Wow the worst experience ever , my husbands prescription was so strong he had to have them reduced. Then on mine I have 2 prescriptions one for the computer and one for everyday. Then they made them both the computer glasses. Then my lenses started cracking from the top on both lenses. Went in and talked to the girl at the desk and said she would check with someone in back came back out and said they would replace them even though they are out of warranty. This was 1 week or so before thanksgiving. I have called like 3-4 times and always there gonna call me back when they finally did now they say they won't do it cuz they are out of warranty but now I've waited so long each one of the lenses have 4-5 cracks and just getting longer Lesson learned get it in writing from the girl at the front desk read more

I have a special needs son who has terrible anxiety about going to the dr and when he had, what I suspected was pink eye, we were lucky enough to get in to see Dr Reichardt. I live in Maryland and come back to visit Tucson every summer with my family. We always get our eyes checked out by Dr. Christina. My kids absolutely love her. When I first started seeing Dr. Reichardt, I had very poor eye sight & a severe astigmatism. My astigmatism was so bad I couldn't have surgery to correct my vision. Dr. Reichardt suggested vision shaping lenses. You wear the lenses while you sleep and it corrects your vision. I am now seeing 20/20 and my astigmatism is gone. Dr Reichardt and these lenses have been amazing, as my job is not ideal for glasses. Before going here I was on my way to not being able to wear contacts at all. I am disappointed in my experience with National Eye and Ear of Tucson. I first started coming to this National Eye and Ear to get gas permeable contact lenses about 4 years ago. After trying to get my prescription correct for over a year, I gave up and accepted using the GP lenses without completely correcting my vision. There was no option for a refund at this point. I went back to wearing contacts. After getting my most recent eye exam, the doctor sent me away with a contact sample. The sample she sent me away with did not account for my astigmatism. I went back to the office and she immediately corrected the issue and provided me with a sample at the correct prescription but the incorrect brand, just to try out the prescription with the astigmatism. This prescription worked. I called the office and asked for them to order the contacts with the correct prescription in the brand I use. The office ordered my contacts in the correct brand without the astigmatism... I didnt realize until I had already tried the contacts that they didnt account for the astigmatism. It is now an additional $300 to get the correct prescription contact lenses. I dont know why the office would order my contacts WITHOUT the astigmatism. Why would they send me away multiple times without accounting for my astigmatism? Unfortunately, I will be finding a new optometrist. After having failed with my GP lenses and now not replacing my contacts after being told they would take care of it, I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

The staff here is really nice. I went in for an eye exam and they did a lot of tests that my old optometrist never did. For the first time ever I was able to get a distance prescription that I can see clearly with and didn't give me a headache, so the doctor seems to be doing it right! read more

Dr. Reichert is an amazing optometrist! The most recent prescription she wrote for me is the best I've ever had. I can't say you'll get the same results, but I feel like I'm looking through a camera lens when I look in the distance and my close vision is crystal clear as well. I really appreciate her patience, too. I went back to her to twice after my initial visit to double- and triple-check my Rx, because the outside company that made my glasses didn't get it right and claimed the problem was the Rx, not the glasses. The mistake was theirs, not Dr Reichert's. I think most people would have been pretty peeved to have someone question their work, but she was just as friendly and professional the third time as she was the first time. I've purchased several pairs of glasses over the time I've been visiting to this practice and the opticians always take the time to make sure all is done to the patient's satisfaction. I am elderly and was sent here by my referring doctor under my UHC policy. I fully expected to have an exam and prescription written for my glasses with the majority covered under my insurance. The quality and professionalism of the exam was more than acceptable. When I asked about the glasses they of course advised me that they could provide the glasses. I was somewhat taken aback with the price of the glasses and then discovered that they were not covered under my insurance. I ordered the glasses at the price they quoted but over the weekend went to COSTCO. Same glasses for $300 less in cost. Called first thing Monday morning to cancel my order and was told I couldn't do that as they were already ordered. So much for customer service. They will not see me back again and I strongly urge you to shop the prices they quote you for your frames and glasses. read more

Dr. Reichardt is amazing! I moved to Tucson a few years ago but hadn't found a good eye doctor yet. She is warm, kind, personable and very knowledgeable. I was in and out in a short period of time. Such an easy, smooth experience. Her staff is nice as well. Big plus, she doesn't require you to wear a mask. She will wear one if that makes you more comfortable. read more

The Doctor was very nice... but she ended up giving me a bad prescription... I went back for a free re-check, and got a significantly different prescription, and she blamed me for the first mistake. I ended up having to spend good money to have the glasses I ordered after the first prescription (from a different place, due to the high cost of glasses here) re-done. read more

Dr. Christine Reichardt is the best! She saved my daughter's wedding for me! I was recently in town from Texas for my daughter's wedding, and she was able to get me in immediately early on a Saturday for an emergency eye issue. I was able to attend and perform all the mother of the bride duties that night because she fixed my issue. Also, she is one of the kindest doctors I have ever met. I had never had an eye exam in my life and i figured it was time. I had noticed some blurring when I was trying to read street signs from a distance. From the very beginning phone call the experience was great! they got me in really quickly and took care of the insurance. I came in for my appointment and the whole entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful!! the doctor was awesome walking me thru the whole process from beginning to end. I cant really say how it is as far as the prices, but to me it was not that bad at all (with insurance). if you are shopping around for a new/first eye doctor, this is the place to go!!! read more

