Fried Chicken Mac and Cheese Yams
Derekica J.

I was so excited to finally get some soul food in Buffalo! Mind you, I'm from Florida and know what good soul food is. Unfortunately, I was terribly disappointed. The food was barely palatable. It looked delicious but the taste was just not there.....at all! I hate writing bad reviews, but I have to be honest. It's only right. The fried chicken was over cooked in old grease. They doused it in pepper, which was all I could taste besides the horrible oil. 0/10, would not recommend. The Mac and cheese was equally disgusting. And the candy yams had way too much allspice and cinnamon, not enough sugar. I'm so disappointed and hungry. I don't know if this is normal for the area but this restaurant gets a hard pass for me. I hope if you decide to patronize this restaurant your food is at least decent. Written by a hungry, disappointed Floridian lol.

Curry Chicken Mac and Cheese Collard Greens Yams

The food is bussin. Very flavorful. The chicken is tender. The Mac is cheesy. The yams are perfectly sweet. And they have 2/25$ deal. Def getting this again :) (The picture does the food no justice lol)

My jambalaya pasta
Colleen O.

Wow! This place is a hidden gem . People always talk about the trendy New Orleans inspired restaurant Toutant that's down the street , little do they know that Brother's has some great southern cuisine for a reasonable price . My jambalaya pasta (with shrimp, chicken and sausage) was the most satisfying pasta dish I have had in quite awhile . It had some heat but not too much so and all the meat was plump and flavorful . My friend got the fried chicken dinner with Mac and cheese , beans and collard greens . She said everything on her plate was phenomenal . To finish , we both splurged and got some banana pudding . (only $4) What a happy ending to a tasty meal! While I should add that the service was very attentive, they definitely do a lot of takeout business, which I plan on taking advantage of in the future .

Over the top fried chicken sandwich and a "brothers" cocktail! Best friend chicken in town!!!! So good!

Best fried chicken in town!!! Fanatics food, little wait, friendly staff! Definitely will be back! $10 cocktails that are fantastic too!

Veggie Plate: steamed broccoli, mac and cheese and yams.
Renee B.

My uncle treated me to dinner at this restaurant. It is situated in a pretty quiet area and parking wasn't difficult to find at the time we went. The inside is straightforward but clean. I ordered a veggie plate which consisted of yams, mac and cheese and steamed broccoli. My daughter had their broccoli alfredo (we omitted the chicken). I do not know what they do to their broccoli but it is out of this world!!!!!! I could've ordered JUST their broccoli and I would've been satisfied. It was seasoned so perfectly, it's ridiculous. Writing this review makes me have flashbacks to just how amazing that side item was. The other food selections were tasty, as well. It's just that the broccoli stole the ENTIRE show.

Brothers Seafood Omlette

I've never heard of this place until my friend mentioned it. It is definitely a hidden gem. I came here for brunch. First off, the place is huge and clean! There were so many good options but I went with the seafood omelette. The portions are huge! You can tell the food is made with love. My omelette was delicious and had lots of seafood in it. The side of potatoes was also really good. I didn't get a mimosa but my friend said she loved hers! I would definitely come back to try other things.

Lemon pepper wings & honey Cajun wings
Andre L.

My wife and I ended up here because we were at Town Ballroom for a show, had some time to kill, and were in the mood for some good wings. Dinosaur BBQ is right there, of course, and their wings aren't bad, but it's not a place we would go to for "good wings," you know? We also decided it would take too long to walk to Gabe's Gate and back before the show, especially when accounting for the time it would take to sit down and eat. I hopped on Yelp and we discovered Brothers. I haven't read the reviews that prevent this place from getting a perfect 5 stars and I don't care what they say. Our experience left us wanting to come back before we even saw our food. From the moment we walked in, the staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, leading us to a seat right away with smiles on their faces. When it was time to order, my wife and I disagreed on wing flavors. She wanted lemon pepper, I wanted honey cajun. We asked for a single order of each. Our server then suggested we combine them into one double order. This surprised us. Most servers at other restaurants would happily charge for two singles when you're ordering different flavors, but here she was saving us a few bucks just because she could. As we waited for our food, we admired the surroundings. The vibes and decor spoke to elegance and sophistication, but also simple, laid back, and relaxed. You want to go out for a nice dinner with great food, but don't want to have to dress up for fear of being judged? This place is a great candidate. As for our wings, they were great. This place landed on our list of restaurants to get back to as soon as we took our first bite. Unfortunately, we had to box up half of them and bounce in a rush for our show, but we're definitely coming back here. When we return with more time to spare, we plan to try some of their entrees, like shrimp & grits and/or Cajun jambalaya. As BIG fans of New Orleans and NOLA cuisine, we can't wait.

