We have visited this venue a couple of times in the past. It is about an hour into our VT to NY trip so it makes for a good stop. The place is a beautiful venue. First class all the way. The restaurant menu is a little uninspired vs the heft of the quality of the building and grounds. My wife ordered the chicken but she had to send it back as it was over processed via Sous Vide or sat in brine or marinade too long. The chicken had lost its structural integrity and was like mush. She opted for their version of a smash burger which was excellent. I chose the vegetarian option even though I'm a big beef eater. It was billed as bean tomato stew over rice. I found it a little bland. It seemed like a take on Indian Chana Masala without the aromatic herbs and spices. The wait staff was very nice and engaging. Two of our servers complimented my wife's Ugg clogs. In this situation since our meals missed the mark, the positive and attentive staff will bring us back. read more

An updated review from my previous ones from many years ago... which has now gone up by 1.5 stars: I had found out there was a complete shift of management and kitchen staff, so we went in to see what changes had been made. Off the cuff, the cocktail and dinner menu looked good. But overall, it still wasn't anything to write home about. Pricy for some entrees you can make better at home. We'll come again and have drinks and a few appetizers on our way back from Vermont (and want to buy some candles next door) but I wouldn't consider it a must-do destination stop for a special occasion dinner. You might think it is because of the beautiful aesthetics which is a good example of "don't judge a book by its cover". They really need to stop trying to leverage on the name "Farm Table" and allow other restaurants who actually produce and execute farm to table menus, sourcing and supporting all the local farmers. Change the name. There's a brewery next door (unrelated to this business) that is worth stopping by. read more

It was one of our favorite prior COVID. Unfortunately it is not the case anymore. For a simple chicken and shrimp scampi, I don't know how dishes can be under-seasoned consonantly. The pasta dishes is lathered with heavy butter and it is just too greasy and unpleasant. Especially the heavy price tag for such simple dishes. It is just not good. We had Mother's Day brunch at the Farm Table. I had been wanting to try the restaurant for a while and was particularly excited when they re-opened. It was a very disappointing experience. The food was actually awful. Green beans that had no seasoning and were undercooked. Mac and cheese that was just odd. I couldn't finish the prime rib, which the server at the station grabbed with his hand and slapped onto my plate. It was tough and fatty. We brought our whole family to celebrate my mother-in-law, and it ended up being really awkward, because the food was so bad. Service was friendly but overwhelmed. I wasn't able to get refills on my soda or on my kids' milks, because the server was so busy. Mother's Day buffet was definitely not worth the price. Ambience was nice, but I would have a hard time coming back after this experience. read more

We were 3 ladies from south of Boston who came a long way but it was all worth it. We had Beet salad , burger and the "fig pig" flatbread pizza with prosciutto, goat cheese and of course figs. This was our first time back at the Farm Table since pre-COVID days. Although the place looks the same, the ambience felt a little bit different, a little less fancy and lacking a bit in hospitality. We've gone there for many years for our wedding anniversary, this year was our 17th, and it was always a special event. The food back then was excellent and we always felt well taken care of and welcomed. This time there wasn't even an offer to hang up a coat and my wife grabbed a person passing by our table and asked for her coat to be checked. The waitress was pleasant, but didn't return to ask how things were or refill drinks. The food was good, not excellent. We had a dozen oysters which were delicious, if small. The mignonette and cocktail sauce were both served without a spoon in sight So we each ate one oyster and then used the empty shells to scoop up the sauces. See what I mean about not being fancy? Cocktails were good I had a ginger sage margarita which I couldn't finish it was heavy on the tequila and I don't drink often but it was tasty. I ordered the salmon entree which had a crunchy salty sweet top, wild rice a little overcooked, in my book it should be chewy, but it was a very good dish that I enjoyed. Wifey's Margharita pizza, on the other hand, was pretty awful. It was loaded with both tomato slices and tomato sauce and was so heavy it completely saturated the crust which became wet and soggy. And not every piece had cheese or a basil leaf on it which just made them a soggy tomato-ey mess. It badly needed salt and there was neither salt nor pepper on the table. Overall, A decent place for a basic meal or a drink but nothing special. For a $130 meal including tax and tip and two cocktails, it really wasn't worth the money. read more

We took a trip to Kringle Candle on a Sunday we decided to book reservations at The Farm Table, we the first ones seated the wait staff is very friendly. We asked for a custom order for breakfast and they were willing to accommodate our request. The food was fresh and tasty. It's a little chilly if you go in the winter months even with the fireplace working. I'd recommend this restaurant and would visit again. The food was fair. My wife's salmon was perfectly cooked. Bok choy tasty. Beet puree was over cooked. My margarita pizza had way too much sauce which made the pizza limp and wet. We love oysters and ordered a dozen. A few of the shells were broken making for jagged edges. The meat was small. Wifey had a killer margarita. The best I've ever had. Hospitality could be better. I had to find someone to give my coat to. Waitress never returned to the table except to take our order. I'll probably give The Farm Table another try. They are in my neighborhood. read more

Not what it used to be. Went for brunch, and was very disappointed in both service and food. Staff was friendly and ambiance was nice. The omelet I ordered was quite literally the worst I've ever had-- the bacon inside was done until burnt and the eggs themselves overcooked. If it hadn't taken nearly an hour to get our food and I wasn't starving, I probably wouldn't have eaten it. A must visit! What a place. Perfectly decorated. Excellent music playing. Friendly staff. And the food is SO fresh and delicious.

