First, the "manager" would not allow us to put the umbrellas down at our table of 7 after the sun had gone down, ok no big deal... but here is where it went down the hill. We ordered (2) Spinach Artichoke Dip appetizers and this was nothing more than cold spinach & artichoke soup that should have been introduced to an oven or at the very least... a microwave. We ordered 7 dinners ranging from Broiled Salmon, Pasta Alfredo, Chicken Piccata and New York Strip. Four of our meals were served and then 2 of our meals were served 20 minutes later and the last meal was served 10 minutes after that. I always try to be considerate especially during these times of staff shortages, supply chain issues, etc., but this server just didn't know the menu and I just didn't feel that the manager was very accommodating with the seating. I am not giving them a lower rating because the Salmon and NY Strip was actually pretty good and they did make an adjustment on my guest check. However, I would prefer to have a good experience and pay full price. I believe that this restaurant has what it takes to be a much better venue, however, it will be a long time before I try this restaurant again. There are so many other fine dining options in Wyandotte to settle for average or below average.

The food at The Forge was delicious -- no doubt about it. Everything we ordered was full of flavor, and the Parmesan-covered fries had a ton of potential... once they finally arrived. Unfortunately, the service didn't live up to the quality of the food. It took 25 minutes just to get our fries, and when they showed up, half were hot and half were cold. Even our server seemed just as surprised as we were that they hadn't come out yet, which made it clear that there was a lack of communication between the staff and the kitchen or management. When we raised the issue, there wasn't really any sense of urgency or a proper resolution offered -- just a dismissive response and a half-a**ed apology. The situation felt brushed off rather than addressed, which was frustrating. It's a shame, because the food was genuinely great. But good food should be matched with good service, and in this case, it wasn't. read more

Awful food - Ignorant kitchen. I chose this based on the great reviews online for my mom's birthday. 3 of our 6 entrees were wrong, 2 steaks were still raw in the middle when served. To "re-fire" these took the time of a whole new dinner. The manager was too busy serving bar guests to check on his kitchen. After waiting another 20 mins., I sought out kitchen staff to correct this. Plus what gourmet restaurant on Put In Bay does not have a full bar! Seriously? Very limited menu and they still could not do it right. The pork chops and sliders tasted ok but I could have cooked them. In hind sight, I should have taken her to Frostys or Chicken Patio. Neither are gourmet but their food is presented as promised. This place is not going to last until they get a new set of kitchen staff and manager. read more
