I did not have the experience that others have had here & shared on Yelp. The service was good on a slow Monday night & the food (specifically the mac & cheese) was insanely good. If others came here when it was very busy maybe the food & service suffered for them. That was not my experience. My wife and I stopped by for dinner tonight. We were so impressed with JJ's Tavern we decided to give their other property a try. Regretfully, I wish we would've driven on to JJ's. MacStack Tavern seemed very pedestrian in comparison. We were not impressed. Definitely different cocktail menus and dining menus. It seemed they were trying to cater to a younger crowd at MacStack; however, there was not a younger crowd there. A lot of older people and families. We were there at approximately 6:30 PM on a Friday night. Not a whole lot going on. Very limited cocktail menu and almost zero local beers. We are ordered their loaded potato chips to start. They had a crispy breading but were overcooked, dry, and tasted like dill pickles. The mac and cheese was hot and creamy. Also ordered the bbq Mac and cheese, which had a good taste but was more runny than creamy. The first thing we ordered was our drinks, which we didn't receive until after our appetizer and food was served and I had to ask for them. Came in around 7:00 with a party of 4. Only 3 other tables of patrons seated when we arrived. We were seated right away but waited a full 20 minutes before waitress came over to take drinks order. 1 soda, 3 draft beers. Another 15 minutes before the soda was dropped off and then told the folks that ordered beer had to order different beer because they changed the taps. Gave the new beer order and she said she would be right back. Another 15 minutes and still no beers. It wasn't busy. When I walked around the corner in an attempt to just get my drinks from the bar- she was just hanging out with the bar tender. For a restaurant which calls itself the "Mac Stack" that was some of the worst macaroni and cheese I've ever had, and my wife agreed. It was watery and seemed to have very little cheese. The husband and I stopped by this place on our way to the drive thru safari around the corner. I saw that it had a good rating and I was craving some Mac and cheese! Unfortunately, we did not have the greatest experience with the food. The restaurant was overall clean and we had a friendly waitress. The atmosphere reminded me of like a biker/rock bar. There were two other couples in the entire restaurant so it was pretty slow when we came in. We started with a spinach dip and that was good! I ordered a BBQ pulled pork sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese and my husband ordered fried chicken sandwich with a side of onion rings. My sandwich was very dry and the coleslaw was not very appetizing. The Mac and cheese had so much cheese in it that it was extremely disproportionate to the noodles in it. I ended up picking out the 5-6 noodles and leaving the remainder of the sauce. I did not eat my sandwich as the pork ended up having a good amount of fatty pieces in the sandwich. My husband picked off his chicken from his sandwich and ate it by itself. The total cost we paid was $48 not including tip. Yes, we could have said something to the waitress but this was her first week on the job and we felt bad mentioning it. I will say for the quality of the food, the prices are pretty high. Service was fast at lunchtime on a Monday. Restaurant was clean. Food was good for what it was and came out fast. If you have littles in diapers though make sure you have an area in your car you can change them. The changing table in both the men and women's bathroom is completely unusable (as of July 2024) because whoever installed it didn't want to drill through their tile. I'm 5'4" and could not change my baby in the women's room. For that alone I wouldn't recommend it for other families with babies. But on food and service, it was otherwise nice. If you don't have littles in diapers though, the experience was great for bigger kids and adults. read more

Definitely recommend the The MacStack Tavern. It is wheelchair accessible. Tiffany made Jason's strawberry milkshake with love. They were all so kind. I had a Brussel Mac n cheese m, Big a buffalo chicken and Little had a 5 cheese. Lil ate all of his and big and I had half of ours we will definitely be back. It's 80s theme throughout. The worst chicken tenders I've ever had. Breading looked burnt and was coated in so many spices. Tasted awful and upset my stomach and I picked the meat out of the breading mostly. We were there at 5:30 on a Saturday, and there were only a few other tables with customers. The ambiance is that of a bar. The place smelled like cabbage, but they do serve Brussel sprouts. The service was initially quick. The food came out hot. We were without drinks in the middle and through the rest of the meal. The house made chips were fresh. The ham and Swiss was ok. The pulled pork mac and cheese was very cheesy. The coleslaw and mustard on top was a different touch. The fries were frozen and expensive, $5 for a small rectangle plate. I would have thought they would have been fresh cut considering they made their chips. The chicken tenders were moist and a good deal at $12, but I didn't care at all for the flavor.