2 of us came to eat on a weekday early evening. The setting is wonderful, and the outdoor deck seating is inviting, offering umbrellas, a welcome addition on a warmer than expected evening. The inside also looks quite nice. A for ambiance. Our server was friendly and efficient, seemed to show up at the right times, and was engaging. Well done. Now the food... We both got drinks, a bit expensive for the area, but both drinks that were "invented" by the establishment were quite good. It was "burger night" and the price was quite inviting, but we chose to forgo that to try items on the larger menu. Like the drinks, the prices are about 15% higher than the area competition, not a deal breaker but it does raise expectations. Between the 2 of us, we ordered a mixed salad, the mussels bowl and fried chicken, along with flourless chocolate cake with mint additions for dessert. The mixed salad was uncomplicated and quite large, and we chose an orange tinged dressing. The dressing was excellent and the salad hit the spot. The mussels were good, though perhaps a bit overcooked, but not significantly. A solid dish. It took quite a long time for the food to come out even though the place was not crowded, significantly longer than it should. Good thing we were there for a leisurely dinner. . When the fried chicken arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to see that they had gone through the trouble of dividing the fried chicken into 2 portions for us, a long forgotten nicety when splitting meals. Sadly just by looking, it was obvious that the meal had been drastically overcooked. I took one bite, and the skin was so hard that I thought I had bitten into a bone. It was almost funny how overcooked it was, and specifically because they split it including cutting the main piece in half. I'm flummoxed that they didn't notice and served it anyhow. When we told our server, she was friendly and gracious and we decided to order in its place the meatloaf, as I reasoned it wouldn't take as long as the other meals. Our server confessed that this type of a complaint is happening too often and that they are still struggling with a young and inexperienced kitchen staff. She did so not as a disgruntled worker but as someone who genuinely seemed to hope they could solve their issues. A good attitude. The meatloaf took about 15 minutes and was actually pretty good. The flourless cake came and was a nice presentation. On first bite however it was obvious it didn't represent the menu description that called for fried mint and mint coulis. It was still good, and when the server came back, I suggested the description on the menu was wrong. We laughed about it. She then came back and told me that they had forgotten to add the mint items, were mortified, and apologized. Honestly, it would have been a better touch to have comped our dessert, but they didn't, and that's OK too. So we ordered 4 food items, and half were problematic. That being said, here's hoping it is simply growing pains. They have $1 oyster nights on Tuesdays, and it is such a lovely environment, I'll probably give it another shot, if nothing else, for oysters. read more

In short, the place feels like a shadow of it's former self Appetizer: Put cold cornbread in a hot skillet, unexpectedly melted some weird cheese on it and the cornbread was still cold. Salad: They served us salads that were supposed to have anchovies in them but rather contained sardines. Entree 1: Served us Mac and Cheese with what was supposed to be short rib in it. It was supposed to have the flavorful cheeses of cheddar, gruyere and gouda in it. The gray meat was chopped in small pieces and mixed in, the "cheese" tasted like a rue. Entree 2: They served fish and chips with super salty fries and for some reason put coleslaw in a warmed iron bowl. The coleslaw was mostly flavorless. The service was a bit off, there was no explanation of specials and we had to ask if they even had them. Somehow our entrees came while we were eating our salads. To their credit, the vegetables served were in fact fresh and the cocktails were good. I understand that it's new management but it just isn't what it used to be. They are leveraging the name of what used to be a higher end restaurant and it is no longer that. I suppose it's possible we misordered, we just had high hopes for the basics given their previous top quality. It's possible that they're still working out the kinks, but the experience feels a lot more like the Kringle Pub than it does the old Farm Table. read more

So disappointed. Just spent 90 minutes there without being given the opportunity to try the food. The ONE time we saw our server was after we asked the manager who our server was. When she showed up we ordered drinks and the cheese board. Then about 45 minutes later we saw our server for the second time as we were walking out the door. The drinks were good and the food LOOKED good but since we never received our appetizer and were never given the chance to order entrees I cannot comment on the taste. We had dined here a handful of times pre-COVID and it was amazing. I was thrilled when I found out they had reopened a few weeks ago and immediately made a reservation. The topper to the whole experience was the other tables around us. About half were nearly finished with their dinners when we left and the other half were in the same position as us left waiting for drinks, food, and service. read more

Our visit was the first since The Farm Table reopened under new management. The online reservation was very easy and worked well. The overall look, inside and out, is very much the same as before, which is fantasticly decorated and very comfortable. The menu offers a good cross-section to choose from, including appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, pizza, and full dinners. We chose roasted Brussel sprouts (wow, fantastic!), and I had the swordfish, which was done perfectly and nearly melted in my mouth. The prices are moderate when you consider the setting and the quality of the food being served. There is plenty of parking close by, including handicapped. Inside seating will afford you the opportunity to experience the wonderful atmosphere they offer, but the outside, too, offers a relaxed setting you can enjoy on their deck or patio under cover of large umbrella.
