Honestly was trying to find a reason to give it a 4 star but could not. What a gem on PIB. Excellent food and great vegan options. Had the sweet kale ceasar and finished off with the buckeye crepe. Really cool part of PIB I had not been too - off the main drag and away from the drunks - not that there is anything wrong with that on PIB ). This place was adorable. We went on a friday morning. To be very honest our service was slow. They were very busy, but getting our Bill took 30 after everyone was done eating. But our waitress was extremely kind and seemed as though she wasn't there just to serve you. But to get to know you. They even brought the bride a complimentary drink. Which was great. Now for the food. I actually had the Atlantic crepe. It had smoked salmon and a dill sauce. I couldnt cut through my crepe. It was as to hard. As I'm 90% through I'm thinking, I never saw the salmon. Everyone who is in PIB should come here for any type of meal. I went there this past weekend with a large group of girls (about 12). We were quoted a little while due to the size of our group but then offered us the bar which we pretty much overtook. I'm sure at 11 am on a Saturday the last thing the bartenders want to deal with is a bunch of hungover girls. Nope - our bartender (the bar manager) was absolutely amazing! She took all of our drink orders and made the ASAP along with the coffee and the waters we requested. During our meals, the owner came out and chatted with us and he was the sweetest ever! Their food is FANtastic along with their drinks - lots of Cleveland beers which I was happy to see! I highly recommend this place, excellent service, and amazing food! read more

They specialize in Crepe's but have some more traditional offerings as well. They also have a barista coffee offerings as well. We are so glad to have found The Old Forge. All of the ingredients in the food tastes and look fresh and every dish we tried tasted like it was hand made. No canned, prepackaged sauces or food here. Even more impressive are the prices. Perfect spot for breakfast. Not only is there not much else on the island for a sit down breakfast, but once I passed it and read the menu I couldn't leave! It was busy on a Saturday morning but they sat us sooner than our given wait time. Stopped in on a Wednesday, the 4th of July, 2018 around 9:30. The restaurant was busy but we were immediately seated; two adults, two kids. The service was exceptional. The host was quick and courteous, the waitress was prompt and attentive and in between visits from our waitress other waiters and assistants checked on us and cleaned up our table. The menu is concise and has some great offerings, prices are a little higher than average but you're paying for ambiance and trendiness here along with a bit higher quality of food than average. The food was delicious and we were in and out quickly. My gripes are absolutely minimal, like not getting a straw with my water, or not having condiments set on the tables, such as ketchup, sweetener for coffee & tea, salt & pepper, etc. Regardless, I'll definitely be back, it was a nice experience with good food! read more

Creative and stunning breakfast spot with more than just eggs, bacon and coffee standard. I tend to Yelp reviews to find the place to try in new areas and this one fit the bill - literally - they had an offer for $10 you get a $20 certificate!! Major score!! I ordered the breakfast tacos and didn't skimp...I added the pork and avocado, plus got multi-grain bread, homemade jelly and the potatoes. WOW!!! It was the perfect meal to compliment my liquid fulfillment the night before. The sauce on the tacos was spicy...and maybe a little too much so a suggestion would be to ask for it on the side and drizzle the amount you'd like. My husband order the Panini breakfast and despite his typical bland no frills standard this was a great pick for him (my tacos were beyond his palate ability as a complete meal...though he did sample). We enjoyed our breakfast with friends and all of our food was great (note the fruit bowl is not a big winner - Eric this comment is for you) ;) The service was STELLAR! I always had a full cup of coffee and water (again much needed). We took our leisurely time and enjoyed the conversation and atmosphere...definitely will return again. Lastly my only reason for no 5 stars is I would've loved a Bloody Mary or Mimosa...but there's no alcohol served here. Sometimes those little drinks just complete the whole vacation breakfast. The salad was very good and in my opinion, priced fairly. The Bloody Mary was far from spicy... That was slightly disappointing. We ordered crepes for desert and of course the waitress brought them out first, they were tough and tasted like they had sat out for hours. My wife and I decided to go to The Forge in Put In Bay. Great reviews, blah blah. Let me tell you, this is hands down the best breakfast place in the area. First experience: She ordered the raspberry cheesecake crepe. I ordered the the smoked salmon eggs Benedict. The staff is incredible. Very attentive and you can tell they care about not only what they do, but they buy into what the owners want the staff to buy into. I write reviews only when it is super great or super awful. This is the former. My wife's first bite of the raspberry cheesecake crepe caused her eyes to roll in the back of her head. I had a bite. It was great, but I'm not normally one for sweets for breakfast. She is. She talked about it for hours after she had it. I had the smoked salmon eggs Benedict. It has red onion and tomato on it. It was fantastic. Just a few things I would change. One , the onions should be much thinner. Two, they should always have a sharp knife served with the Benny's they make. English muffins tend to be difficult to cut with a butter knife. I've made smoked salmon eggs Benedict myself, and I'm stealing how they did this. Lol. The combination of the tomatoes and onion with the cold smoked salmon was amazing. The following day, we went to another place for breakfast. Total disappointment. We went back the next morning. This time I had the breakfast tacos. Guess what my wife had? Yep, the same crepes. Haha. The tacos were awesome. I had them with bacon and avocado for an extra charge. Small gripe, is they are messy. I wish the plate were bigger, as they are served with a taco holder (there are three total) and fried potatoes that are seasoned perfectly, on a very narrow plate. I loved eating them over my potatoes allowing the stuff that fell off into them. Black beans, cheese, tomato, onion, cilantro, and a sriracha cream sauce all combined with my potatoes for an amazing combination. If you don't like messy food in the morning, probably another option would be a good choice. Lol. My wife's crepes were spot on amazing once again. Do yourself a favor and go here. I wish there was a place in Columbus Ohio where We live. It's that great. It's a touch pricey, but well worth the extra cost.
