Food Truck outside

Stopped here for lunch. I should have read the reviews 1st since I expected to dine- in and it's takeout only. The place both inside and out didn't look very inviting but have learned as they say to not judge a book by it's cover. We were greeted warmly by the woman working behind the counter. We placed our orders and were out within a few minutes. I ordered the jambalaya with andouille sausage. My husband ordered the beans and rice. She asked if we wanted some hot sauce on the side. Naturally, we said yes. We opened the hot sauce container at home and should have tasted it before pouring it on my rice. It tasted and smelled 'funny'. Almost like wet cardboard. Luckily it was a small container and didn't totally ruin the dish. Otherwise I thought the jambalaya was ok. Nothing exciting. Overall, the food was ok, but there was nothing I'd rush back to get again. 2024-22

Love this place, food is top tier, especially given the prices! However, there was a minor kitchen mismatch with my order today. I ordered an 8oz cup of sausage and grits which I was looking forward to but when I opened my order after I left I had realized they gave me an 8oz gumbo chicken and sausage. Should've checked prior to leaving but that's my mistake.

Ordered first time, glad I did. Crawfish etouffee was delicious. Shrimp grits was very very good. The cheese crawfish flatbread was very tasty. Packed well, I will be ordering again, very soon.

DELISH!

I FINALLY GOT THE SHE CRAB SOUP!!!! It was utter bliss . It just as good, dare I say better, than when I had it years ago in Fripp Island, SC. The gators bites with the remoulade are awesome. I was leary as it's about $9 for 4 ounces but to my pleasant surprise they about filled a soup container. I also got the special lobster grits. I have to admit I prefer the shrimp. And as always got the star of the show, crawfish étouffée. Sadly no pic of the gator since I ate it in the car lol. I'm also bummed I forgot a fruit tea and the crawfish bread

Jambalaya with Andouille Sausage

First time trying this place and it's very yummy!! Gentleman at the counter was very polite and kind. I got the classic jambalaya with extra sausage. Delish!!

I stopped here for a bite to eat while waiting to pickup my wife at the airport. This is more of a takeout place as it is quite small with only a few tables. The food is prepared while you watch. The young couple working there were very friendly and accommodating. I had the gumbo, which is tough to find around town. It was very good and spicy, and the roux was quite thick. The cornbread was also good. I am anxious to try some other dishes.

Jambalaya!!!!

This is yet another place that makes you glad you never eat at chain places. Saw it as I was driving by, it was a chilly rainy day and decided that any place so unassuming has to have amazing food. As usual, my gut instinct was spot on. Had a steamy spicy bowl of jambalaya, and they obliged me with a mighty yummy taste of the grits. I don't know why, but grits this good are hard to come by. Small clean dining area, zydeco music playing. Have to return for the shrimp and grits.

I realized that logically, there was probably really good Cajun food *somewhere* in or around the city of Buffalo, and was very pleasantly surprised to learn how close it was -- just past the Galleria mall, but just before the neighborhood starts to get hairy. Lousiana Cookery's a little place, easily recognized by its bright signage and happy crawfish mascot, and I've yet to get anything there that wasn't authentic and utterly delicious. The she-crab soup is to die for, as is the etouffee. The owners are warm and welcoming, and while the drink options are limited to various homemade teas and lemonades, they're fresh and the perfect foil to the rich, creamy, spicy menu offerings. All in all, an excellent place to pop in and pretend you live in a place where the winters don't last six months. Definitely try the crawfish bread!

The modern, chic decor sets a wonderful ambiance, and the service was immediate and welcoming. The food was spectacular from start to finish. We started with fresh, warm bread, followed by a flavorful seafood gumbo loaded with meat, and a generous portion of two lightly breaded crab cakes. For our mains, the 10oz ribeye and 8oz tenderloin were seasoned and cooked to absolute perfection--compliments to the chef! They came with a lovely side of baby potatoes and vegetables. We capped off a perfect meal with a warm pecan tart and ice cream. I highly recommend coming here. We noticed they have a pizza oven and plan to add pizza to the menu soon; we already can't wait for our next visit to try it out! Ps parking wise, the restaurant is just off a residential neighborhood and parking is free. No need to pay for any parking, just remember to read signs.