Burger and fries

Great casual restaurant downtown. Awesome food and super reasonably priced! Came on a Saturday night with a couple friends, we were the only ones in the restaurant for a bit! I heard good things about the meatloaf and Mac so that's what I got along with sweet potatoes and broccoli. REALLY GENEROUS PORTIONS! Meatloaf came with 3 sides. Everything was incredibly delicious, seriously. The meatloaf was awesome! Loved all the sides too. My friends got the burger and the Chicken Curry. Great reviews from both of them. Collard greens were a favorite as well. Had apple pie cheesecake for dessert! You read that right lol and it was great! Perfect amount of apple pie filling on top of a really tasty cheesecake. The whole bill was only about $60 plus a tip! Which is amazing considering the portion sizes! This place is a must-try for sure!

I've thoroughly enjoyed each visit to brothers. I've had a variety of things from their menu, the fried lobster, streak, steak egg rolls, Mac n cheese and my personal favorite the salmon pasta. The portions are nice and the drink options are also good. I've always experienced very friendly staff which always make the experience that much better. Their salmon pasta dish is huge in portion. I feel like it can feed two people (or at least at the time of this review) the salon has a Cajun seasoning and is topped with fresh Parmesan cheese. The pasta is fettuccini and mixed with peppers snd onions. Just delicious. When I've came for the fried lobster, I will say that the batter was a bit thicker but n my order but otherwise another great choice.

Fried Lobster whewww!

Food is incredible. Chill vibe good for all ages. RnB music was perfect. Great priced drinks and the owners even came by to thank us for coming in. We also head from the owners about the history of the restaurant. Love this place!

What was left of the tasteless salmon
Quansherria B.

Wasn't worth the money... I had the blackened catfish it tasted like NOTHING not even fish... yes it was coated in what looked like seasonings but there was absolutely NO TASTE. I left it on the plate. The greens were decent as well as the sweet potatoes. My sister ordered the salmon one side was so hard she couldn't even eat it. It also tasted like nothing not even salmon. I'm not sure what happened i guess if it's not fried they can't cook. The service was ok like we were the only ones there and we had to wait a while for our food. We had to keep asking the waitress for water, silverware the correct sauce. She would not just walk over and check on us because the party was in the back all the staff could be heard just laughing having a good time while we waited and waited. NEVER AGAIN $90 gone and I still was hungry when I left

On my first trip to Buffalo, one of my friends told me that Brother's was MUST VISIT! And I am so glad I went! The food was so good! It was, unfortunately, a long wait. But it was also definitely worth it. And let me tell you something...that fried lobster WAS EVERYTHING! WOW. My friends recorded my reaction LOL. Yes, it was that good! And so were the collard greens! Brother's is a staple and I will be going back as soon as I'm back in Buffalo!

Fried Haddock (LN)
Jada I.

I know that fish looks really! I was surprised shocked tbh. The fish tasted good, it was crunchy, nice batter on it. I recommend getting it. The mash was okay. I didn't really like it. But that macaroni was really good. It was nice and cheesy and flavorful.

