This was a dark room in the back of a strip mall suite that felt more like an office break room mixed with someone's living room. I have never had a pedicure where i sat on an old couch and put my feet in a bowl (except when my 8 yr old daughter does them) I was chastised for not using all organic lotion etc, Lisa used old nail polish (of which there were few to choose from)and filed nails too short and crooked, she then painted on the skin around my nails and didn't remove it. As other reviews have mentioned, she was very aggressive with me, rude and then asked for a tip, which was beyond uncomfortable. I feel that I'm very open minded to many things and honestly attempt to give people the benefit of the doubt but this experience was was not what I expected at all. I've been to other homeopathic clinics and had colonic hydrotherapy done which were very efficient. This was my first time going to this "spa" and I was disappointed. My appointment was scheduled for 2:00pm and both Lisa and I were running behind and rescheduled for 3:00pm. I arrived at 3 and still had to wait. There are so many things that I could say about this visit from her being upset that someone had ridden with me there (didn't know that would be a problem), having to take my shoes off at the door and leave my cell phone at the desk, or how my session didn't start until 5pm. After my session was completed, I washed my hands. I was scolded for using 3 squares of paper towels instead of one. She literally removed the paper towel from hands although it was already wet. When I got ready to pay, I addressed that the price she quoted was different than that listed online. She said that she wouldn't honor that price because the website was old, it takes time to update, and she's no web designer so prices are subject to change. Then she asked me to leave a gratuity. I would have left after the first 30 minutes but her policy says that there are no refunds for any reason, and she already had my card info when I made my appointment. I felt her tone was aggressive at times and it was just an overall exhausting experience. I gave 2 stars instead of one because I believe she does attempt to relay a message of trying different ways to improve overall health, but she should be less aggressive, more efficient, and honor the price posted. read more

Anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE a good massage and pampering. I came here as a surprise gift from my boyfriend on Valentine's Day. The massage, I received from Lisa was heavenly. I have had many massages in my lifetime, and never has someone put me to sleep! I was in a state of pure relaxation. Lisa is extremely knowledgeable and very passionate about what she does. I received a colonic and she was detailed and really prepared me for the process. I honestly almost walked out before of the procedure, because of how uncomfortable she made me with her aggressive behavior. Expect to be there for a few hours for this procedure for your first time. She spent over an hour basically telling me my "lifestyle" will make me sick and how much damage I am doing. Be prepared for her to push her vegan raw lifestyle onto you and she gets very irritated when you don't agree or praise her for her knowledge. Anyway, I called to schedule an appointment with Lisa for a Colonics and the Infrared Heat Therapy and was able to get in fairly quick. After filling out a questionnaire Lisa took the time to see if I had an questions or concerns and explain the benefits of colon hydrotherapy plus ways to maximize the effect by eating certain foods. Ugh, I should have checked the reviews before coming in. I went in for a brazilian sugaring service. The service started 25min late. Lisa said the sugar was a "winter sugar" & would see "if it worked" since the lid of the container it had been on was slightly open therefore making the sugar questionable. This lady took 50min.. even when I asked her to leave a landing strip because I did not feel comfortable her doing the whole area. At my usual waxing place they take maximum 25, full brazilian!! She fussed that I moved so much and kept saying it that the wax would melt too fast since I wouldn't keep still. I've had many compliments from waxing specialists that I am very still, therefore making my brazilians fast for me. That was obviously her problem with not keeping up with her inventory. She used a defective material, does NOT have the right technique, and is very unprofessional. She answered calls and would check her phone during my session. Also I'm having terrible ingrowns, and I rarely do after my usual waxing sessions. This is my second most horrible experience ever at a spa. Make yourself a favor, avoid this place. read more

My experience with this Spa has been entirely by email. I am so glad I never actually visited the facility. My communications from Lisa were rude and unprofessional. My daughter bought one of their marketing vouchers and gave it to me as a gift. I am a cancer survivor as well as being partially deaf due to a brain tumor. My daughter understands how important it is to keep up my self-esteem. My sister is coming to town, so my husband called to see if an exception could be made to allow us to each use one of vouchers, I clearly understood it to be an exception, and had no problem if this request could not be fulfilled. What I was unprepared for was Lisa's email message. She was extremely condescending and told me that the Spa received no money from this marketing campaign. She asked specific questions to which I immediately replied. I received another email even nastier in tone. When I told her I would not be using her services and posting a poor Review, she told me I am "negative and ungodly." So, no, I