Great place for everyone of all ages! So many different projects to choose from. Great for groups, birthday parties or a night out to do something artsy. There's a cafe in the studio where you can order coffees and sandwiches. I didn't order anything because I had already eaten but the food looked and smelled so good. It's very cozy with ample space. The only downfall is it is on Main St so parking is limited during peak hours. I can't wait to return!

LOVE this place! A combination of a paint your own, craft your own pottery studio and bakery/cafe and gift shop all in one! The staff - amazing. All so pleasant. The food: they make their own breads. the cheddar scallion scone, chocolate chip cookie, and rice krispy treats are our favorite items. We really enjoy the coffees too. Was to get to location. They also sponsor the outdoor seasonal markets which we absolutely love to go to!

I have been a few times and will definitely come back! I love the cafe and the options of pottery to paint. The employees are always very helpful and kind. It can get busy on the weekends, so if you're planning on painting pottery I would recommend making a reservation. Both their matchas and lattes are great, and their seasonal menu is always creative and fun to try!

My new FAVORITE place, man thank goodness their sister store claypen in west Hartford was booked because experiencing this store is a game changer. Looking for a fun date night? Catching up with friends? Have a friend that's not artistic? They can still enjoy the cafe while you paint. I love it here, delicious food, delicious monthly drinks, friendly staff, I will be back again and again!!

Okay, I really love this place. I have not painted anything yet, but the food and coffee here is bussing. I have to come here often because you guys are one of the best parts of this town.

Took a Try It Wheel throwing class with a friend. Very cool and enjoyable experience, go in with no expectations! I feel the instructor could have been a little more attentive to each individual but, still felt supported when I requested assistance.

Did you know you can paint canvases at Firestone and not just ceramics?! It's my new favorite fact! I've absolutely loved the Claypen West Hartford location as it is more convenient - but Manchester is SO worth it for this experience. We were helped by Zach, who is always so kind, explains things well, and goes out of his way to guarantee a fun time for everyone. We spent a rainy Saturday painting and sipping on tea. I highly recommend this spot for everyone who wants a calm environment to paint and chat with friends!

Counter service coffee shop with a wide variety of drinks & a small menu of food inside of a paint-your-own pottery place The food and drinks are nothing special, but is a very unique concept I got a vanilla latte and their granola parfait and they were both ok Everything was made very quickly however 7

Cauliflower Sandwich

This place is a lot of fun everytime I have been here! The food is also very tasty and they serve Giv coffee. Do not sleep on the cauliflower sandwich it is so goooooood!!

Hands down one of the best coffee shops I've been to! We stopped in before heading to a nearby park. I grabbed the special, an almond joy iced latte, and it was delicious - flavorful and not too sweet! Also, we grabbed a snickerdoodle cookie, which was amazing. Service was pleasant and friendly. The shop itself is very inviting, and I would love to go back to explore the art studio side.

Ice Iced Matcha Latte with a little simple syrup (brought my own reusable straw!)

They closed the place to the public for the two hours we were there which was great for friends to visit with each other. We were able to bring in drinks and snacks for our party. There is an accessible bathroom on-site. The basic pottery pieces cost around $30 each.

This place was nice! We went for a group outing of seven people. When I called earlier in the week,…read morethe guy said we didn't need a reservation and could just walk in for Saturday. We all planned to meet there at 5 PM, but when we arrived, they told us we actually needed a reservation and had to come back at 6:45. Thankfully, West Hartford has plenty to do, so we walked around, grabbed some food, and returned for our reservation. One thing to know is that you pick the pottery you want to paint it's not a place where you make the pottery yourself. That has pros and cons, depending on your preferences. I'm honestly not that artistic when it comes to freehand painting, so I picked a simple snowflake design (probably the cheapest option at around $14). My friends picked reindeer, cookie trays, and other fun items. Painting was fun, but you have to leave your piece for 2-3 weeks to be glazed, so don't expect to take it home the same day. The space is small, but I liked the intimate setting. The staff was also very nice, and overall, I had a good experience. I would definitely go back.

People will always considering moving over to allow you to sit. Outlets for powered devices are plenty so you can always work at your leisure while enjoying your coffee or pastry. Then on top of that, I ordered a drink far from my norm. All that, and I was still blown away! Upon entering, I loved the open environment and how it still managed to feel cozy, comforting and warm. It was relatively busy, though more steady business than anything too crazy. Everyone seemed super passionate, intentional, and focused in everything they did, while still being friendly and creating a welcoming environment. That's impressive and rare. Now for my order. I knew that I needed to try one of their baked goods, as I always monitor their weekly rotating menus. So, I went with their gluten free & vegan mocha cake with espresso glaze. Then for my coffee. I am normally an iced latte in the largest size possible kind of girl. And I'm hesitant/picky with mocha/chocolate coffee. However, as part of their 10 year anniversary festivities, they were offering a chocolate birthday cake latte, composed specifically and intentionally as a 12 ounce hot latte. I wasn't exactly setting them up for success by ordering this! But, I just knew it would be special, and oh my goodness was it! Special doesn't even feel strong enough a word. The flavor was so deep and developed. It was rich and indulgent tasting, but drank light. It was a marvel. I got strong notes of both cake and chocolate, and I don't typically think flavors pop as easily in hot drinks versus iced ones. I could not believe how good this drink was. The latte art aspect was incredible of course as well. It was so clear how talented this team is. The mocha cake was also exceptional. Super moist while still having a pleasant crumb. Great chocolate flavor, neither too dark nor light. Not super sweet. Great espresso glaze. It was one of the best chocolate cakes I've ever had. For pastry and baked goods, though, I do love the combo of chocolate and coffee. I absolutely cannot wait to return to Silk City Coffee. I am kicking myself for not getting here sooner. I have only heard amazing things about the people behind it as well. This is a must try spot, especially if you're a CT coffee lover. Don't be afraid to trust them either! I'm so glad I did! Easy 10/10.
