Unfortunately, I just received a strange call today informing me that they had decided to cancel my membership. Because I can no longer lay down on my back due to a medical condition, I lied down on each of my sides to receive a back massage. Apparently, the masseuse could not keep the blanket over me the whole time which, according to their policy, constitutes indecent exposure. That was the reason they gave me to explain their decision to cancel my membership. The least they could have done is initiate a conversation with me to inform me of their policy first and try to find an arrangement to accommodate me! This is terrible customer service! I will not recommend this place to anyone!

I picked this place based on reviews, and being able to get in the same day. I sent a message on Yelp, and then set up my appointment via text. I showed up for my appointment and completed a one-page check in sheet about pains, etc. Then I was in my room, undressed, under the sheet in no time. I picked the Tai/Combo massage (from the website: techniques from Thai, Swedish, deep tissue and other styles). I was in heaven. The woman doing the massage rubbed on me, and was up on the table with me a couple of times to stretch and move my body around. It was all wonderful. My hour was up and I felt like jelly. At checkout, they gave me a bottle of water and that was nice. I am all for self-care these days, and this was a good way to spend $70 for an hour of Zen.

I want to preface this with I AM a Massage therapist and have been for a decade. As such I was so…read moreexcited to book a Traditional Thai Massage (one of the modalities I'm trained in). With that said, not only did I NOT receive a thai massage, they had me undress (which you don't do in thai massage) and what followed was the worst massage of my life. I booked a traditional thai massage, confirmed when I got to the desk, and then restated that's what I wanted when they found me fully clothed waiting. They told me THEIR thai massage had oil and I was to remove my clothes but keep my underwear on. I told them I just wanted a traditional Thai Massage. (Which shouldn't be in their business name and on their menu if that's not what they do?) I 1,000% know it is illegal to uncover someone's glutes fully, but that didn't stop my therapist from pulling not only the blanket down to my thighs, but also pulling my underwear (a thong which already exposed the sides of my glutes) down to my thighs, fully exposing my entire butt. Let me be clear, this is absolutely illegal and unprofessional, there is a law specifically stating you cannot do this. EVER. - not to mention I am a female and my therapist was a male. It was clear this therapist wasn't trained in hot stones (something else I'm trained in), and the massage itself was abysmal. If they were in massage school and this was their final, they would not pass. And they shouldn't have. Afterwards I again asked the front desk about ACTUAL Thai Massage and if they dont have thai massage where else does - they said that there's one woman on staff who provides it (who obviously wasn't available when I came in). I don't know why she didn't just tell me this to begin with instead of take my money and my peace of mind. I left here a thoroughly unsatisfied customer. If the (NOT Thai) Massage had been good, I wouldn't have been so upset over her deception. But to lie to me, and then get something so sub par? I would NEVER do this to a client. I'd give 0/5 stars if I could. And truly unless you know a therapist at this business that's actually good, I wouldn't recommend anyone go. I even came on yelp to read the reviews and thought it'd be a good choice. Nope.

Upon entering, I was warmly greeted by the calming aromatic scents, the clean and inviting ambiance, and the sweet receptionist, Misha. Misha was polite, friendly, and very informative, which made for a great first impression. In the treatment room, I was given clear instructions on how everything would work. I started with the Hydro-Vichy shower--such an interesting and unique experience! It's a warm shower with at least five shower heads providing firm pressure over your entire body (except your face). The treatment began with a full-body cleanse, followed by a gentle exfoliation, and ended with a refreshing rinse. Afterward, I received a massage from Lynn, and wow, she truly worked magic! Her medium pressure was perfect, and she was attentive, thorough, and incredibly kind throughout the session. Definitely recommend her--10/10! Overall, it was a very pleasant and relaxing experience. I'll definitely be back. Thank you, Massage Felax & Spa, for such an enjoyable visit!

Oh my GOD. The crazy continues! When I replied to their comment on the Living Social site saying…read morethat my issues were with business practices (because I don't care how fat I am, you can't blame the therapist's lateness on it!), they replied with the most unprofessional and untrue accusations! You see, they're massage therapists, not counselors so when I confessed that I was miserable about my weight and unhappy because I can't find a boyfriend... well, that's just not in their expertise to handle and you know sometimes massage therapy can stir things up... Except that I never EVER said anything of the kind! Patently untrue on all counts but just because I dared say that the emperor is naked then suddenly I'm some stereotypical sad-sack fattie who just can't get a man (because you know that's all there is to life, right?). And this is after guessing my weight by sight - incorrectly by over 200lbs, mind you - and diagnosing health issues based on body size. I cannot even wrap my brain around this. They accused me of anger issues. Well, if that's the case then they won't be surprised when I go She-Hulk on the next crazy-ass reply. Do yourself a favor - RUN far far away from this business. It's a Tar Baby of Crazy; the more you fight it, the more stuck you get. You think it can't be that bad but DON'T. Just don't. EDIT: For irrefutable evidence of the Epic Level of Batshit Crazy, look no further than their reply to this review. Quite a witty rejoinder. Middle school mean girl argument tactics... yeah, that's professional. What's left? "I know you are but what am I?" SERIOUSLY. Unreal.

