Our fabulous server was Amanda, and she was friendly and efficient. They were able to make the onion straws, and fried pickles gluten free for us. We also ordered the Cajun Popcorn, with red pepper remoulade, which was amazing. We ordered wings with pita sauce, which is all of the sauces combined, and they were delicious. Another one of us ordered the BBQ rib platter, which was very good. The blackened catfish dinner was also a big hit. The food here is unique, well prepared, fairly priced, and delicious. We will definitely be back .

The steak was medium and juicy. However, I presume based on my experience if you don't order it blackened. You'll need to add your own seasonings. Because there was absolutely no none not even salt or pepper. The Broccoli was almost mushy. Again, this isn't my first experience with them in fact I go there all the time just wanted to try something new. If I order the steak next time it'll be blackened with broccoli al dente.

The side of yams was alittle off, I can't put my finger on it. The seasoning and flavor was good but I think the texture was off for me. I think I like a bit more bite to my yams. The Mac and cheese was great on both plates! Our service could have been better but our server seemed overwhelmed so I understand. She was still very nice. The restaurant is downtown, and we parked right in front. Found it strange that we could only order to go and there wasn't a dine in option on a Saturday. We still ordered and ate in the car. We had fried haddock, sweet potatoes, and collard greens, along with a slice of Hennessey pound cake. The food was hot. Had good flavor but wasn't a fan of the breading on the fish and the cake was very dense. The gentleman that took our order was very nice and the chef was also friendly. All in all the food was OK. The Ambiance wasn't there.

I ordered the…read morepancake breakfast with the pancakes prepared well done, cheese eggs, bacon and a side of cheesy grits. My hubby had the catfish and shrimp dinner with greens, coleslaw, mac and cheese with cornbread. Breakfast: Pro's- my pancakes were cooked perfectly. Well done, crispy edges, fluffy and soft inside. Some of the BEST pancakes I've had in a very long time. Eggs were good and I really enjoyed the thick cut bacon. The consistency of the grits were the perfect texture and required NO extra salt. Con's- I asked for more strawberries and was denied. They said it was just a garnish. I would've paid extra if need be, so I was taken a back by the response. The fruit complimented the cakes like jelly does with peanut butter. You can have it alone, but together it's even better. Another con was they charge extra for cheese in the grits and in the eggs. The charge has become customary so thats no big deal, I just hate when you're not told it'll be an extra charge and get a surprise when you're settling the bill. Lunch: Pro's- Shrimp and coleslaw were very tasty. Con's-My husband was disappointed with the fish. He stated it lacked flavor despite it looking well seasoned on the outside. I guess it didnt soak into the actual fish. The greens were ok and he didnt care for the mac and cheese. Overall, good. However, just an ok lunch which was surprising because we used to come here for our Black History celebration every year and the food would always exceed expectations. The music playing in the background added to the ambiance in a good way. Give them a shot. Pro tip- Brunch starts at 12pm on Sunday so if you want to beat the church crowd go b/w 12-12:45pm that day. Definitely worth checking out. The brunch is delicious!

I opted for the Murph wings and was very pleased with their size spice and crunch. One mutual thing that the wife and I both noted was that the blue cheese was probably one of the worst blue cheeses we've had in a while. It was like mayonnaise with just a couple of chunks of blue cheese thrown into it. I almost would have preferred Ken's. Overall, though, I was extremely pleased with my meal and would definitely want to come back again and try more of the menu.