I rarely buy into the local food hype because it so often falls flat, but this place is…read morelegitimately amazing. The food here is insanely good, which was a huge relief. My Matt and I went here for our anniversary. He loves BBQ and I love Indian food, so it worked out perfectly. We arrived a tad after four on a Thursday; there was no line. We walked up to the meat carver's station with no one in front of us. The menu was clearly posted right above the carving station, but my anxiety meant I genuinely couldn't process it in the moment, even though we weren't being rushed by anything. I kept asking the carvers questions that were answered right on the board in front of me, and they kept a very friendly face and powered through with patience. I appreciate that immensely. We found a table on the enclosed patio. There were a few large picnic tables and some other smaller tables in there too. There isn't a ton of space inside, but they have a giant backyard with a bunch of seating. If it had been slightly warmer, we would've opted for the backyard. Matt had his three-meat, two-side tray with an added Texas Twinkie and a slice of their housemade milk bread. He wanted to sample as much as possible. We ended up getting four more meals out of the leftovers. They brought out my hot link foldie and shells 'n' cheese with candied jalapeños maybe seven minutes later, hot and fresh. As I took pictures, I noticed everything glowed! The colors were so vibrant and varied. It was easy to get good photos. The flavors were extraordinary. Everything was perfectly prepared. The sliced brisket and the ribs I tried from Matt's tray were the best I have ever had by far. The smoked hot link foldie I ordered was incredible. It combined my love of sausage, Indian flavors, and incredibly fresh, buttery, flaky paratha. The slaw and various housemade condiments, pickled onion, and candied jalapeños made it. I would order this a million more times. AND! It's $12. No joke. You want a pizza shop sub that's carelessly thrown together with low-quality, highly processed ingredients for at least $12...or this gorgeous foldie? I could go on and on about everything we tried and how satisfyingly perfect it all was...but try it yourself! You will not be disappointed. There is no "wrong" thing to order from the menu. We're already planning a return, and I can't wait!

We placed a reservation and were told when our table was ready. Our server Ruby was outstanding! She promptly brought more drinks, answered questions and gave us the time to decide. The breaded fish was delicious, as was the Mac salad and slaw. I chose onion straws as my third side. They were fine and would have complimented a steak nicely. My fault, they were lost under a fried fish. They had a good crowd despite the frigid conditions and the lot was well plowed. I should have gone with the mac and cheese. It looked great and everyone else liked it. Shout out to Ruby who certainly made our night. A great place for Mardi Gras reveling in a few weeks!

If I'm ever back in Buffalo, I'll definitely stop by again to try more of their menu.

We made reservations online at the restaurant's website after reading reviews and viewing photos…read morethat this might be a cozier sized restaurant. Mind you this place is located near UB South, on Main Street so traffic can get tricky if you don't know what you're doing or where you're going. There is street parking, but during peak hours you might be hard pressed to find a spot. We walked in after parking on the street, and the door was propped open and the garage style window was open bringing a nice breeze into the restaurant. The entry way is accessible as it is a small incline walk in which is great for those who are using wheelchairs/canes/walkers. We went to the hostess booth and informed we had a reservation and were promptly sat near the patio window area so we definitely could people watch. Our waitress was patient and sweet while we tried to decide what we wanted of all the delicious options to be had. The restaurant does have a specials menu that may rotate out on the day, they'll post the specials on their website before opening is my understanding. Drinks: We both had water, I got a blackberry smash, and he had two grapefruit flavored beer (which was delicious and I'm not a beer person superbly). My blackberry smash was pretty strong and tasty- it lasted past the meal which is a good sign in my book to savor it. Dinner: He got the shrimp po boy (fried shrimp,Tabasco garlic sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion, blue cheese crumble), on a roll and it comes with sweet potato fries. The shrimp was beautifully cooked and crispy with a well appropriately coated. The sweet potato fries were tangy and delicious. I got the blackened halibut kabobs (coconut rice, pineapple salsa, soy-sesame glaze). And a side of the rosemary Mac and cheese. The kabobs were so delicious- the halibut fell apart and was tender. Coconut rice was on point with the pineapple salsa, it was like a meal and a dessert at the same time. There were some peppers that had a kick so I gave them to him to eat and he loved them. I didn't even get to the Mac and cheese because the halibut was so filling! He had some Mac and cheese though and really enjoyed it. I had it boxed up for me to have a nice snack. This was a very pleasant surprise. Tangy and delicious and hit the nail on head for taste and service.

Indoor was very much reminiscent of a typical bar area on one side and then regular table seating on the other side. The day we went the weather was warm enough for their big doors to open up on to the patio seating out front. The bread and butter they served was delicious and we appreciated being able to try different breads. The shrimp and grits were delicious and they use really big sumptuous shrimp. I actually got pretty filled up and couldn't finish my seafood stew so ended up bringing half of it home. So portion sizes here are definitely big and everything tasted fresh! Their seafood stew is very generous with the seafood and the bread for dipping was delicious as well. Will definitely be adding this to our rotation here in Buffalo!
