I haven't had a massage in years, but I could tell I really needed one this week. I was looking for a place nearby that took walk-ins, did full-body massages, and (hopefully) wouldn't require this introvert to talk too much. A friend recommended Joy Foot. I walked in and asked the receptionist if they could take me as a walk-in. She said yes and asked me which massage of the ones listed (with prices) on a big sign on the front of the reception desk. I chose the $85 90-minute combo, which was a 30-minute foot massage and 60-minute full-body massage. The receptionist immediately led me to a dim room with several stations in it. I sat on the low, broad reclining table that she indicated and took off my shoes and rolled up my pant legs. Within a minute, an older gentleman came in with the water for the foot massage. I laid back, he covered my arms with a thin towel and my eyes with a washcloth. Gentle piano music was playing. I had never had a foot massage before, and now I'll be getting them regularly. It was absolutely fantastic and so relaxing. When it was complete, he removed the washcloth from my eyes, said that it was time for the full massage, and left the room. I'm hard-of-hearing, so I didn't actually hear what he said and wasn't sure what to do. I looked at one of the other masseuses and asked if I should follow him, and she nodded yes. I gathered my things and walked out into the hallway outside the room. The receptionist and my masseuse found me immediately and showed me to the private room where I'd have my full-body massage. Again, the lighting was dim, and nice piano music was playing. He left the room so I could undress and get face-down under the sheet on the massage table. After a minute, he returned, and I got a fantastic massage for 60-minutes. When it was over, he removed the washcloth from my eyes and let me know. He then left the room so o could get dressed. When I returned to the lobby, he was waiting for me with a cup of water. Everyone was very nice and spoke very little, which was PERFECT for me. Small talk is exhausting to me, and all I wanted to do was relax. I got what I wanted! I had known I wanted a massage. I hadn't realized how much I needed it. The technical skill of the masseur are much better than any you'll find at the ritz, crescent or any other $300 massage this place is amazzinnnnggg when it comes to the massage. Wow!! Glad I traveled all the way down here. I tend to stick to the las Colinas and Irving area, due to convenience, but MAN did I need this today ! A lot of reflexology places were closed and were not answering the phone...BUT ... Not only did she work my feet, she worked one of my knees and both my calves that have been causing me pain. I went to Joy Foot to see if they could work out the muscle spasm/tightness in my shoulder/neck/upper back. When I got there I could barely turn my neck. I explained my symptoms and chose the full massage. Eva worked a miracle! She knew exactly what to do and was careful to ask me questions along the way. The reviews for this place cannot be real. They have the worst customer service. They won't take your appointment correctly and the lady at the front she will cancel your appointment for no reason. I have been going here regularly for years. It was one of my favorite treats. Unfortunately my last experience was horrible and will be my last. The foot bath was room temperature. The person providing the massage I am fairly certain had no idea what they were doing - I literally walked out thinking I would have visible bruises. To add to the experience, a group of employees with nothing to do were sitting in the front room chatting the entire time and the guy giving the massage kept sniffing. I am not sure if it is under new ownership? Or if someone just thought raising the prices and lowering the quality was a good plan? read more

Well this was an interesting foot/back massage experience. For starters, I will say that I felt completely comfortable with the protocols in place due to all that's going on right now. I am a massage therapist so I'm aware of all procedures that have been set in place for COVID by the state so I was comforted by that. Now... on to the review. Ha ha!! I was greeted by an older lady that would be doing my massage. I went for the 30 minute foot massage and 30 min back massage package. The foot massage was turned into more of a massage of the calves which was equivalent to me simply putting lotion on my legs when I get out of the shower. She would move down to my feet periodically but she was lightly rubbing them as if she was afraid to use pressure. I asked for more pressure but got very little. Then back to the calves. This cycle went of for a grueling 30 minutes on both legs. I was going to end the massage at 30 minutes because this was not what I was hoping for but I decided ... what the heck. We'll see what this back massage is looking like. Well...I probably should have stuck with my initial decision. So the bed chair thingy with a hole in it (it's not a table) is pretty low to the ground. This little lady was short. So she goes to the top of the table and attempts to massage my shoulders and traps through my shirt and sports bra and I felt like she was choking me with the strokes she was administering with my shirt on. I raise up and say.... I can take this off, it's not an issue. She says ok as if she was afraid. So I undress and we proceed. Mind you, I said she was short. So now that she has more access, she moving down to my lower back and stretching her little body as far as she can. Problem is... now her crotch is LITERALLY on the top on my head and she didn't even try to correct her positioning. I jumped up so quick...noooooo ma'am. You will NOT have your hoo ha on the top of my head like that lady. Tf?!?!? So she apologized when she saw that I didn't like that. So because she couldn't reach my lower back that way, she hurriedly comes down to my side, straddles my ass, and starts this weird scrubbing motion on my back. At this point, I busted out in the most hysterical laugh. I couldn't contain myself anymore. She asked if I was ok and I said yeah, sure. I'm good. She continued. What the hell did I sign up for? And why lady?!?! WHYYYYYYYYY??? I just rode it out (or she did ) and left. As I sat in my car, I seriously it couldn't stop laughing. I couldn't even be mad because I actually needed that laugh. That was a trip. I didn't go into this expecting much, I'd just been really busy and my feet were killing me. Needless to say, they didn't feel any better when I left. I just won't go back. ‍ I gave it 2 starts for entertainment value and because the little lady was pleasant. Idk wth she was doing but yeah. Lol read more

