Complete sensory adventure! I suffer from back pain, and at 6 months pregnant (almost 7), I am pretty much willing to try anything. So, when my usual masseuse canceled on me, my husband suggested I try a float as he has been a few times. I tend to have ruminating thoughts/anxiety, and I did initially have a hard time switching off my brain (When will the ocean waves sound stop? When will the lights turn off? What if I get salt in my eyes? What do I do with my arms? Will I bump into the walls?) When it was finally completely still and dark, my mind was able to wander a bit and I found myself beginning to relax. I'm glad I choose the 60 minute session (upon recommendation of my husband), because otherwise I may not have given myself enough time to just let go. The best part? Once I began to calm down, so did baby! He was no longer doing his Cirque routine, and it was so peacefully quiet that I was able to hear his heartbeat! I even drifted off enough that I hadn't realized I was snoozing until I snored myself awake. All in all, very cool experience and I will happily try again (if only they would open a Firewheel location *Hint, Hint*). But, the Frisco location was very nice and close to the Joint, which I cruised on over to after the float for a quick adjustment. First time floating and I could not be any more happier. The staff is very nice and gave me an orientation of how the floating process goes. The first thing I notice about this place is how CLEAN it is. From the room to the showers to the actual float pod, it's really immaculate. The floating itself is very relaxing and I was provided with ear plugs. You have a choice of music or the lights being on/off and it's all personal preference. I went there for the first time yesterday and I loved it! As soon as you walk in, you see smiling faces and smell all the good smells and start to relax immediately. I had no idea what I was in for or what to do, and the super-friendly staff explained everything step by step. I started with the hydro-massage per their recommendation and it was a great way to start to unwind. After that, I was led to my room with the float pod and took a quick shower. I was skeptical because I thought I'd be bored after 10 minutes, but I wasn't. I liked it pitch black, so I kept the light off. I loved that you can hear the relaxing sounds that are piped in as you float. I just "laid" there for an hour, arms stretched out above my head (that was the most comfortable for me. I drifted in and out of sleep, and the hour flew by. I didn't want to leave! I signed the wall, bought a huge bath bomb that smelled incredible, and was on my way. I was prepared for a pitch on buying a membership, which I don't like, but there was no pressure to buy anything at all. I'd definitely recommend this place. The facility is very clean and inviting, and the staff is extremely nice and helpful. I slept like a baby that night. I'll be back for sure. read more

The FLOAT SPOT is THE best place for floating... I've been over 5 times and each time I've had an amazing experience. The customer service from the owner and his sons is always top notch. They have never been rude, rushing or inconsiderate. To the contrary, they are always polite, accommodating and personable; which adds to the experience. The facility is always inviting, clean, pleasant and modern. I've been to the other float place in Dallas, and there is no comparison. I love the atmosphere there. I received a gift certificate here from my best friend for Christmas.After reading about the "hydro" massage on their website I was excited to try it.I had a 100 minute "hydro" massage and I decided to do 20 minutes because that was the average one and I wasn't sure how or if I would enjoy it yet.I ended up having to run late to my appointment and and ended up calling them and letting them know.The coworker told me that was fine not to rush.When I got there he kindly greeted me up had me within a room in 5 minutes.He was very kind and calming(something they are highly raved for)I was taken to a room where I laid in this pod,I was asked to pick my aromatherapy and was told I could listen to their music or music of my own.I was closed into the pod where only my shoulders (barely) and neck where exposed. This is my latest greatest discovery! You have to stop by and try it out - a ten minute test ride will leave you wanting more. I joined right away and stopped by after work today - what a GREAT break between work and home. I left feeling physically rejuvenated, but the emotional benefit was just as fantastic. The service here is wonderful. They truly care about your experience and they make sure it was satisfactory. I love the pods I typically can't be in there for longer than 30min but I could see how some people could! Go on a day when you can clear your schedule and take full advantage of what this rest can do for your body! (It will even help you sleep better at night.)My only suggestion would be do to all the salt in the pod, don't touch your brows or eyes it will seep into your eyes and it's not much fun :) FYI- pregnant women: do this! For the longest time I've struggled with back pain and when I came across The Float Spot I thought why not give it a shot because when you're in pain you'll pretty much try anything. Let me start off by saying the employees are the nicest most caring people I've ever meet they truly just want to help people and nowadays it's super hard to find people like that. Love this place... Owners are awesome, friendly folks, their sons are just as great. The aqua massage with aromatherapy is customizable for pressure and location and it's nice not to have to get undressed. We make a point of coming for a massage at least once a week! The float tanks are perfect with different lighting and music options. It's a great way to get muscles to relax and so soothing. This place is amazing. It's clean, the employees are so kind and helpful, the interior is beautiful. I've never ever had a poor experience, they're always on their A game. Decided to try this with a groupon and love it. My husband listens to music at night so he is going to bring his own music next time but I love quiet and dark so it was great. I tried a different place after this and was so disappointed so I am back to The Float Spot. This is on my wish list for Christmas and other special "what do you want" times. I wasn't a big fan of the hydro message but my husband loved that part (I get muscle craps in my legs very easy so just not my thing). If you have never tried this you have to give it ago. The Float Spot is amazing! What makes me sad is I have lived here over a year and I never new what it was. I saw the sign but never caught on. As soon as I heard what it was, I had to try it. I am a sucker for any relaxing experience out there because I am constantly abusing my body with a high stress job and being a working mom. The first day I went in with a migraine and 20 minutes later, it was gone - who knew only 20 minutes of Hydrotherapy could do so much. I love it! Today I experienced my first Float and it is wonderful as well. Basically I would say The Float Spot is my Heaven on Earth and I can truly get away from it all while I am there. AND as everyone else has posted, Ray adds to your experience and wants to be sure it is as unique as you and you leave completely satisfied. You must try The Float Spot for yourself. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! I was late for an appointment because I got lost. I arrived at the float spot and was greeted by the owner. I mentioned I was late and asked if there were still any openings. He said nope and just stared at me with a smirk. I never once asked for (or thought about asking for) the no show fee to be refunded I knew I owed it fair and square. I felt like I also owed an explanation for the reason I was late so I told the owner, Zach, I got lost. He just stared at me with that same smirk. I then mentioned that he looked like he could care less. His response was a shrug and the comment, "It's not my fault you got lost." His youth and immaturity were overshadowed only by his total lack of customer service. I wanted nothing more from him that to care that I had difficulty finding his location and a simple offer to reschedule another day. What Zach didn't bother to find out was that I had left my house in time to be 30 minutes early for my appointment. I had encountered a wreck on the freeway, but knew I could still make it in time since I left early. Unfortunately, the maps app on my phone was leading me astray. I stopped at a store along the way to ask a stranger to look up the address, verify I had noted it correctly and see if their maps app would give me better directions. I had the address correct, but their app was saying the same as my maps app which was incorrect. At that point I tried to call the float spot to get directions from them, but was sent directly to voice mail. Zach was right. None of that was his fault, but it was extremely stressful.. I'm not sure why the customer service others speak of wasn't offered to me, but after over an hour of driving and futile attempts to get good directions I wanted nothing more from the owner than compassion. It was something he was unwillilng to give in any way, shape, form or fashion. I only gave one star because it was required to post a review. Zach's lack of customer service wasn't even worth one star. read more
