Today was my first time in this store, although I go to Kahala quite often. It's by Macys. Wow, I didn't know they sell Korean skincare products. Not only skincare, but also hair dyes, and some other items. All this time, I thought it sells its own line of lotions, similar to Bath and Body Works but I was wrong. When I came in, Cheyenne helped me with choosing a moisturizer for my MIL. She was pleasant, and seemed to be knowledgeable about the products. I ended going with Beauty of Joseon's moisturizer ($27). They currently have a spin the wheel event going on until 03/31/26. Anyway, I am excited that I can come here for future Korean skincare product needs. read more

What started off with my wife always talking about the importance of skin care and doing it herself has slowly turned into me having my own skincare routine lol. Me time... Little items like these are great to take that precious time for yourself and at The Face Shop they have lots of makeup, skincare items to choose from. Currently running a Mother's Day sale including a scratch card giving from10% to 100% off is a great promotion and being told they've already have a few with 100% off. Not as lucky getting 10% off is still a wonderful discount I picked up a few masks as the UV we get here in Hawai'i is brutal on the skin so this is something that does help and soothe to hydrate for a little spa moment at home lol! The staff there are so friendly and knowledgeable with a greet at the door informing me of the promotions and sales so that I'm fully aware what to shop for even reminding me at checkout what each masks are the targeting the use for is greatly appreciated and is very helpful regardless and was also given a couple of free toner samples to use prior to the masks application is always what makes here great giving awareness for the combined use of their various products. Went to the Kahala store recently looking for a new foundation. My skin is changing and was looking for something that was moisturizing but does cause excess oil. It was suggested to me to try these two products and they are absolutely amazing! Sun protection is super important to me too. I purchased a no shine sunscreen that also has primer in it. It makes my pores look smaller and my makeup look smoother on my face. I also purchased the BB cream waterproof with SPF 50. I was looking for something that wasn't heavy. This is definitely my go to foundation now. Just a few drops goes along way. My skin looks natural and bright. After a week of using these two items my skin started to look better too. I also use the Dr. Belmeur moisturizing toner which doesn't dry out my skin. There are a lot of great products at this store! Go and find something for yourself!! read more

I've been using the face shop products since they first opened in McCully. I've tried many different products including their makeup, skin care, and nail polish. Having a location in kahala mall with lots of ample parking is a plus. It is located near Macy's and California pizza kitchen. They are right across from the new Hickam federal credit union kiosk. The store itself is very clean and sleek. The staff is friendly and are willing to help you find products that suit your specific needs. On a regular basis I use the mango seed foaming cleanser. It comes out in a paste form and then when you add water and rub it on your face it turns foamy. It also has a very sweet smell, which is a plus! It leaves your face feeling clean and moisturized. Then at night I use the chia seed hydrating emulsion. Smells amazing! In the morning I use the SPF 40 sun lotion. It doesn't feel greasy at all and goes on smooth. I hate that lotion residue feel and this sun lotion doesn't have any of that! My all time favorite product! I have also tried many other products such as the chia seed eye makeup remover. The face masks are always fun, especially the ones with animal faces on them! They sort of fit weird, but it's fun with friends! The volcanic cream for blackheads works excellent! I also have the foot and hand cream which helps with the Hawaii weather! Every once in a while I'll do the foot peel, which is really cool because your dead skin falls off within 2 weeks of doing it. I've tried their makeup, but my skin is a little dark for the tones that they have. Definitely would recommend their skin care products because they have not let me down yet! Excellent!!! read more

This is the original Face Shop that I started at a few years back. I stopped going to this location for a while because they had some ladies working there that wasn't the nicest tbh but I went by yesterday and was pleasantly surprised that they are back to their old selves again. I am giving this review four stars because it seems like they are no longer selling the chia seed foaming cleanser. What a bummer, that one smelled amazing! Anyways the lady who was helping me yesterday was so nice she showed me similar products and gave me samples of some to try as well. I did end up buying something else with her help, she spent a good amount of time assisting me. I appreciate that type of service as the other two Face Shops I went to this past week just told me "sorry we're out but we can put you on a waiting list" which is nice of them but not very helpful in my opinion. Korean cosmetics. I'm telling you it's a booming business. This is the fourth shop to open in Hawaii and women of all ages love their products. This store seems to carry a lot more skin care products. The girls are friendly and try to help you find what you're looking for or explain the products to you. It's very overwhelming since there are so many types of face cleansers, skin care products and face powders. But I say try different things out. The prices are reasonable. I like their fun nail polish colors and now they even have gel nail polishes and a gel light! I love buying face masks and face wipes here. They make my face feel so fresh and clean! read more