There are specials that change weekly. The interior is decorated with New Orleans memorabilia, medium lit, cozy (not large), with jazz music in the background. Service was attentive and friendly. They operated for 30 years at their old location. This location soft-opened on 2026-02-12. We came on 2026-02-25 for dinner. There were still some furnishings to complete (there were unforeseen delays). They kept the same menu offerings but it will be expanded within a month. We ordered the following: 1. Citra Terre D'Abruzzo Pinot Grigio - Italy (glass $14.95). 2. Coke. 3. Crab Cakes ($19.95). 4. New Orleans Shrimp Cocktail ($19.95). 5. Jambalaya Aranchini (weekly special). 6. Blackened Lamb Chops (weekly special). 7. New Orleans Fisherman's Plate ($39.95). 8. Pecan Pie warmed with Ice Cream ($14.95). 9. Bananas Foster ($14.95). 10. Beignet ($14.95). Every dish had an excellent presentation. We spent a lot of time taking photos and videos. What did you expect from me?! We loved all the dishes! The portions were large! There are more staff than in the previous location, allowing the service to be excellent. They tend to have many loyal and returning customers. Every table starts with freshly baked bread and butter. The bread was so fresh! The three appetizers tasted good. They each had a little kick due to creole cuisine. I loved the shrimp the most. The Blackened Lamb Chops was perfectly cooked. Each of the four pieces were very tender, accompanied by a delicious sauce. The dish had some very nicely cooked seasonal vegetables: roasted potatoes, a red pepper, string beans, a broccoli, and a carrot. This dish will be put into their regular menu in the near future. The New Orleans Fisherman's Plate is great if you want a little sampling of their seafood: Blackened Fish, Cajun Calamari, and Coconut Beer Shrimp. It also comes with rice and seasonal vegetables. The fish was so good! We brought some home for my mom and she really loved it. The Coconut Beer Shrimp was on top of a Orange Marmalade Sauce, which is really liked. The three desserts looked really good and tasted good. I loved the pecan pie the most. They can split dishes in half in the kitchen and serve them on two dishes for two people to share. The restaurant uses fresh seasonal ingredients and spices to create authentic Creole and Cajun tastes. Everything is made in-house except for bread and butter. In the near future, their bread will be made in-house too. Currently, there is only indoor dining but they are looking into the possibility of sidewalk outdoor dining. Mike Djurdjevic runs the front of the house while his wife, Mira Djurdjevic, operates the kitchen. Their son, Marko, also helps in the front of the house. There is a large pizza oven at the back of the restaurant. They will be introducing creole pizza in the near future. There is a separate large room for events, parties, etc. This room will be ready in the near future. They also do catering. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There is one gender-neutral washroom, which is also wheelchair accessible, and one female washroom. Thrre is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2026-037

Stumbled upon here as I was searching for hidden gems. It's a shame more people don't know about this kitchen. Came in on a Saturday night around 7pm. Ordered the Blackened shrimp po boy and the Szechuan Udon with shrimp which has noodles stir fried & tossed with veggies in a spicy Szechuan inspired sauce. Both were tasty. Seasoned beautifully. Had lovely colored and delivered with every bite. Honestly it was so good that two hours later I came back and ordered food for my family. They licked the plate clean. I got them the Creole Seafood Eggrolls and the southern fried shrimp po boy. There's a few seats outside the restaurant but most people take it to go it looks like. Tell your friends. Tell your family. Slide thru. It won't disappoint. Plus it's Black owned. Bonus info! If you don't wanna order in person you can get it with grubhub, door dash, and other delivery platform

We were looking for cajun food and stumbled upon this hidden gem. When I say hidden, its hidden tucked inside an old industrial building (with zero street signage) that now houses a bunch of pop up culinary surprises. On the second floor tucked in the back corner you will find Far East Bayou. This casual take out restaurant, is a fusion of Southern New Orleans and Korean flavors. The chef was extremely friendly and ready to take us down his culinary journey down the bayou. I ordered a bunch of different dishes for my husband and I to sample: Shrimp Bo Poy - blackened, shrimp po boy- fried, crab hush puppies and honey cajun udon noodles. Everything was extremely flavorful! The sauces were out of this world. They had a nice spice on them. Not a spice that sets your mouth on fire, but spice that is flavorful and enhances everything else on the plate. The fried shrimp was super crispy and the cornmeal breading was perfectly seasoned. My only complaint is the preparation of the shrimp. The shrimp are prepared with their tails on, which made it difficult to eat. We had to dig through the sauces and toppings to find each shrimp and pull the tails off . I learned the owner makes his own kimchi, which is made using more spices and vegetables and less fish. He allowed me to sample some, and I will be dreaming about this kimchi tonight! I will definitely be coming back to try their rotating specials menu, and grab some more kimchi!

Captain's Boil, the formulaic chain would be the floor and the one I really enjoyed, Lobster Boil Seafood House, in North York would be the ceiling. What I'm about to say about Sea Salt would definitely leave their management a bit "salty". Unequivocally, Sea Salt sits in the deep basement of the pecking order. Sea Salt's standing was easily determined after my first spoonful of the seafood broil. The sauce was their downfall as they went overboard with the of garlic and not to mention they burnt the garlic. As the Cajun sauce is the soul of a seafood boil, their sauce literally ruined the entire dish and experience. The combo we ordered came with fried calamari and shrimp and fries. The fried calamari and shrimp lacked a bit of "salt", which is rather ironic considering the restaurant's name and neither of the sauce complimented (sweet chilli and ranch) the calamari well. The fries were what you expected it to be. But a little bit too much sauce. The one thing that I liked was you could choose to have the Turkish Salaam Cola as part of your combo drink choice. I didn't think it was all that different from regular cola, but it was nice to try. Service is quite slow here and not super attentive. We had to flag them down various times to get things that should have been provided. We weren't given enough plates to start and we had to request for bibs and disposable gloves. These are pretty standard things at other boil places. In general, the appetizers were better than the seafood boil. The portion of the combo was pretty good so we packed some of it to go. But to put things into perspective, the following day I reheated the food for lunch, and my two kids didn't even touch it (with one of them who had experienced Lobster Boil Seafood house). That tells you something!

I thought the fish tacos had a kick of spice added but they were still good. The fries were crispy, which I loved but the highlight for me has to be the shrimp. I loveeeeed the sea salt sauce.