would not recommend this business to anyone. I would be glad to post the emails if requested. Also, if you read other Reviews on this site, you will see a trend. I have asked that Lisa not contact me any further, but she continues to do so, Please never give this woman your personal information. I went to Lisa at Love Thyself Spa for colon therapy, which I had never had before. Like most people who are first timers to colon cleansing, I was apprehensive for sure. I had been researching colon cleansing for several years but just didn't have the guts to do it. Upon the recommendation of a nutritionist friend, I set up my first appointment with Lisa. I chose to do colon therapy for the first time during a long juice cleanse. I've done a number of juice cleanses in the past 8 years and I can honestly say that the colon therapy provided more mental clarity and sense of calm than I have ever experienced. I wasn't expecting that at all. I thought maybe I would have some positive physical feelings but more than anything, it was the mental calm that wowed me. As a small business owner, having some calm is just about the best gift a girl can get! Before my appointment, Lisa sent me a very detailed email about how to prepare and how to approach the appointment (even down to the way I should ring the doorbell). She sat me down and we talked a lot about diet, lifestyle, stress, etc and then she talked me through exactly how the procedure would go. Although it is definitely a very private and can be uncomfortable position you are in (pun intended), Lisa actually made me feel very comfortable and calm. The session itself was quiet and Lisa and I chatted about food, nutrition and the science behind colon therapy. I will say that she might be a little OCD. I'm kind of ok with that in a colon therapist, though! She's very specific but it truly seems like she cares about what is going on with you when you are in a session. I've been back several times now and have continued to have the great results of mental clarity/calm. Lisa is a very unique person (and perhaps rubs people the wrong way based on some of the other reviews I read) but it seems like she really wants good things for her clients (at least based on my experience). I enjoyed my visit to Love Thyself Day Spa! I received the infared, body scrub and full-body massage services. My experience in the infared machine was nice; not only was it detoxifying, but it also included high-tech features like the ability to listen to music (which is what I opted for) or the ability to watch Hulu. Since I'm short (5'0), I could also get some stretching done while inside. :) Afterward, I received a full-body scrub by Ms. Lisa, which was perfect after that deep sweat. The scrub felt amazing and left my skin baby-soft. The scrub reminded me of my experiences at Korean Spas, however the key difference was the Vichy shower, which I loved. Finally, I received a full-body massage from Mr. Andrew, who is very thorough and attentive to detail. I participate in pole fitness so I carry a lot of tension in my back and shoulders and Andrew took that into consideration when performing the service. It was wonderful! Worst experience I've ever had. My husband and I were terribly disappointed with the couples massage and the degree of professionalism we were treated with. We left 20 minutes into our massage because she was hurting and arguing with me shaking my arm telling me to "just let go", then she proceeded to argue with my husband for at least 20 minutes on how it was her "obligation to educate us"; my husband has his Masters in Applied Engineering and a certified personal trainer, he didn't pay for hurt education, but to have an enjoyable, relaxing massage. This went on for five (5) days. I checked the website to see if I had missed something and there was a way to schedule online, but there was not. Fortunately, I only live a few miles away, so I drove by on my way to lunch on Tuesday Feb. 26th. When I arrived the doors were locked and the curtains were drawn, with no sign on the windows. I went back and sent her an email that day at 1:00 pm and finally got a response that night. She told me that they were closed on Mondays and sorry that I drove up there for nothing. HELLO, I drove on Tuesday. And that occasionally there voice mail will get full, I'm sorry but it was full full for 6 days. Thank goodness that GroupOn gives refunds! read more

Lisa was friendly and the massage was the strongest deep tissue I've ever had. She did her best to make me feel comfortable. However, the place seemed to be in a bit of dissaray. I was using a Groupon and my appointment was for 3:00 pm. She called and told me she was running late and to come in more around 3:30 which was fine. I arrived and filled out some paper work and waited for over 30 minutes. When she was ready she had me present the Groupon and then pay her gratuity up front. This, I thought, was extremely unprofessional. Not only that, the full price of the massage was quoted at $185 and she asked for a $40 tip. Crazy... Next, she brought me into another room where I waited another 20 minutes. I didn't lay down to receive my massage until 50 minutes after I arrived. The message was supposed to be 90 minutes and lasted 75. The women in the next room went in before me with the same groupon and was still in when I finished. Anyway, all I wanted to know was the price, and I got everything except for that. She diverted my question everyone I asked which was extremely frustrating. I became impatient, and she became increasingly more unprofessional in her approach with me as she refused to give me pricing. Finally, fed up with the run around, I decided to hang up as I wasn't getting anywhere with her. She proceeded to then called back and left a 3 minute message on my phone which was not only extremely offensive and disrespectful, but the lack of professionalism on her part is what floored me. No wonder they have trouble getting business. I refuse to ever set foot in that place, and after reading other reviews this all makes a lot more sense. TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL!!!! I purchased a gift voucher through one of the group coupon deals. (Which I have purchased in the past for different merchants and NEVER had a problem with) I tried unsuccessfully to schedule an appt. 3 seperate times. It should NOT in anyway shape or form be that difficult to schedule an appt. for a package that I have already paid for. I experienced nothing but RUDENESS from the very first time I called. 