Once it was time for my appointment, I was taken aside to discuss service needs. Once were in session, the sound of the ocean was played. I elected to have the Swedish Massage by Denise. A warmed towel, rod and heated lavender scented pillow were all incorporated. My neck wasn't feeling the massage headrest long term. So, I moved myself onto the bed completely. Do what you gotta do. The massage was helpful for releasing some knots around my shoulders and overall circulation. I also added the under eye patch treatment. The rooms are a curtain away from each other. So, note that once back near and/or in your room that the staff communicates in hushed whispers. I wasn't quite sure when the appointment was to start and finish. I feel like I blinked and it over. I got the prenatal massage as I'm 37 weeks with an active toddler at home so I really needed some deep relaxation. She was so gentle and just had the magic touch - a skill that is not learned but is innate. It put me to sleep which is rare for me as I do not take naps. Per other Yelpers, I booked with John because I enjoy deep tissue and apparently he is great (spoiler alert: HE IS THE BEST!!). Heads up though that he is booked weeks in advance, and yes, he is worth the wait! Upon arrival you are greeted with a warm neck pillow while you fill out a simple new guest form. Standard questions like "where is your pain generally located" etc. As an avid massage receiver, I've never been asked "what music do you prefer during your massage" or "what scent would you like?" The customization they offer is top notch and I appreciated the options. Once your form has been completed, you're taken back to the immaculate locker room and provided with a robe and sandals. This robe...WOW. It was probably the most lush piece of clothing I've ever placed upon my body. I wish they sold them at the spa because I would've purchased immediately with zero buyers remorse. You are shown a locker to place your belongings in with a lock, so you don't have to worry about leaving your purse/jewelry while you enjoy your chosen service(s). There is also a restroom and shower. Once changed, you migrate to the waiting area where water and tea is provided if you'd like. Okay, now to the best part, the massage... FIVE STARS. John was extremely professional, listened to my areas of concern and the 60 minutes felt like two hours. He was very meticulous and the pressure was exactly what I wanted, firm and deep. If you like firm, book with John. I can't rave enough about him!! Overall experience exceeded my expectations and upon check out I booked another massage with John and a facial. There are several rooms as other reviews mentioned but it seems like they serve different purposes. Every time I've had a facial it's been in the same room, but the head spa happened to be in a different one. Is wired in the rooms but I like chatting with the aesthetician, and even with the language barrier we end up having great conversations! They tell me what each step is during the service and why it's important, and even ask about stressors like work or lack of sleep during every appointment to adjust the treatment as needed. Recently after my facial I complained admit my scalp and they mentioned they offer a head spa service, which I booked for the next day. My hair and scalloped have never felt so clean! I've become a regular at this point and will definitely try more of their services in the future!

Even after two verbal exchanges where I said she could go lighter on pressure, it was still pretty rough and my body was tense over 75% of the time. My masseuse's nails were also a touch long so on occasion, it felt as though I was getting scratched. I cannot speak on my boyfriend's experience as much but I do know he said he would have preferred more of a gentle massage with longer strokes to ease out the knots and kinks in his back and shoulders. I am unclear if it is the massage we picked that was the problem, but regardless, we both left feeling unsatisfied, unfortunately. I have been hesitant to even leave this review but I feel it important to share at least. I would be sure to talk to your masseuse about what exactly you're looking for -- I do believe we are at some fault for not being clear what we wanted, although there was never really a time to discuss it.

We were then taken into our perspective rooms and the beds were HUGE- definitely the biggest massage bed I've ever been in. It was also heated and the pillow was scented, a great start to my day of relaxation before the massage even started. This was my first Thai massage and I don't know if I can ever go back to a typical Swedish. From the back stepping to the stretching, I left the table feeling incredibly relaxed.