This place. (Sighs) Y'all. This place is amazing! I have been to other foot spas, but have never experienced what I did here. We came in on a Friday night around 10:45-ish and selected the 60 min foot/back combo. They knew exactly where to rub and massage without me saying anything At all. I was asleep by the 9th or 10th minute into the foot massage lol. As for attire; I definitely have to agree with other Yelpers and suggest you wear loose clothing like t-shirts, basketball shorts, and ladies no bra or a very loose one. I had on a sports bra and even it was in the way of the magic the lady was trying to work on me. I think this place is well worth the price. The person that gave me my massage was an older gentleman. The first thing I noticed was his hands smelled strongly of cigarettes. I tried to ignore that and just laid back ready to enjoy my massage. Unfortunately, it got worse from there. If you like a bone crushing massage, he's your guy. Not only was the massage painful, but I left smelling like cigarettes. They are on the firmer Side for those that might like the lighter touch (like my husband) but I thought it was fine since I like deep tissue firm pressure. Customer service is poor. Let me lead with that. Why 4/5 stars? The massage itself was solid - both relaxing and therapeutic. It's nothing fancy, but it gets the job done. I signed up for Plan B - which is 70 minutes total with both foot and body massages. The total cost was $40 + tip. The space is both communal and or private. Don't be surprised if you have to shed a few layers of clothing. It's a solid spot for a good-value, chill massage though. read more

I've been to Joy Foot multiple times over the past few years, but my most recent visit will be my last. The experience is not what it was. The water for soaking my feet was lukewarm, at best. One employee lounged on one of the chairs watching something WITH AUDIO on his cell phone...very distracting when clients are trying to relax. Also - heads up for those who have been before...they changed the menu of options and pricing. The $30 foot special (which also included back and legs) is now $40 for 30 minute foot + 30 minute back....neither segment was as great as in the past. read more

I've had lots of full body table massages so I wasn't too sure what to except from Foot Joy. It was wonderful! More than just an hour of someone rubbing your feet; starts with head neck, shoulders, arms, and hands. Then feet and lower legs. Quick flip over for back massage. All while fully clothed. Rooms are clean, quiet, cool, and semi private with just 3 chairs in each area. I'd recommend wearing loose clothing and be prepared to leave with you hair messy (scalp massage, heaven). For the price, I'll be giving upy regular massage and hitting up this place twice a month. read more

My first experience at Joy Foot was okay. I went here with my girlfriend and chose the 60 minute $30 special. The masseuse who was massaging me did a good job and made me feel relaxed at the beginning, but the massage became a little aggressive as it progressed, to a point where it was almost unenjoyable. My girlfriend said felt similarly with her masseur. Here are the things I feel went right and wrong: Pros: - Massage hit on common areas of the body with pain / soreness. - Calm and quiet atmosphere - Attentive massage therapists - Good prices. Cons: - Massage area had a foul smell. Likely due to water continually getting on carpet after people soak their feet. - Very loud air conditioner. Made extremely loud noises when it came on, startling me and others there. Also, beware of an uppity guy at the front desk. He ruined our experience by insisting on a 20% tip for the service. First of all, nobody is required to tip in the first place, and his hostile attitude makes for a bad conclusion to an otherwise positive experience. read more

I'm a regular client at a local school of massage. I dropped in here for the 1 hour. The form of massage is called Shiatsu. My usual place was booked up and I saw that this place had good reviews. Pros: - Deep tissue massage - Completely removed the kinks out of my back - BONUS: Warm towels Cons: - Communication: I had to communicate what I needed the MT to focus on. She also didn't ask for my name, but she paid attention to my feedback - Cleanliness: You can tell they don't change out the bedsheets after each person. They put thin coverings over the bed and face area that aren't wide enough at all. If you're a germophobe, this will gross you out! - Bedside manner: Needs improvement; I felt slightly uncomfortable at the beginning - Pricing: It went up from the previous posts and the current price list doesn't make sense - Noise: Could hear workers coughing/talking Overall, this place is great for deep tissue. 3 stars due to the cons. We've been twice now and the staff there has been nothing but great! We've frequented many a foot spas, and hands down, this is #1 on our list here for the Dallas area. And the best part is, it's literally 5 minutes from the house!!! If you're sore, go. If you want to feel pampered, go. If you are achy, go! $30 foot/body massage or $50 full body for a whole hour, both have been phenomenal! Our favorite people there are Jenny, Harry and Jason. Try them out!
