This place is deceiving when you first walk in. Its looks are kind of mosh posh and needs work. The menus looked dirty and trashed and definitely need to be reprinted. That being said the food is outstanding! Service was great except they only had one man working the bar and dine in. That's needs to be corrected. However like I said the food is worth the cost. Our party was large enough to try a few different dishes and everyone was satisfied. Portions are large and you will easily have leftovers to take home. There is a large selection of alcohol at reasonable prices. Group favorites were the Mac and Cheese, Pulled Pork and adult Grilled cheese. What good food! We stopped in for a late lunch as we transitioned from one campground to another. Maneuvering our 21' trailer in the parking lot wasn't too bad mid-afternoon. We ordered a french dip and spinach salad to share and we were treated to a feast. The salad had a blueberry dressing and was scrumptious. The French dip was the perfect size to share with full size salad. Too bad we aren't locals, we'd be back. We were able to get updated on the Mariners and the Kraken though. read more

Stopped by here for lunch when returning home from a long weekend spent in Montana. It's more of a bar type setting but there is a space for family. The waitress was very polite and made sure to keep checking on us. The food was really good. My wife ordered the chicken ranch sandwich which was bigger than we expected and very good with just the right amount of fries. I ordered the chicken street tacos which were smaller (3 in total) than I expected even for street tacos, but they were very tasty and came with fries and a spectacular Cole slaw. The Filling Station offers good food combined with a wide range of taps that should satisfy any craving. A large area of the pub is devoted to corn hole, but I guess we need to work off those calories? Bring an empty growler(s) as you can get those filled. They do not sell empty growlers, but I like to think we all have plenty of those. More importantly they sell crowlers (pay attention Growler Guys!). Also they do have a selection of canned beers to round out their well varied collection. Food and good beer, what more could you ask for.... well walk next door to Kitty G's and check out the specialty cheeses and meats and hot sauces. Because Sawmill was so busy, we tried The Filling Station. It took over an hour to get our food, which was surprising, due to the small amount of people and being a Wednesday night. We never got a water refill in that time, the server disappeared for quite awhile, though overall was very apologetic. I'm not sure what the issue was, but it does make me hesitant to come back. My folks were there the night before and they said it was a busier night, but the service was quicker. I did enjoy passing the time with cornhole, but my child repeatedly telling me how hungry we were did not make time pass by any faster. The food, when we got it, was good. I enjoyed the sweet potato fries, though wished they had as much seasoning as the regular fries did. We ordered our breakfast burger medium well, but it was definitely more of a medium/medium rare (though we were hungry enough we didn't want to send it back). Helpful to see the posted pic of the Chicago pie, or I would never had known it's on the menu. I am from the continental cradle of pizza (the Northeast), yet I love every--repeat--EVERY type of wheel. Thin crust, Cali, Mountain Pie, Artisan....and yes, Chicago style. Chi-pie is a totally satisfying knife and fork experience, but it is polarizing as far as pizza aficionados are concerned. That said, I give the Filling Station an emphatic standing ovation for having this on the menu... To the pizza... Excellent. I agree it's not quite the real deal, but it was an outstanding effort for how far West we are. The crust was a nice hybrid of traditional buttery crust and an industrial white-flour dough. Cheese? Oh, yeah. Chicago style has a ton of mozz, and these guys have that covered. Plenty of meat on their offering as well. What stood out to me was their sauce. Slightly sweet, a little tang, and it really brought it all together. And, of course, gloriously on top of the pie. They probably used canned tomatoes, but what the heck, huh? No issue with me. There are scant opportunities to have this style of pizza in the West... Notes: My pictures make the pie look pretty massive. It's about a 12" cast iron pan, and may look 'small' when put in front of you. All I can say is....get ready. I'm not this place's typical customer and I wouldn't normally coming here. It's a bar and I don't drink alcohol, and I had no idea they served pizza until a weeks ago. It's the only place in the area that serves Chicago Style Pizza and it's real and authentic, not the corporatized stuff made for mass production. I really enjoyed it. I'd say that it's the best pizza in Idaho, and #2 Pizza in the Spokane-CDA region. It was the type you have to eat with a fork and a knife. It was absolutely delicious. I would've given it a 5 star based off the quality alone, but this place has serious issues. I came here once and the hours had temporarily changed. Nothing on the website. Came here a second time and they were closed until 4PM on that day. The third time I came here they weren't serving pizza. I was committed to trying a Chicago Style Pizza because pizza is my favorite food, and this area doesn't have a lot of good options, but I'm not sure if I'll make plans to go back for a while. While I was there, the guy working kept telling anyone that they only have not a real cook so it would be slow. Tree times wanting to try it and not being able to, and on the forth time they were having issues. They say it's all staffing relating issues, but I don't know because these issues seem to be unique to this place alone. EDITED. I have heard good things about this place and decided to check it out today since I was in the area. Its a very unassuming place, and can easily be overlooked if you aren't sure where it is. I wasn't completely sure it was open at first because some of the lights in the window were off but the open sign was lit up so I tried it. Walking in I was greeted by the bartender and told to sit where ever. Grabbed a seat and menus and