just doing that he thought he would attack me until I gave up and stop telling them I couldn't see out of the glasses. This is the dark side of this office that you won't see until someone screws something up. I didn't know anything about pupillary distance or eye exam variation or anything because I never been to a place where I experienced something like this. If his office manager, who I see from some other reviews has been rude to other people as well, had not measured my PD wrong none of this would have ever happened and I would have just thought he was a great guy and it was a great office. But as the saying goes, customer service begins when something goes wrong. They messed up and they bullied me. It was a horrible experience.

During this time, I was told that the office would receive trial lenses and we would determine what would be the best fit and I would undergo a tutorial to learn how to best wear them. I was then sent to another member of their office staff. Despite my indicating that I had never worn contacts before, I was repeatedly asked how large of a supply that I wanted, which showed me that either instructions weren't being read or the person assisting me didn't care. I paid my copay and left, being told I'd be given a call to schedule the tutorial and pickup. Flash forward about a week later (August 28th), when I received a text message indicating that my contacts were ready for pickup. However I had not received a call to set up my tutorial, so I reached out to the office. An extremely nice person picked up the phone and happily took a message but advised me that only one person at the office could do the tutorial for contacts and that I would get a call back. As of today, I haven't received a call back from the office. Understandably, they may be busy but if I don't receive a call back by Friday, I'll probably just go the YouTube route and take my chances.

I could not open my eyes with them on. They did not do a thorough exam to correct it and I was handed a slightly reduced prescription and they re-did the glasses. They still were too strong. I did my own research in my prescription history there to try and get something in between my prior glasses and the new prescription--a middle ground1- and was ultimately told they would not rewrite the prescription and that I should just keep wearing glasses that are too strong and my eyes would adjust. During all of this, I was told I had to meet with the branch manager with whom I'd set up appts and leave work to make and then she would be a no-show. Happened twice. As an aside, she should be working in Vegas as she is a master at shaking down patients offering a variety of unusable contact discounts and offers to make things seem like you are saving money. Long story short, the vision insurance sucked bad so I canceled it and went back to Affinity where I pay out-of-pocket (note, they do accept insurance, but they just weren't covered on my terrible/obscure vision plan). ANYWHO, the office is lovely. Feels almost "posh" when you're in the waiting room. The front dest staff are friendly and personable and the doctors are kind and knowledgable. The equipment is all new, nice, and properly functioning (because I've totally been to places with the fancy new equipment....but it doesn't work so they still rely on archaic methods for assessing vision). The only thing I don't like is how they REALLY try to make you buy your lenses/contacts from them. Honestly, though, that's how all vision places seem to be so I guess that's the norm - must be where the real money is in the business. But they're nice enough. I always decline their lenses/frames and just take my prescription to Costco (cheapest in town - even cheaper than the online sites!) Moral of the story - I'm happy to be back as a customer at Affinity! I'll never stray again!
