I really appreciate that they make a vegan breakfast menu available. I had the vegan tofu scramble which looked great. I often make myself tofu scramble for breakfast, so I have a high bar, but I thought the spice blend was a little off balance. They state on the menu that it has turmeric in it, which I love, but I think the turmeric was a bit overpowering. The scramble tasted basically bland except for the turmeric, which was too strong. I would add a little more nutritional yeast and other flavors (try curry powder, cumin, paprika) to make it a bit more interesting to eat. I don't think the potatoes were seasoned at all. My other issue, which is a little more concerning, is that I found someone's hair in my meal right as I was finishing eating my plate. It's definitely not mine (I have long hair). I was totally grossed out but I'd already finished eating and didn't want to cause a problem so I just left it, but I am probably not going to return even though this is one of the only places that offers vegan breakfast options in the area. read more

Being hungry we stopped in the Flying Egg for breakfast. A reservation is a must. The place is long and narrow and was filled with us tourists. Checking in with Yelp, the place has mixed reviews. Oh, try it anyway. My friend ordered an English muffin and coffee. The muffin was soggy. I figured they cooked it on the grill, not the way. It just fell limp in your hand and my reaction was to laugh. I ordered huevos rancheros which was excellent and a latte. It was also well-presented on the plate. Service is horrible and staff is racist! My husband and I have been here several times and we've always thought the food was average, but my husband has never enjoyed going here. He always felt like the staff was rude and wait times for getting seated and having our order taken are too long. I always overlooked the poor service because this location is usually busy, until our most recent experience...We made a reservation and arrived a few minutes early. We were told it would take a few minutes for them to get the table ready. We waited 15 minutes and I asked if our table is ready yet, the hostess said no. 5 minutes later another party of 2 with a reservation 15 mins after ours walked in and got seated immediately. I asked the hostess why they got seated before us and she told me she didn't have a reservation for me. At that point I lost it, so she rolled her eyes at me and seated us. We then waited 10 minutes at the table and no one came to bring us water or take our order. We walked out and will never return again. Asked if they had Mayo (love it on my fries) which they promptly gave me a small dish with about a tablespoon of Mayo. Perfect! Came here for a late lunch with my mom. Got seated fine (no wait) since it was a weekday and probably close to 1 pm. I got the crispy chicken sandwich and my mom got the Club I think. Food was fine, chicken was better than I expected and the club sandwich was standard. Service was pretty hands off (ok because we didn't need much) but more importantly my mom found a piece of plastic in her food and the waiter was unapologetic and didn't offer to comp anything or do anything when we got the check. Well, it's one of those places you truly believe is amazing and then have a sub-par experience. The menu looks great and our fun waiter would show us plates on his way to tables while we were ordering. In the end he forgot to order my dish and caught he mistake when hers came out. So he confirmed with me my dish, ordered it, delivered them together and hers came stone cold and virtually inedible. Mine was also wrong but still hot and yummy. They manager was quite apologetic, went back and made her dish again in 5min by himself and then comped the whole meal. His response was spot on and the food was delish. Typically I would not revisit a restaurant with this much error nor would I give 4 starts but the atmosphere and decor was wonderful, the server was so much fun even though he made fatal flaws and he food (once we got it correct) was top notch. Add the fact the manager made all the right moves to correct the problem and I offer 4 stars and my recommendation to you. We will be back for the 5 Star experience soon read more

Service is decent and we waited about 20 minutes for our food which is not unreasonable. I had the vegan skillet-as an aspiring vegan this was a stretch, kind of dry and while a good serving of veggies it was overloaded with quinoa. They need to adjust the ratio of sweet potatoes to quinoa on that one. My hubby had the veggie Benedict. The sauce was good -a little different and creative. A good number of veggies was nice. Eggs were not over cooked. Breakfast potatoes were seasoned well with peppers and onions. They do have a good number of vegetarian options and a few other vegan choices so we will be back to give it another try. read more