You are not allowed to touch anything in the store. The staff has to get the items off the shelf for you. I have no desire to shop for things other than I come into the store for if I'm unable to handle the products. Please don't follow me in the store. Allow your customers to shop freely. I have been using their products for over a year. With the COVID-19, they have implemented some safety precautions (which I appreciated). Unfortunately, I was totally turned off by their customer service. Once I walked in, the sale associate shouted from behind the counter, "please use the hand sanitizer first." I picked up an item, she told me to put it down, no touching any items. She asked whether I need anything else or want any samples, I said no. I just pay for the BB cream and left. They should have a written procedure posted by the front entrance and let the customer be aware of it, and not some cutesy SMALL hand written sign (please use the hand sanitizer) hanging down by the product table. I don't think I will go back again, I will just have to look for another suitable product. read more

This is a review for The Face Shop in general, the ones I actually visited (Korea Town in New York and Kahala Mall). LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! My first visit to The Face Shop was actually in Korea Town, New York. My skin was the worse it's ever been. I'm not sure if was the changing of skin regime or the stress or the hormones or all the above, but I was dealing with bad cystic acne, those hard to treat, deep under the surface, zits. I tried different treatments with no avail and I was so determined not to go on the Accutane pill. I don't know what exactly made me want to give The Face Shop a try, but I was just over having bad skin and I was feeling really insecure. Plus, I'd see so many Koreans with some of the smoothest, glowing, healthiest looking skins out there, so I was like why not. I was desperate. Walking in, we were welcomed openly. The salesperson I'd inquire with was very helpful. I had told her my skin issues and she suggested Dr. Belmeur line for my acne and eczema issues and also suggested the blemish and scar spot treatments, which were these sticker things. I purchased Dr. Belmeur travel kit to give it a try and she gave me samples of the line to also try out along with a green tea face mask. It was definitely a good first experience. Returning home to Hawaii, I'd had been using the line and was seeing significant improvement. My cystic acne was clearing up and not returning as bad as before, a zit here and there during those time of the months, but that was it. It was time for a toner refill, so to the Kahala location I went. Janelle at Kahala Face Shop was helpful and kind. I went in to purchase more toner, but also to ask about treating the scars I had as a result of the cystic acne breakout. She suggested the White Seed spot treatment, which I've been using that has been lightening my scars. The cashier was nice as well and gave me some samples to try out and helped me sign up for the rewards program. All in all, I'm a fan of The Face Shop. I'll be back soon, like real soon, especially with their Mother's Day promo going on. read more

BUYER BEWARE . . . ESPECIALLY IF PURCHASING A GIFT!!!! I received the YEHWADAM HWANSAENGGO Ultimate Youth Cream set ($99) as a birthday gift from my son. I tried the samples that he received and it made me break out the first time. I gave it a few days & tried the samples again, and once again I broke out. My son was not given a gift receipt, so I was unaware that there is a 2 week return policy. I didn't open the actual set yet, but I'm unable to exchange it for something else, so I'm stuck with $99 worth of product that will go unused. The store manager or supervisor on duty was unable or would now allow an exchange. VERY disappointed with the customer service and that the manager was not able to do something to accommodate the needs of their customer. With the number of store out there to choose from, the one thing that can make a store stand out from the rest is the customer service. Because of this negative experience, I will NEVER shop at The Face Shop again. read more

