    Iced Caramel Macchiato
    Kristina W.

Since my visit to NY and Jersey, I've found no one who can make an Iced Caramel Macchiato like The Ferryman Cafè!! It's a cup of LOVE and worth every sip!!! THANK YOU!!!!

Food is solid and good. Definitely get the pancakes. BUT there are no free coffee refills which surprised us. Also just a warning, they have these specials that "come with small coffees", but they are not free with the specials during the weekends. Communication was not good, these things took us by surprise. Vibe was good though, turning down the TV would be better. Staff was friendly.

7 for this omelette, came with no bread...

No masks on. Not the person servicing the food, nor the chef in the back. It's gross. Give your employees masks and make them wear them.

I am however, a chocolate fiend. So when I noticed The Pod by Cocoa Compassion on Cedar St in Dobbs Ferry not far from where hubs and I had our antique+vintage shop, I had to visit. The Pod by Cocoa Compassion's owner- Joy is 100% in support of working closely with family-run cacao farmers in The Caribbean, some Central American countries and Africa and sourcing the best quality chocolate bars and powders to these neck of the woods and beyond. What's more, the owner donates a portion of her profits to charitable organizations in NYC. With her chocolate, the owner bakes her own delicious 'Compassion Chocolate Cookies' that are filled with scrumptious dark chocolate chunks, other pastries and her hot chocolate- which is to-die for. When you come to The Pod, you're actually home: sit on the sofa lounge a bit if you want and strike up a conversation with the owner- who's a hoot and damn well knows her cacao. I learned a thing or two maybe three because of her. The shelves are stocked with dark chocolate bars and powders for purchase and specialty gift items as well. By the way, Joy rents(?) the small space up front for pop-up events+vendors selling their handmade jewelry, silk scarves, etc.- just double-check if this is something she's still doing. If you're looking for somewhere to have a tasty hot chocolate, want to indulge in a one of her cookies or come in for the positive vibes, The Pod is a must.

Do your toppings for you. I understand that post Covid. They might want to keep everything clean, but it was kind of annoying because if you only wanted a little bit of a topping, they would heap the topping on anyways because they get paid more money since the cup goes on the scale. The inside was cute, but there's minimal seating and it's not the cleanest.

At the very tip corner of Cedar St, Go Greenly ALSO offers Bubble Tea, smoothies and a couple of other things. On a super humid Halloween late afternoon, I finally notice them and their bubble tea grabbed my attention. Plus since I'm a lychee bubble tea addict, this was just right- for me. Go G.'s inside has a lot of sit down space by the window and the counter setup is vast as well. Service was fine and when I requested the light ice and an extra shot of Lychee in my drink, my wish was granted. I may not be a bubble tea expert- but this much I know, Go G's boba is (1) smooth and slightly soft on the outside and it was chewy all the way through (2) the lychee [syrup] was actually tasty (3) had nice tea flavor. All those factors for me, won. Ton of calories aside, I'd return.

She recently wanted to treat me to lunch and was excited to finally introduce me to one of her favorite spots, so I figured it was time to see what all the fuss was about. Located on Central Park Avenue in Yonkers, right next to an excellent Jersey Mike's that I frequent, Sol Bol was a completely new experience for me. The place is a small, grab and go establishment with a few seats but not many. On this day it was quiet and not too much action. This was my first-ever açaí bowl, and I have to admit, it was pretty good. What surprised me most was how filling such a small bowl could be. I left feeling full after just a regular-sized bowl. That said, I wasn't completely blown away by the flavor. Maybe it's because I'm new to açaí bowls, but I expected it to be a little sweeter. To me, the texture reminded me somewhat of flavored crushed ice. It was refreshing and enjoyable, but I found myself wishing there were a few more flavor options or a little more sweetness to really make it pop. What truly stood out was the customer service. The two young ladies behind the counter were outstanding. They were friendly, patient, engaging, and genuinely seemed to enjoy helping customers. They walked my daughter through the rewards program and answered all her questions. The funny part is my daughter has been going to Sol Bol for years and never signed up, but after talking with them, she finally did. That's how you know they did their job! Overall, I enjoyed the experience. While the bowl itself didn't quite live up to the hype my daughter built up over the years, the exceptional customer service absolutely elevated the visit. I'll definitely stop in again and try something different from the menu next time.

Love that they have a kids size option. My 2 year old loves it and finishes the whole thing every time. There is indoor and outdoor seating. If you go with a group you have options for everyone and the outdoor seating is for both locations. Can't wait to go back. I hope the Ube flavor is there for the summer or longer! Fair warning SoBoL is pricy, just got the app with the help of a staff member so I hope that may help in the long run :)