I called the number for the Pamper Zone from my cell phone. When the organization picked up the call there was dead sound. In other words, I heard nothing. I hung up the phone but before being able to call back an issue came up that I had to tend to. While I am tending to that issue, my cell phone rings. I see that it is the number for the Pamper Zone and I pick up the phone. An irate person on the other line says "Did you just call here?" I said, " Yes, I did but there was not any sound so I decided to call back later." The person said, "Yes, I was there saying Hello, hello, but you never said anything." I said, "Well, I'm sorry, I didn't hear anything but I assume that we just had a bad connection." The person said (again with much attitude), "Well, ma'am, I can only tell you what I know happened. Did you need something?" At this point, considering the company's method of interacting with customers and assuming that it is in my best interest NOT to use this facility, I reply, "Um, actually, no. Thank you." And I hung up. Shortly thereafter, I received another phone call from the Pamper Zone, and I allowed the call to go to voicemail. The voicemail that was left said "Ma'am, I would appreciate it if you don't call here anymore harassing us. This is a business and I will report you to the police department!" Since I am now thinking that this is complete insanity and surely just a rogue employee, I thought that if it was my business, I would want to know. So, I called back a few hours later, did not get anyone but left a voicemail message descibing the scenario and advising the owner or manager to look into it because they are likely losing other customers due to this woman. About an hour later, I received a long rambling voicemail from someone purporting to be the owner. I have transcribed it for your pleasure and edification. "I am the owner of this establishment. My name is Michelle Laker(sp). And I just got your message and I am sorry about what happened but it would probably be better if you did get a refund for your money or give those y'know coupons to someone else because from the voicemail that I heard and also from the conversation that was recorded. Um...we listened to both the incoming conversation that you made and we listed to our receptionist conversation as well, we have just delineated that it would probably be better if you did get a refund. And we apologize if we have done anything to offend youbut from what we've heard it was a mutual set of abuses. And so the customer's always right y'know but we don't like our employees abused either. We just really would...we will talk to Living Social about this matter and we haven't had any other complaints because y'know we have been in business for 8 years. So, we strive to make the client very comfortable - we're called the papmper zone - and we want to make sure we do pamper you. We realize that people have so many stresses with everyday living and we don't want to cause other stresses. So, it is just much to our chagrin that it has come to this but sometimes everyone cannot be pleased and we wish you luck and may God bless you." You have been warned.

So again my husband and I walk in together and we are waiting for about 2 minutes before this women comes out from the back and asks us what we needed and I said I would like to book for two 1 hour massage she says " oh " then goes back in the back and comes back out and says " later later " I said you can't do it now ? She proceeds to grab her phone ( me thinking she needs to translate something to me ) at this point she has not said if she could fit us in at that time she is just looking down at her phone and keeps looking up at us and mean mugging. Then a few minutes later a guy walks in and says " can I get a massage " the woman ignores us and takes to the guy back in the room even tho we were first . We stayed for a couple more minutes and she never came out again. This place made us feel so uncomfortable and unwelcomed . We left again

This was a recommendation so I really wanted to give Honeybee Massage & Wellness a good reiview,…read morebut unfortunately, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. My first concern was when I called to schedule my Groupon appointment. The phone was not answered professionally. When I asked who I was speaking with, the response was, "Well, who are you trying to call?" This immediately made me question whether I wanted to keep the appointment. She later apologized and explained that someone had been "playing on her phone," which I appreciated. During that conversation, I was told a code would be sent for building access. It was never sent, and I had to follow up multiple times. I didn't receive the code until mid-morning Saturday, the day of our appointment. We arrived at 3:00 p.m. for our couples massage, but no one was there. We stood in the hallway waiting for her and her partner to arrive. Once inside, we were asked to sit on the sofa while the room was prepared. We were not offered water, a mimosa, or any refreshment. When shown to the massage room, we were instructed to undress and get on the tables. No robes were offered. Before the massage, I explained that I work at a desk and sit most of the day, so I specifically wanted my back and shoulders addressed. I also explained that my partner is a truck driver and that I was concerned about the tension in his back. Although we booked Swedish massage, we communicated that we wanted most of the time focused on our backs. I even offered to pay the additional $25 per person for deep tissue. Unfortunately, during my massage, the therapist could clearly feel the knots and tension in my back but essentially passed over them rather than working them out. I left feeling that the areas I specifically identified were not adequately addressed. My partner was happy with his massage, although it was his first and he had no basis for comparison. His only concern was the therapist's breath when speaking closely to him, which should be considered when working in such close proximity to clients. We did tip well because we appreciate people's time and effort. However, overall, I felt my money could have been better spent. I would have rather paid a little more for the polished experience I expected, which I now intend to visit the other therapist recommended at the Omni to address the tension that wasn't relieved. I'm sharing this review in hopes the owner will take the feedback constructively. Clients are paying for an experience--not just a massage. Professional communication, preparation, hospitality, cleanliness, comfort, and attention to detail all matter. Unfortunately, I would not return to or recommend Honeybee Massage & Wellness. I sincerely hope they use this feedback as an opportunity to improve and "up their game.