water was brought out super fast. Apparently it was only her and one person in the kitchen, but they were killing it. There were quite a few tables filled that were spread both inside and outside of the bar area. The bartender had a really good flow of checking on the guests, grabbing drinks and orders and, checking back in the kitchen on the food. I kept it pretty simple, just a diet soda and their poutine. I mean it is really hard to resist french fries, gravy and, cheese curds. Understandably, it took a little bit for the food to come. I was after quite a few orders, so no biggie. When it came out it was hot and covered with cheese. I was a little surprised that the gravy was on the side and not on the fries and cheese itself. Have to say that was a pro move though because the fries stayed crispy and the cheese was gooey and dipping it in the gravy was delicious. It was a very gluttonous and filling lunch. No regrets on my part. Their menu is a good combination of appetizers, pizza, handhelds and, mains. There are definitely a few things that I want to come back and try. Especially the deep dish pizza that is served in a cast iron pan. The bartender was definitely running and doing a great job keeping up. Especially, since the day itself sounded like a rough one, from problems with the internet and a leak in the gas line that they had to deal with earlier in the day. Really good place to relax and chill. Monday night was not busy at all. Very wide array of beers to try, on tap and bottles. You'll surely find something you like. I had the best grilled cheese of my life here with some thick ass bacon and delicious cheese curds inside. You'll want to try it if cheese is your thing. All of their entrees and dishes are big enough that you're pretty much getting your money's worth. Everyone with us enjoyed their meal. Very good spinach salad too. We were super excited to see a restaurant in our area preparing Chicago style pizza. We are pretty huge fans of Lou Malnatis and Giordanos in Chicago so we had to give it a try. First impression is that this is a very oddly set up restaurant. You sort of walk into a dining area, then notice a sign that ask us to see wait staff for a seat. Oddly, they were all in the bar area that is separate from the dining room. Walking into the bar we were told to take any seat. Water was brought out promptly and drink/appetizer orders we taken. The cheese curd appetizer was brought out quickly and it was awesome. Well worth the $8. As expected we ordered the Chicago style meat pizza. It was brought out about 25-30minutes later just as advertised. While Chicago style, it is best described as their own version. However it is very good and as close to the original as you get in the NW. The pizza has a nice tangy sauce and is loaded with mozzarella. Absolutely Loaded! We didn't find it heavy on meat or for that matter medium on meat. It was still a very good pizza though, and more than two people can eat. Overall a very good experience, nice staff, good value, and good food. read more

The good: - Decent food. - Pretty impressive beer list. The not so good: - Way understaffed when busy. - Can feel like a Chuck E. Cheese will all the screaming kids. - Kitchen is unorganized. Appetizers came out after the pizza. - Poor climate control. So, I have been here a few times and when I could get in, things have been progressively worse. If they are busy, they may tell you that food could take an hour. We wanted to give them another try, so I called and was able to make a reservation for four of us. Our table was ready when we arrived. We sat in the larger room, which appears to maybe have been an enclosed porch at one time. Our server did take our drink orders fairly quickly. When our drinks were delivered, we were told that the kitchen was backed up....We were ready for this as we had brought cards to play, plus we thought the extensive beer list was a good reason to stay. So we ordered pizza along with a couple of appetizers. While we waited, we were treated to the continual sound of screaming children, who also liked to run around and bump into chairs. Not sure where the parents were, maybe they were in the attached room where you can play cornhole....Anyway we asked our server if we could move into the main bar area where it is a little quieter when a table open up. We were told sure, but that never happened. The temperature swung from being about comfortable, to being very cold. So the area is heated but not well. Our pizza finally arrived, hot and fresh. The appetizers finally arrived when we were about halfway thru the pizza. One of our group said they felt like there were in upscale Chuck E Cheese.... Not sure if we will be back at all. We started with the Bacon wrapped figs, the blueberry, goat cheese, balsamic, and cucumber, were tasty, the bacon wrapped figs were way over cooked, not so tasty! We were visiting and wanted a place to grab a beer and dinner after the long drive, but this wasn't it. First impression was that this place is dingy and was so hot. The whole place just looks like they kept taking over spaces but didn't know what to do with them. We decided to eat in the front section since it seemed a little less dank, but they clearly need to learn when to open and close blinds and windows, especially if you don't have AC that can handle the space. Once there we realized we would just be getting a beer while we find someplace else for food. I did order the bacon wrapped figs because we love them but don't see them often. We found it rather odd that they served them here, but everyone was convinced they come frozen because they weren't as fresh and delicious as they should have been. I figure that's why they add so much toppings - to hide the flavor. Usually I've just had them with a balsamic reduction, so more is usually a sign of covering for lower quality. They were okay, but we saw everyone else's food and were glad we didn't get more, it just didn't look that great. Service was nice enough, but a little on the slow side. Finally experienced the Filling Station in Post Falls, ID. We were extremely happy with our meal. We came across the PB&J Chicken Wings and almost missed out on the best part of our dinner! We were skeptical at first. Oh my goodness these unique flavored