Really awesome father/daughter operated business. I don't usually write reviews, but I was surprised they don't have many and thought I'd throw my 2 cents in. I haven't been in here for the "ear" part, but I've had my vision checked & gotten orthokeratology lenses here with no problem. When I first got my set 2-3 years ago, I actually lost one lens (twice!) in the first six months (not used to contacts, they fell down the drain at one point... make sure the sink stopper is in all the way and you put a cloth down!) and at one point got an eye infection & scratched my cornea up (entirely my own fault), but the folks here were never less than professional, polite, and caring. The lenses I lost were replaced quickly. They also have the little travel sized solution bottles that you can request several of if you're about to hop on a plane. Yearly(ish) lens cleanings are free if you get your lenses with them- I don't remember what the exact process is, but I believe it involved UV sterilization, polishing etc, which you want in order to remove protein buildup. No issues with lens quality, one set's lasted me about two years so far. The actual orthokeratology treatment has been very effective for me. I have myopia and astigmatism. It's about -7.00 in both eyes. Wearing the lenses every night for 7-8 hours results in clear vision the next day. Unfortunately the lenses don't correct astigmatism, so one of my eyes is almost always going to see with mild blur, but the other has nearly perfect vision. If you wear the lenses too long before going to sleep or after waking up they can cause irritation, but this is actually a good thing because it makes me cut out bedtime distractions - it's hard to stay up on my phone now! The downside of course is that you have to use them or you can't see well the next day. Within a week of not wearing them my vision goes back to baseline horrible. Also, if you want to get lasik you aren't supposed to wear contacts of any sort for weeks/months before, which is going to be a pain. My advice - have a pair or two of backup glasses that are in-between 0.00 and your normal vision range. It's not a solution for everyone but it works for me; I definitely feel reduced eye strain compared to glasses/everyday contacts and my job and many hobbies involve gazing at a computer screen. read more

Prices for the exams and lenses are affordable, and they're always offering tremendous rebate options. Unlike other places, you never feel rushed during your appointment. Staff is impolite, rude, discourteous, unpleasant and brusque. The prescription was wrong. How do I know this? They were reading glasses and one eye focused in at 7 inches from the book and the other one focused in at 11 inches from the book. How many people wouldn't read with a book in their lap? These glasses were out of focus and you had to hold them way to close to make out anything. Cheap readers from the dollar store work better. They had no interest in hearing what was wrong, these folks only wanted to tell me how I didn't know what I was talking about and I had to "get used" to the new glasses. Between me and my girlfriend, we have had a number of incorrect prescription from this place and we are never going back. read more

Dr. Gosses is extremely kind and knowledgeable you can tell he's been doing this forever and does it well. The machinery seems a little Antiquated but does not take away from getting the perfect prescription. My husband tried to go elsewhere to a new place where everthing was high tech and had trouble getting the right prescription for him. The staff is super nice and helpful and they have a wide selection of there to choose from. read more

The doctor is great, however the staff is horrible. We had two appointments back to back however they completely forgot about my boyfriends appointment. We had to wait an additional hour just to have him seen. When I was getting frames fitted the girl did not know what to do someone had to come help her which made the visit longer. We were billed wrong she had to change the transaction several times. She even wrote out the wrong prescription. The glasses took longer than the time frame we were advised. When I called to complain about the experience I was put on hold for an office manager however no one came back on the line. I will never return to this office!! I have been going to National Eye and Ear for any years and have been happy with their Optometry skills. Both Dr. Gosses and Dr. Reichardt, are awesome and very personable. I was referred to National Eye and Ear by an Insurance agent who was a patient as at the time. I wanted to get Soft contacts to wear in lieu of glasses as I wanted the freedom of not having glasses which tended to fall off while I was working. When Dr. Gosses started offering VST program, I immediately got on that program and have been on it ever since. Dr.Reichardt eventually took over the VST patients and I have been with her since. With VST my vision now is 20/15. My sister had pictures of her eyes taken and her optometrist noticed something strange and with my mother having several eye issues. I let Dr. Reichardt know and she took pictures of the back of my eyes with the new equipment that they had just gotten fairly recently and found out that I had Glaucoma. Immediately got me on a prescription to combat the disease. Now Dr. Reichardt is very concerned and has been monitoring my eye pressure 4 times a year. I cannot say enough good about my experiences with National Eye and Ear. read more

I have gone to a lot of eye doctors in Tucson and have never been thrilled, that is unitl I fould National Eye and Ear. It is near the U of A, they take most insurances, and the experience is a great one everytime. I will never look elsewhere for another eye doctor. Dr. Reichardt cares, helped me see better than ever, and is a great doctor. Dr. Gosses treats my dad for glaucoma and is great too. You can't go wrong if you go here. I have been a patient with Dr. Gosses since I was in 7th grade and am now in my 40's. Dr. Gosses is nice and friendly doctor. He evaluates my eyes so precisely that my prescription has been accurate each time. During my college years, I waited till the last minute to make an appointment and was not able to be seen by Dr. Gosses and went to see another eye doctor. I knew immediately when I left that my prescription was not correct. I could not see very well due to my prescription being too strong and was diagnosed with having astigmatism. I went back to Dr. Gosses and he checked my vision and fixed my prescription. Dr. Gosses did several tests to double check for astigmatism. He found that I did not. I have never gone to another doctor since then and highly recommend Dr. Gosses and Dr. Reichardt. My children see Dr. Reichardt and love her. She is the most caring and understanding eye doctor I have ever met. Her optometry skills are equal to her father and they make a great team. The staff are friendly and make you feel welcome. I tell all my friends if you need a good eye doctor go and see Dr.Gosses or Dr. Reichardt. They are excellent eye doctors. read more