Okay soo. My review is mostly based off the fact that we waited for an entire hour for our food. And no apologies in between at any point. They didn't dock anything from the bill. No apologies when it finally did come. And there was hardly anyone in the actual restaurant that last half hour either. It didn't help that we just finished a hike and I was starving I'm always understanding of delays, but you should be accommodating your guests for a less than stellar experience. I ordered a latte with almond milk. Yes I know the consistency is different, but there was no foam to be found (see pic). I think they just poured almond milk into coffee. Ugh. The Egger burger was tasty, and they at least cooked it perfectly rare. The waffle with the waffle and chicken meal to me was very bland, as were the caramelized apples that my girlfriend added to them at an extra cost. The salmon toast was standard but included much too much cream cheese. Anyways, clearly not a win here. I adore this place. There really isn't much in the way of parking, but I tend to visit them while staying at the Bethlehem Hotel and can walk over. The decor is so fun. They have some handmade sconces and pendant lights that are amazing. They remind me of white eggs that got blasted with a pellet gun. I have forgotten the artist that made them, but ask the staff. They will know where to send you. They have a wonderful poached egg, perfectly runny always! And if you ever have the time, please be a glutton and have the Dutch baby! It's good but definitely not great. I had the classic Eggs Benedict with the homestyle fries. Both were under seasoned and were placed on a very large plate that visually made the meal look smaller and less appealing. The hollandaise sauce was a nice consistency but I didn't detect a trace of lemon in the sauce. I have to give them credit for the eggs being cooked perfectly, but overall it was definitely lacking in a lot of areas. My girlfriend had the vegetarian Eggs Benedict and it had the same issue with being under seasoned, but other than that it was quite nice and the only other complaint would be it could use some more veggies. She had asked for fruit to be substituted in place of the home fries which the waitress said was possible, but that was lost along the way and she got the fries instead. I wouldn't mention it but it was just the 2 of us, and we didn't have complicated orders to keep track of. I really like the interior of the store, it feels welcoming and it was tastefully decorated, albeit a little small. We were seated in the back which was great because the front had booths that had people sitting way too close together for those concerned with covid. The service was relatively fast each time, despite being very busy, and our servers were always kind. Most recently, we had Lauren help us, and she was super helpful with her recommendations. This wonderful cafe was a delightful experience that is a short walk from Hotel Bethlehem. I like this place! Spacious enough for groups and great for brunch. Prepare to wait if you're coming for brunch on the weekend though, it's a hot spot. We went on a weekday so no worries there. I love the interior of this place. The food options are a little more exotic compared to other brunch eateries I've been as well. Many types of coffee to choose from and a robust brunch menu will make everyone happy. The Huevos Rancheros were great and the Hash browns were solid as well. They also have a bar with a nice selection of brunch cocktails as well. Our server was very friendly and helpful. he did all that he can in a busy restaurant. It was his "honor and privilege" to serve us. He said that like 4-5 times! When it comes to parking there is metered street parking. There were 2 of us and we all drove separately and we didn't find any trouble finding a space so early in the day. We both parked within a block from the restaurant. Overall fabulous dining spot in Bethlehem. The coffee is delicious, and the service could not be better. I was extremely disappointed in The Flying Egg. I came here for my birthday with 4 of my friends, we made a reservation for 2pm. I was really excited to come here after reading the reviews on yelp and hearing from locals that it was a great restaurant. The resturant closes at 4pm. We were running a bit late and I called before hand to let them know. They were rude on the phone and told me that the kitchen closes at 3pm. I told them it would not be a problem and we would order when we sat down. Our waitress, Lauren was the worst. She was extremely rude and demeaning and acted like she didn't care about our table at all. She paid 0 attention to our table and never asked if we needed anything or if we were enjoying our food. She also carded me and didn't say happy birthday after the repeated times my friends said it very loud. Lol. This isn't a big deal but you'd think that if you were a waitress, you'd want a tip from a larger table. Not to mention that my eggs Benedict were extremely cold and had little to no hollandaise sauce on top. The only thing I actually enjoyed from this resturant was my peach Bellini which is kind of hard to mess up. My friends also said that their food was mediocre.