wings were AMAZING!!! You have to go there just for the PB&J Wings. The homemade Root beer brewed from Sandpoint was also tasty. They were out of the Ace Pumpkin Cider so I had the pineapple flavored cider. We had the breakfast burger, Beer Cheese Soup, sweet potato fries, and the spinach salad with huckleberry vinaigrette. I wasn't a big fan of the Beer Cheese Soup but if you love Sausage you will love this soup. We look forward having future meals here to try more things on the menu. My only complaint is, they do the micro brews, IPA type drinks and we are super boring. Would love it if they carried Coors Light in a bottle or can. That would make our dinner perfect . This review is not about the food, which we never tried. We came here on a Saturday at around 12:30pm. We were excited to try it because of the positive Yelp reviews and the menu, which looked appealing to us. However, when we entered the restaurant, it's as if we walked into someone's private party. The outside sign said "Open," but when we walked inside, we were met with an "open seating" sign in the middle of what appeared to be some sort of tournament. We sat at an uncleaned, sticky table with someone's McDonald's coffee cup on it. After 10 minutes of getting weird looks from the people already there and no visit by a hostess or wait-staff, we left. If a restaurant lacks the ability to get it right in the first 10 minutes, we're assuming the rest of the experience will be similar. If they are doing some sort of tournament, that's fine. It was less than a block from the office and we were busy, so we decided to give it a go. Funky small little place. Tables inside and a covered screened in patio type outdoor seating. the server was nice but food was terrible and we were the only customers there. The onion rings were so soggy and full of oil like pooping out still. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger. That all that was on it cheese a tiny burger patty that barely covered have the bun and some ridiculously thick cut bacon. Like a half inch thick which wasn't barely cooked so it was just a thick chewy piece of fat. No other toppings nothin. Again so so greasy that bun was completely soaked and falling apart couldn't pick it up. Wife ordered steak quesadilla which was sour...don't know if it was the meat or the pico or what but tasted so awful that we couldn't eat it. Those three items with water to drink were $50. We used to love this place. Decent restaurants in Post Falls are slim, so we tend to remain loyal to the good ones. However, it all changed for us after they slimmed down the menu for some reason. Gone were all the good meals. tacos. California wraps. etc. we came back a couple of times since, to see if it got better again. But the food was very bland and over spiced. The fries used to be one of my favorites. Nice long hot shoe string fries. and lots of them. But tonight they looked like the dog ends of someone elses meal. maybe they were (I'd don't want to think about that). The portion was about 1/2 the size what it used to be too. I really like the bar staff. The guy is very friendly. I don't like how the tip selection on his ipad starts at 18% though. Not cool. Won't be back. Very sad. read more

First, an FYI, the phone number given on Yelp for the Filling station is the wrong number. It leads to an establishment in CDA. I hope they fix that soon As for the place itself, I really like The Filling Station in Post Falls. It's small in the Winter, because no one wants to sit on the patio, even if they have heaters out there. But it's got a great atmosphere inside with several TVs playing the games and smiling and helpful servers. The crowd is pretty lively. On Friday nights, live music. At least they did on this Friday night. An older gentleman full of character and life playing his guitar and singing. Had a lot of us singing along and some people got up to dance, even though the space is small. The deep dish pizza was really good! Chicago style is awesome. They have some great beers, especially the sours, and will let you sample before you buy. I actually sampled a Peanut Butter stout that was darn good! Yes, I said peanut butter. Sounds crazy, but it's good! Last time I had the pork tacos and sweet potatoe fries with coleslaw. Everything was good but the pork was a little sweet for my taste, so I won't get that again. Plenty of other great looking dishes to choose from though. Especially that deep dish pizza. I'll keep coming back to try more things! I'll order the PB stout next time. read more

The atmosphere is very similar to a small New York pizza joint. Limited seating and a lackluster arrangement of decor. However, the beer selection is vast with an emphasis on quality. A true hole in the wall, the filling station has set a standard for local brew pubs with its brew and its food. Absolutely delicious menu. Really confused on where all the 5 star ratings came from.. did we just go on a bad night? First off the one and only waiter could have cared less that we were even alive. Never refilled drinks, never stopped to check on us, never really said much with the exception of "we don't have lemonade, we keep getting tea. But I'm out of tea". Asked for napkins and he brought us back one. My biggest pet peeve, having me pay on an ipad while you breathe in my ear... I tip when the service is actual service. Every person who walked in the door was confused as to where to go, no greeting, no "sit anywhere" and nobody with any swag on so you even knew who worked there. We ordered; kids Mac and cheese Kids grilled cheese Wings and side salad Adult Mac and cheese (because yelp said it was good) Over an hour later we got our food... Adult Mac and cheese is raw onions, heavy cream and the tiniest sprinkle of cheddar cheese... but all you taste is raw onion. For an hour wait I thought we would have some pretty serious Mac. Kids grilled cheese was so hard my child nor I could barely take a bite out of it. The wings were good. Standard bar food!! Side salad was under the heat lamp with the Mac and cheese so the lettuce was hot and soggy. Kids Mac and cheese my child couldn't even eat one noodle. She took a bite and spit it out, she lives off Mac and cheese FYI and has yet to find food she hates until now. read more