1st phone call - I was told by Lisa that since she had sold so many packages from a previous special she had run she could not book my appt until after September 1, 2011. I told her the voucher I bought online clearly stated that I could use it starting 7/23/2011. Didn't matter she REFUSED to make an appt. for me and told me to call back next week. 2nd phone call - I waited about a week to make another phone call to schedule an appt. (as I had been instructed to do by Lisa). I reached a voice mail and left a message stating that I was calling to schedule an appt and left my phone number. I did receive a phone call back from Lisa. Once she learned that I was using a voucher that was pre-purchased online she became VERY RUDE. She spent TWENTY MINUTES explaining to me why she could not schedule my appt today. She said she had other important phone calls to make and could not schedule an appt for me today. When I pointed out that we were already on the phone and could she just give some possible dates that I could book an appt. she accused me of trying to "cut in line, in front of her other customers"( ??????WHAT????) After 20 minutes she then told me to call back the next day and hung up on me. 3rd phone call - called and left message. She called me back and FINALLY gave me a date and time for an appt. Which I quickly agreed to because I had already pre-paid for the spa services. However, she went on to inform me that that date and time might change because "you know, things come up" ( ????HUHH????) But by this time she had me whipped and I just said okay. Then she went on to tell me that when I arrived at the Love Thyself Day Spa I would be required to PRE-PAY a 20% gratuity on the full price of the package not the discount price. Gratuity on full price was okay with me but PREPAID GRATUITY....I don't think so!!!! She then explained to me that if I did not PRE-PAY the gratuity I would not be able to receive the services that I had ALREADY PAID FOR. She kept me on the phone for 35 minutes explaining how she just had to do things this way because she had had problems collecting gratuity in the past. (Well, I was not surprised to hear that!! ) Be warned about Love Thyself Day Spa!! I went to Lisa for colonics from a recommendation from my nutritionist because I was having some "digestive issues". The first time I went, it took about three hours. Mainly because Lisa wanted make sure that I was comfortable and really understood the process. (which I appreciated, cause it can be awkward). After that, we decided to do a series of treatments to help correct the issues I was having. Each time, Lisa made sure that everything was extremely clean and that I was comfortable. After about three treatments, I started noticing changes in my bathroom times, (didn't think you'd want to know the details!! lol) After the 6 treatments, I'm regular, and things move through without any problems! When I told her to stop texting me, she said, "You didn't have to respond now, did you..." CREEEEEPY. After reading the other reviews that this business thinks nobody should see.. I now know it's Lisa, the owner, who answered the phone. Her angry, aggressive attitude is apparently what she thinks is 'good' customer service. Surprised she's even in business. I purchased a Groupon for a series of 3 Colon Hydrotherapy treatments. I have finished all 3. Lisa is very personable, knowledgeable and professional. Good hygiene and proper sanitizing is a TOP PRIORITY for her and the business. This is a Must for this type of service. Lisa will go the extra mile with you on educating with nutrition and healthy eating information - at no additional cost. She will even go grocery shopping with you if requested. It is important to her that you feel comfortable while receiving your treatments. All three treatments were comfortable and a pleasant experience which probably isn't something you'd normally hear connected to this type of treatment. Being in the Holistic Health Care field myself, I do realize the importance and benefits of this type of service for promoting over all well being and good health as well as healing current digestion & elimination dysfunctions. Don't be thrown off or put out with any initial appointment scheduling & general business practices as it is the quality of the treatments and services that are important. The place is decorated nicely and feels good when you walk in. It is well kept, clean and has the ambiance a day spa should have. She is a total professional, and my experience with her has been exceptional every time. If you're interested in completely changing how you eat, see food and manage your food choices topping it off with a good washing of your insides (a colonic)...Lisa can guide you to your expectations. I met with Lisa over a week ago and was re-educated on my eating habits and what Lisa referred to as "making small changes" that can have a big effect on your body.