The service and product stock here is disappointing that it makes me think it's worth going through the hassle to fight for parking at the McCully location. Mind you they'll usually have face masks and most lotions but when it comes to their gel nail products I don't understand why they still offer the samples when they don't even have any products to sell. Other items I've seen them not keep in stock and I get it that they may get customers purchasing popular items but wouldn't you think you'd keep enough stock to match the demand? I only experienced one girl who really knew about the products and who I considered helpful, the rest I dunno I didn't feel that they cared. Recently when I had gone looking for their gel removers I was told they were getting more in, when I went few weeks earlier I was told the same thing. The associate didn't even offer to find if other locations carried the item in stock or took my info down to notify me when it'll arrive to their location. All she could say was "I'm sorry". I'd still return for the convenience if I need face masks and some lotions but don't expect everything out on sample to be in stock or for the staff to go the extra mile for you in service. read more

This review is for the Kahala Mall location. The Face Shop is close to the entrance/exit by California Pizza Kitchen. There is parking located all around the mall. I was walking around the mall trying to kill time when I noticed that The Face Shop opened up. I hadn't visited the store in awhile, so I went in to see what kind of new items they had. The store is large; a lot bigger than the Ward Warehouse or McCully stores. If you have never been to The Face Shop, it's a Korean brand of soaps, shampoos, makeup, skincare, lotion, nail polish. I'm sure there's more, but that's the big sellers. What caught my eye this time was the gel nail polish. Not only do they have the nail polish, but the gel polish dryer/UV light appliance, too. With that in mind, I went to ask if they had gel polish remover. It makes sense, right? One of the associates approached me to ask if I had questions. I asked her if they had gel polish remover. She said they did and directed me to the product. I asked her how it worked and I was told that it would just wipe the help polish off. Really? I heard that it was hard to take that stuff off. I still have gel polish on from a month ago because I thought I had to get them off at the salon or blowtorch it off myself. I asked her if I could try the tester and she handed me a cotton pad. Well, I tried. And tried. And tried some more. It didn't even take the shine off. When I went to tell the associate, she was busy with someone else, so I just left. I'm not saying that I blaming the associate for the product not doing what it's supposed to do. I am disappointed that she didn't know the product that well. I would've been ok if she told me that she didn't know and went to ask a manager. I feel like she just told me what was good to get a sale. Would I come back? I really don't know. Sometimes the way you get treated by an employee the 1st time can leave an impression that lasts a LONG time. And right now, that bad impression isn't very good. (7) read more

I love their products and when I found out that they were carrying gel polishes, I wanted to try a couple so I purchased a plain creamy red color and a platinum glitter one. The red one bled but I liked it enough to keep it and buy more. However, the glitter one was just awful. I swatched the tester in-store and it looked beautiful but when I went home and tried it, the finish wasn't striking at all even in different lighting, and it was goopy and went on unevenly so I went back to exchange it. Here is where the real problem begins: I went to the counter and told them I wanted to exchange it. The assoc says that all polishes are final sale. Well guess what? Nobody told me and nowhere on the receipt nor the stands say that polishes were a final sale. The conversation got heated with her pretty much accusing me of being dishonest by when I said that she didn't tell me when I was checking out. She said that they were supposed to verbally tell customers that it was final. Now mind you, I made the purchase a few days ago and she was the same one who rung me up and never said a word. All she kept saying was that it was their policy and that she was "sorry". She said that people try to exchange polishes for different colors and I told her that I wasn't exchanging it for the color and instead it was because it was a poor quality product, which I assumed that all their glitter gel polishes were, so I wanted to exchange it for the plain colored one instead. If I had known that it was a final sale, I wouldn't have bothered driving all the way from Waipahu to Kahala to exchange it. I asked if they could just honor it this one time and she said no. As I was about to walk away, she attempted to look like she cared by asking to see my receipt. She looks at it and scuffs saying that she was the one who helped me. And so I said "yes, and you didn't say anything about it." I decided to just speak to a manager. Turned out that she was the manager. I told her that the problem was she's the manager and she should have known to tell me in the first place. It was her fault and she couldn't even grant me the exchange. That kind of customer "service" is not the kind you give, especially when you're the one managing the store and that the shop had just newly opened. Their associates are usually friendly and nice. It shouldn't matter how much I paid, all I wanted was an exchange for a different color, and was informed that I had to pay the difference. Ridiculous return/exchange policy. I think the customer service is not very flexible. I purchased a recycle bag for $20 to get a 10% discount when I come into shop. No one said there was an expiration date. If not I wouldn't have gotten it. You need to read and ask what they're policies are. read more
