I was looking for…read morea place nearby that took walk-ins, did full-body massages, and (hopefully) wouldn't require this introvert to talk too much. A friend recommended Joy Foot. I walked in and asked the receptionist if they could take me as a walk-in. She said yes and asked me which massage of the ones listed (with prices) on a big sign on the front of the reception desk. I chose the $85 90-minute combo, which was a 30-minute foot massage and 60-minute full-body massage. The receptionist immediately led me to a dim room with several stations in it. I sat on the low, broad reclining table that she indicated and took off my shoes and rolled up my pant legs. Within a minute, an older gentleman came in with the water for the foot massage. I laid back, he covered my arms with a thin towel and my eyes with a washcloth. Gentle piano music was playing. I had never had a foot massage before, and now I'll be getting them regularly. It was absolutely fantastic and so relaxing. When it was complete, he removed the washcloth from my eyes, said that it was time for the full massage, and left the room. I'm hard-of-hearing, so I didn't actually hear what he said and wasn't sure what to do. I looked at one of the other masseuses and asked if I should follow him, and she nodded yes. I gathered my things and walked out into the hallway outside the room. The receptionist and my masseuse found me immediately and showed me to the private room where I'd have my full-body massage. Again, the lighting was dim, and nice piano music was playing. He left the room so I could undress and get face-down under the sheet on the massage table. After a minute, he returned, and I got a fantastic massage for 60-minutes. When it was over, he removed the washcloth from my eyes and let me know. He then left the room so o could get dressed. When I returned to the lobby, he was waiting for me with a cup of water. Everyone was very nice and spoke very little, which was PERFECT for me. Small talk is exhausting to me, and all I wanted to do was relax. I got what I wanted! I had known I wanted a massage. I hadn't realized how much I needed it. I walked out of Joy Foot with all my aches, pains, and tensions relieved. I'm a fan, and will definitely be returning regularly.

Im from New York and visiting family in Dallas…read more Back home I am a loyal patron of a Chinese reflexology massage spa that practices traditional Tui Na. However, the knots in my back were absolutely killing me and I HAD to get them worked on before they got worse and caused me mobility issues. I searched for massage places in my vicinity and Healthy Thai popped up. Reviews looked promising so I called and they were able to accommodate me immediately. Tui Na is quite intense so I opted for the 90 minute deep tissue massage here which I figured would be comparable to the body work I am used to. The massage started off with my therapist (Pam) applying full body pressure on my legs, back and hips. She then diligently worked on every part of the body to relieve all the pressure points with her elbows and fingers. I asked for high pressure and she definitely delivered. I particularly enjoyed the head massage and the part where I was made to flip around and had my neck and shoulder worked on. As with all thai massages they stretch your body out and I like that this was towards the end sort of like a final litmus test to see how well your body is flowing. Very reminiscent of the many amazing massages I got while traveling through Bangkok and Koh Samui many years ago. I was sore a day or two afterwards which is pretty normal when tough knots are worked on, but I am so relieved that I can move my arms around much easier and the pain is gone. In addition to the actual massage I found the facility clean, soothing and the staff was very professional. I loved the faint smell of tiger balm in the sheets and the beds you are massaged on are heated which is actually quite a nice touch. The only thing I would improve is the pillow situation, at times it became uncomfortable to have my head switched to the side, perhaps they can make you lay face down in to a donut pillow or something that mimics a massage table. Other than that, I highly recommend this wonderful place. If you are in pain and need relief, look no further than a few sessions here and I am sure you will feel brand new in no time!!
